I'm thinking this will be a double figure win for Ireland on a fine day in Rome but I don't particularly like the odds on the margins.  5/4 three+ tries is now my bet.

Somebody fancies Gori for first try scorer.

I'm hoping Ireland build a early lead and then I'll be laying them.

The place is doing my nut in.  They could not give a feck about us but are quite happy to help 'emselves to 40% of my weekly rake!

Erm, yes, a fair bit of difference in the anthems there. These Italians know how to get the mind games started.

Love this Italian anthem and the French and Welsh. The other three I can give a miss.

Hopefully Barnes won't have one of his picky defensive pen days.

At least the weather should be a bit more cooperative.

How is that not a knock on by Parisse?

ffs this Italian TV coverage is going to do my head in with it's sea-sickness camera switching and fascination with close-ups.  Not good at all for enjoying the game.

Italian directors do tend to get a bit flamboyant. Completely unnecessary in general, just hold it steady and show the whole game.

Big game needed from Kearney here. Once upon a time he was probably clear Lions no.1 but right now he's got a lot of competition and I think he's at best 2nd (behind Halfpenny) right now. One thing we can be sure of is that we will be leaving some very good full-backs behind. (same can't be said for half-backs).

What a poor decision, POM wasn't the tackler, first man in on the ball and on his feet

Kearney has been average for club and country, I wouldn't even have him on the plane.

Barnes AWFUL referee

I don't know, that was marginal, O'Mahony had connected before Parisse was fully down. Barnes was on the other side of the maul and I imagine that made a difference to the decision.

Rory Best another struggling to make the Lions. Back throwing it sideways again like he did against Scotland

Best has the advantage that there is buggerall else in his position though. Can play poorly and still maybe be number 1.

This is not going to be an easy day for Barnes. Will be hands in at every ruck from both sides I imagine.

Dopey front-rows will do things like that though and make decisions easier.

Parisse is undoubtedly a fantastic player but am I the only one who gets sick of commentators creaming themselves every time he touches the ball?

that is a shocking miss

I think I prefer it when it is justified. With the amount of biased comms in this comp there is a lot of excitement about players that don't really do a lot
By:

Think I should have backed 2+ yellows. Wayne Barnes plus Irish hands at rucks = cards.

Certainly looks like yellows will out score tries at the moment

Why is Wallace struggling to pick up on the reasons? Healey dumps himself on the wrong side and doesn't move, O'Mahony comes in from a debatable angle. Easy decisions for Barnes for the most part.

Blimey is there a big wind or was that a massive slice or just a funny camera angle Confused
