No adventure, no forward planning. What a liability ‘O’Sullivan’s side-kick’ Kidney has become.

Granted Wales have injuries but Irelands price is a joke as usual.
By:
GPT, you do realise this is a betting forum, you've already said Wales will win it so the're price must be favourable if Ire's price is a 'joke', so go back Wales at the odds.
By:
If anything, it's the outright prices for Wales that are a joke given they are going to be 2/1+ for the opener.
By:
True, that leaves close to evens to with the other 4 matches.
Personally, I think Ireland's price is too long at 5/1 for championship, but going by GPT they should be longer ! |
By:
* win the other 4
By:
Bearing in mind that home advantage does tend to be exactly that, I can't see any problems in the current Ireland price and expect them to go lower.

Do you think a Grand Slam will be won this season RM ?
By:
Not a clue fella. Grand Slam winners dont always seem to follow any logic previous to the event, they just get on a roll, and often find a few things going their way. Makes it a bit too much of a gamble for me.
By:
Yeah you're right, team needs a bit of luck to get 5 from 5 and it usually is a settled side.
By:
Same as last 2 times I have backed Wales,a very succesful strategy so far pacficrc

Doubt you'll catch Ireland cold this time
when does Gatland name his team ? |
By:
Friday, no doubt all the 'injury clouded' players will make it. Gatland is awful at the mind games.
Don't like Irelands starting team but they've got 4 dynamic ball carrying forwards on the bench which pleases me. |
By:
How he didn't start Ryan is bizarre. He's playing great rugby, good lineout, great scrummager, carries better than DOC and his instinct is not to hit the deck on contact.
D'arcy lacks pace for 12 which won't help out Earls. You need to play the form players for form rugby, luckily the rest of some of the 'old reliables' are playing well ! Should win but it's no surprise we don't put away teams. |
By:
Well, Cronin is certainly a dynamic ball carrier, not sure about the other three. I think you are right about the likely miraculous recovery of some of the Welsh on the injured list.
By:
I think Les Kiss is a bit of a fan of Donncha defensively and might have had an input on selection. I would imagine DOC is the better scrummager of the two, though one never truly knows.
By:
You'll be glad to hear O'Mahony appeared on the wing for Con last season icbd LOL !
Defo NOT the better scrummager though, that's a fact. |
By:
Ryan has a huge impact in 2nd at scrumtime.
By:
* 2nd row
By:
Also the fact DOC works rather than carries is a big plus for me. Bad enough having POC masqeurading as a carrier without Ryan trying to get his mitts on the ball too.
Leave the ball carrying to SOB, Healy, Heaslip and Ferris. The rest of them should just be hitting rucks. |
By:

Now, I am impressed!!!! How are u so sure Ryan is a better scrummager than DOC? I always suspected those back row converts take it easy when they get stuck in the boiler room. |
By:
I might actually become a Munster fan going forward. There is huge potential to play some decent entertaining rugby there going forward. (Sort of like Total Football coming to Stoke
)Quicksilver backrow with Coughlan, Ronan, POM. Out wide...Felix Jones, Zebo, Howlettt, Earls. ROG is holding Muster back. Pension him off, and find a 10 who can play flat and whose first instinct isn't to kick! If the Munster faithful get a taste of some proper rugby they wont know what hit them! |
By:
Thought you would be. 4 good carriers starting alright but 2nd rows hitting the deck will slow it, that's why I'd start Ryan, good agressive player.
Ryan is prob Munster's best 2nd row scrummager, DOC uses it for a breather ![]() ROG is like the cat with 9 lives lol |
By:
I too would like to know how your quantifying Ryan as the better scrummager.
I can't think of any game where the Irish/Munster scrum has improved solely becaus eof his introduction |
By:
I've always had DOC down down as the best scrummager in Ireland - even ahead of POC. And I agree that he's been for his defensive work. Matt Williams was on Newstalk last night saying how disgracefully ROG has been treated by the media over the years, but it's nothing worse than the sledging DOC got around this time last year. He might give away the odd daft penalty, but there is nobody in Ireland who hits rucks harder or gets through more work at the breakdown than DOC. Ryan has improved for Munster this year, but he's looked like a duck out of water any time I've seen him in a green shirt.
By:
Best scrummager ? Maybe you should try watching the Munster with Ryan and then with DOC, as has been numerous opportunities this season, it's not difficult to notice if you're looking for it

By:
I wasn't calling calling for Cullen ahead of DOC this time last year, and we all saw how that turned out.
By:
Agree that ROG has got a tough time in media, what I find funny is the same people saying with DK's latest selection is if there's a choice between a Munster player and another player, Munster player gets the call. Go figure ...
By:
Tough time in the media, my ar$e! All the Munster journalists big him up at every opportunity. Sky Sports love him too.
Re Decco favouring Munster players..I think there might be something to it. Buckley ahead of Mike Ross, MOD ahead of Leinster Captain Cullen, etc etc. Can you think of any Munster player that you think Kidney should have picked and didn't? |
By:
But all Leinster supporters play the poor mouth with Sexton, if he delivers on the intl stage he'll be undisputed number 1, but he hasn't, I hope his does this time out.
Leo Cullen was never, and never will be test standard. James Coughlan is a better number 8 than Heaslip this season, possibly last season aswell. |
By:
So you're best example of a Muster player being overlooked is Coughlan ahead of Jamie Heaslip!
I rest my case. |
By:
Any sentance that has "Buckley ahead of Mike Ross" should be followed up by 4 of these:
, three of these , 22 of these and possibly one of an emoticon being sick, if such a thing exists. |
By:
I think he over selected on Leinster players in the WC squad with players like Cullen, Jennings and Boss who were never realistically going to be able to compete for the starting jersey.
My opinion is you can never have enough Munster players in a team to win, you might understand it sometime. ![]() |
By:
Winning 2 Heineken Cups in 3 years goes a long way towards getting yourself in a WC squad!
By:
Ah you can do better than that icbd ?
![]() |
By:
I was actually quite pleased with that barb
![]() |
By:
Icbd bang on the money here. ROG has an armchair ride and any criticism, when it appears, is brought on himself. You need three players in every position going to the World Cup so I don't accept the argument about Cullen and Jennings. Coughlan over Heaslip really is splitting hairs. I agree he looks a good player, but he needs to stop dropping the ball every time he makes a few yards.
I don't buy into the hype around Peter O'Mahony. It does seem as soon as someone shows any potential in a red shirt that they are fast-tracked into the Ireland set up. Chris Henry can consider himself very hard done by to be overlooked. |
By:
Just highlights our lack of quality at tighthead RM, one week Buckley looked the part, the next it was embarrasing. Ross has really stepped up though.
I think Henry played himself out of the squad in the Saxons' match tbh, POM if given the chance takes it. I think Ferris, POM, O'Brien in years to come will be Ireland's best and most balanced backrow |
