The decider in this series is tipped to set all kind of records with predictions of televisions highest ever ratings in the Eastern States. So whilst sadly the game seems to be under pressure in England in Australia especially when it comes to Origin it is flying.

Below is a link to a preview of the game from Scott Woodward - i know at least one person last time commented on how good it was. Even if he doesn't get it right he certainly knows his stuff.

Enjoy the game and hopefully the game can continue to kick on well in England. At least take heart from the fact that it is possible for the game to be wildly successful based on it's success here.

Queensland are a banker, Inglis first try.
Report inside running July 4, 2012 7:57 AM BST
Queensland are definitely not a banker and the teams are finally extremely close.  The Blues forwards have started to get on top of Queensland and if Pearce and Carney play well I think the Blues have a real chance here to win the series, esp. with no Billy Slater playing.

My bet is Total Match Points under 34.5.  The first 2 games had 28 points each and rarely do we get blowouts in Origin.

Good luck!

ps also small bet on M.Pearce man of match@ $32, and J.Thurston @ $9

Greatest show on turf about to start in 1 hour!
Report The_KAMIKAZEE_DRINKING_MACHINE July 4, 2012 11:12 AM BST
Think the Blues look stronger and much hungrier. They don't have the try scoring ability of QLD for sure but QLD without Slater and question marks over others it could be an upset. If not 4.5 start sounds ok!!
Report RugbyMan July 4, 2012 11:17 AM BST
Brilliant, fight after 80 seconds!

How do you work out who is the main offender there?
Report Jontheman July 4, 2012 11:18 AM BST
dunno but punching somebody who's on the ground held down and completely defenceless is pretty pathetic...
Report RugbyMan July 4, 2012 11:20 AM BST
Indeed, and it looks like Tate threw one on the ground to start it as well. Lucky boy.
Report grappler July 4, 2012 11:21 AM BST
in his defence he was gven a proper facial in the tackle before that
Report Jontheman July 4, 2012 11:22 AM BST
true
anyway, what a break that is!
Report RugbyMan July 4, 2012 11:22 AM BST
Cracking break. Rare to see Thaiday miss anything like that.
Report RugbyMan July 4, 2012 11:30 AM BST
Looked like it just about touched down on first view.

Would be nigh on impossible for the defender to stop that getting down with Morris's weight on it.
Report Banned_Banks July 4, 2012 11:32 AM BST
Does every woman in the Queensland crowd need to give the finger to the nearest NSW supporter?

Is it a condition of entry?
Report RugbyMan July 4, 2012 11:38 AM BST
This is Australia, was only 2 years ago they were banned from fighting with knives......
Report The_KAMIKAZEE_DRINKING_MACHINE July 4, 2012 11:46 AM BST
Why does everyone go high on Inglis? One Faainga style shin chop and he'd be straight down!!
Report The_KAMIKAZEE_DRINKING_MACHINE July 4, 2012 11:57 AM BST
Lazy from Pierce. A possible forward pass. But brilliant from Thurston. Great play!
Report Gerry Gows Lad July 4, 2012 11:59 AM BST
That's possibly the worst decision i have seen in rugby league.
Report bilbobaggins July 4, 2012 12:01 PM BST
Hannant took two NSW defenders out with that run -should have been no try
Report The_KAMIKAZEE_DRINKING_MACHINE July 4, 2012 12:01 PM BST
I wouldn't go that far. The GI try takes that cake. But the Blues have reason to feel aggrieved.
Report bilbobaggins July 4, 2012 12:03 PM BST
My god - that was so obviously stripped. These refs are homers.
Report The_KAMIKAZEE_DRINKING_MACHINE July 4, 2012 12:04 PM BST
I didn't think he was trying to pass it.
Report TheVis July 4, 2012 12:05 PM BST
NSW look a good bit off the pace today unfortunately
Report RugbyMan July 4, 2012 12:05 PM BST
All going very well for NSW to start with, but first of all Queensland start to find their feet, then the officials decide that we should have the same winner as last year......
Report RugbyMan July 4, 2012 12:09 PM BST
If NSW aren't on top up-front it's very hard to see where they score tries from. Taking a lot of hits to the head as well so far.
Report lastchance July 4, 2012 12:10 PM BST
always the same officials favour queensland from 1st punch up !!!!!!!!
Report Mourinho_of_gambling July 4, 2012 12:13 PM BST
Queensland were always free money playing at Suncorp
Report NSL July 4, 2012 12:14 PM BST
Absolutely nothing wrong with the Hodges try for those that feel aggrieved, no obstruction or crossing. Lot of high shots being let go for both sides. QLD just have an extra gear by the looks of things.
Report AdvantageAussie July 4, 2012 12:20 PM BST
turn it up... even Wally Lewis in commentary thought it was not try!
Report mikehuntisairy July 4, 2012 12:22 PM BST
expect fireworks, nsw nothing to lose,so either get back in game or even up those headhigh tackles esp those from the refs
Report RugbyMan July 4, 2012 12:24 PM BST
As soon as you run behind your runners you are asking to be penalised. I don't think it was the most obvious case, but still no try for me.

Not sure it will matter though. Queensland look most likely to run away with this.
Report RugbyMan July 4, 2012 12:29 PM BST
Well, well. That is beautifully done.
Report The_KAMIKAZEE_DRINKING_MACHINE July 4, 2012 12:37 PM BST
I made a decision a few years ago to just watch rugby.Up until then I'd watched both. But after my son was playing rugby on Saturdays, league on Sundays, rep rugby on Sunday arvos plus trying to watch a full round of NRL and Super rugby it was all getting too much,so I chose rugby.

When I go back to league, a few times a year I'm struck by how long they allow the defenders to hold down the tackled player. It's artificial and awful. It's hard to watch.

I saw a classic game on foxtel the other day from 1992. They tackled rolled away and the attacker got up and played the ball.It was so much faster than today.
Report bilbobaggins July 4, 2012 12:38 PM BST
What a tackle from Brett Morris.
Report bilbobaggins July 4, 2012 12:39 PM BST
Josh
Report RugbyMan July 4, 2012 12:42 PM BST
That may have levelled the reffing up some what. NSW doing everything they could to mess about with Inglis there.

That's my biggest bugbear as well The_KAMIKAZEE_DRINKING_MACHINE, although it applies to Union also. I don't expect them to bounce up straight away, but I hate the amount of wrestling that goes on after the tackle has been made. Nobody in the crowd wants to see defenders doing some Greco-Roman moves when they should be running back to their line.
Report RugbyMan July 4, 2012 12:46 PM BST
Williams is a thug, but I don't think he can be blamed for that. Cooper's head was going downwards and Williams' arm wasn't high.

Certainly compared to a lot of the tackles that haven't been picked up anyway!
Report The_KAMIKAZEE_DRINKING_MACHINE July 4, 2012 12:48 PM BST
I agree. Btw 'KD' will do!
Report The_KAMIKAZEE_DRINKING_MACHINE July 4, 2012 12:51 PM BST
Thaiday must be the only player in the NRL to have a RU prop belly!
Report RugbyMan July 4, 2012 12:52 PM BST
That's completely messed up by NSW. Not like they don't have their chances in these games.
Report RugbyMan July 4, 2012 12:54 PM BST
THAT IS INCREDIBLE

if it's given.......
Report The_KAMIKAZEE_DRINKING_MACHINE July 4, 2012 12:54 PM BST
Coaches in both codes love to imagine that every player across the park can dispaly all the skills. The reality is that even 2012 most forwards just don't got it!
Report RugbyMan July 4, 2012 12:55 PM BST
Fantastic stuff. Come on Carney, get this one over.

Report RugbyMan July 4, 2012 12:58 PM BST
Been a few in NRL recently that have been more acrobatic, but certainly none more important.
Report grappler July 4, 2012 1:00 PM BST
i dont know why we cant have a drawn series. nobody deserves to lose
Report RugbyMan July 4, 2012 1:01 PM BST
Ridiculously good drop goal from Cronk. Made that look much easier than it is.

5 mins for NSW to get themselves within range.
Report The_KAMIKAZEE_DRINKING_MACHINE July 4, 2012 1:01 PM BST
Cronk played rugby as a lad! Be nice to get him back.
Report RugbyMan July 4, 2012 1:03 PM BST
There was talk of him going to Hull a couple of seasons back. Bet he's glad he didn't!
Report RugbyMan July 4, 2012 1:07 PM BST
Bugger, wouldn't have minded a draw at all.

Great game though.

Good to have a decent series for once as has been a bit lame these last few years with too much Q dominance.

Shame about the draw though.....can't buy one of those this year Sad

Absolutely love the State Of Origin series, I lived in Oz and literally the whole country watches these matches. I was there when Alfie Langer was captain of the Maroons, a great player he was.
