That's my point Dunc.  Football equivalent been waiting over 40 years.

Alberts carrying the South African pack. There rucking is pathetic but lets face it Houghaard has been ponderous at the breakdown.

This is a great physical game so far.  I know I am boring but keeping the draw well onside on the evidence so far.

Really entertaining rugby from England, rather than the old catch it and fall over rubbish from previous seasons.  Players won't settle for heroic failure here.

Very good solid start from England for sure.

Heroic failure would have been good down under from previous teams. Utter pasting was more likely!

The draw is safely tucked away here too, all the more so with some moisture around.

Kicking game needs to improve. Far too deep which makes a decent chase almost impossible.

It's not too much of an issue at all if Eng have heroic failure on this tour.  As we are now saying, at least they are picking new players and form players and the days of Tindall/Shaw et al are thankfully long gone

draw price has barely moved. Bit odd bearing in mind how tight it has been.

How did no official pick up Bismark being 3 yards offside ffs????

Crap like that turns matches.

Superb defence and justice done after any number of Boks were offside.

Need to sort the scrum out.

Rugby union as a sport needs to sort the scrum out.  They can start with eliminating feeding.

Francois Houghaard is so slow at the breakdown its scary. They are not blowing past just standing around.

It's unbelievable that SA, with their 10 man game, do not opt for Pienaar at 9 to pull the strings and take some pressure off Steyn. Hougaard far better suited to fast, open games or coming off the bench with his pace.

Hell of a signing for Gloucester is Morgan. They still need some tight-five forwards to challenge I think, but there is plenty of good young talent in other areas for sure.

Didn't understand the pen there.  Surely the ball was knocked loose and the SA player picked up a loose ball?

Can someone who knows the rules explain.  Thanks.
By:

When: 09 Jun 12 16:33
Not sure who knocked it out, but the SA players feet were well in front of the back foot as he stood at the side. Just wasn't onside when he picked it up.
By:
big_dunc
When: 09 Jun 12 16:34
The SA defender needs to be behind the hindmost foot when the ruck is formed. The ball did squirt out but he was already in an offside position.
By:
RugbyMan
When: 09 Jun 12 16:34
In fact, technically the moment he picked it up maybe wasn't relevant if the ball was knocked out, but the fact he didn't retreat did for him.

Ah, shame. It's always the one you don't see that does for you. Ashton so nearly in.

Intelligent play by Youngs and Ashton though. Good to see!

Pinching Scarlets kids probably isn't a bad idea Glossy. Two of the best academies around at Glos and Llanelli.

Only trouble is their props are not great and that's what Glos need. Maybe pinch a lock, although Reed has just gone to Cardiff and they wont want to lose any more.

That was the worst organised maul I have ever seen from SA. Matfield and Botha missing is a big problem.

Why didn't Brown let that go from Kirchner??? Way too much on it!
By:

Out of interest, why not Matfield or Botha?  Injured, retired or just not selected?
