I think that policy had to be deleted in a hurry when all those questions came up about people giving him millions. With the numbers of people on PiP roughly quadrupling in the last 7 years of tory government, it is clear there is something massively wrong and something needs to be done about it. The constituency he is MP for contains a considerably higher percentage of people on PIP than the national average, it's great that they have voted for this. |

I first sent off my Fit note 26.01.26, and continually sent them since then. Filled in and sent evidence for the UC50 form by 28.04.26. How long is the usual heath assessment. My condition isn't going to improve and I'm employed as a homeworker (16 hours with various adjustments) by HMRC. My income after I pay pension is under the threshold. My fit notes are 6 monthly. I will contact them on Monday but expect to be told the same. I get both high rate elements of PIP. Plus, I've given shiiit loads of evidence, but sods law, it'll take forever. |

The more sensible take is that those who are genuinely claiming should not be fearful as they will still be looked after.
The conmen, shysters and layabouts will not. Undoubtedly Reform may lose the votes of those who will fall foul of this policy, but equally they may gain plenty of votes from taxpayers who are fed up of funding the feckless whilst they graft away. |

Changes from April 2026
Increasing the Universal Credit standard allowance above inflation over the four financial years from 2026/27. By 2029/30, the UC standard allowance will be 4.8% higher than it would have been under the normal practice of increasing the standard allowance in line with Consumer Prices Index (CPI) inflation over the period. |

Some parents on benefits will be given up to £4,500 a year to encourage their children to start apprenticeships, the government has said.Under plans to encourage young people into work, families will be offered a bursary to replace Universal Credit payments lost by starting jobs The payment is expected to benefit an estimated few thousand households, who currently face losing between £17 and £330 a week if their children start apprenticeships . |

Changes from April 2026
From April 2026, the government removed the two-child limit. Families claiming Universal Credit can now receive the Child Element for every child, not just the first two. This change applies across England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. |
