Not sure what I expected of Argentina this World Cup - semi finalists/finishing 3rd/4th - but I just expected them to be better than what they have been.

Agree The Pumas have been woeful this RWC-but they are at least playing slightly better than the pool game against England-that was the worst team performance in the whole of the RWC for me.They were shocking.

not giving that argie pass as forward ... fun match fun officiating
forward all day long. |
|
By:
can only assume they want a close match

Not ahead for long! ENG 23- 17 ARG

why weren't Eng more adventurous last w/end or were they prevented from so doing?
Saffers weren't really on it imho thought this would be a similar stodgy affair but pleasantly surprised |
|
By:
If they played an expansive game against Boks they would have got hammered Johnny. They had a game plan and in fairness it worked for 70 minutes.

Nobody will remember the Bronze medal from they 2023 RWC-They can have it
![]() AB's, Boks, Ireland and France are currently miles ahead of the chasing pack. |
|
By:
Boks clearly not miles ahead of England.
|
|
By:
had a completely meaningless feel about it. time to scrap that and have a plate for 3rd place group finishers with the final on the friday night. proper celebration afterwards, a plate, fireworks etc, not a bunch of guys standing around asking each other what they're doing there.
|
|
By:
Boks clearly not ahead of England? Really?
You must be watching a different game to me. |

A few things from tonight's game , first I lost my bet ! But that didn't matter , what matters is how England played and that was terrible in my opinion. What is the point in having wingers if you don't ever use them , the ball never once went through the three quarters the whole game.It was kick kick , if it got to Farell he kicked it , if it ever got to the centres they dropped it.We know that Marcus Smith is a terrific fly half but he will never be a full back , not the size or stature. Font know why he was there when our proper full back was on the wing.On a different note was spitting blood about the first Argentina try which was so forward it was ridiculous. Having seen so many contentious decisions given by the TMO in this world cup the not having this one overturned rankles as in my opinion it changed the game .But saying that it wasn't Argentinas fault and they at least tried to play entertaining rugby. We played a special way against South Africa last week and were unlikely but in all honesty we are light years behind the top four.(phew).

Nice write up and assessment Hunt.I have no doubt England have the squad to play attacking rugby-sadly I'm not sure Borthwick is the man that going to get them playing that way.
I totally understand the game plan against the Boks(it was a RWC semi final) but still unsure why a few players get picked game after game-Elliot Daley being one. England won the Bronze medal-But I will bite anyone's hands off that give me odds against on Ireland winning at Twickenham on March 9th 2024, |

Heavy cloud over Paris with forecast of rain this evening
|
|
By:
Indeed it's a rainy night in Paris so you'd think perhaps not a big scoring match.

By:
My perfect result would be a draw in 80 minutes and N.Z. win in extra time.
You never know.... ![]() |

Nearly at flip flopping favourites before the off the spring box 6/5 into evens

Draw must be in play, good luck slippy.
Not expecting flowing rugby so a good arm wrestle will do. Good luck all... ( and no stupid red card please) |
|
By:
I dunno who I want to win really
Not a fan of the all blacks love in so Ill side with the boks And at least then we lost to the champions, by 1 measly point |

Come on All Blacks, sick of the sight of these South African Lummoxes. Not been impressed with them really. Hope New Zealand win with more agility and speed.
