Trump has already lost effectively, as soon as the bbc didn't settle. When trump is asked for deposition he'll dismiss the case.

The BBC has said it will defend itself against a $5bn (£3.7bn) lawsuit filed by US President Donald Trump over an edit of his 6 January 2021 speech in a Panorama documentary.

Trump accused the broadcaster of defamation and of violating a trade practices law, according to court documents filed in Florida.

The BBC apologised to him last month, but rejected his demands for compensation and disagreed there was a "basis for a defamation claim".

Trump's legal team accused the BBC of defaming him by "intentionally, maliciously, and deceptively doctoring his speech".

A BBC spokesperson said: "As we have made clear previously, we will be defending this case."

The BBC acknowledged the edit had given "the mistaken impression" he had "made a direct call for violent action", but disagreed that there was basis for a defamation claim.

It won't even get to court, As the new york times (who are also being sued) lawyers put it  "It's impossible to defame Hitler, Charles Manson, or Trump".

Trump will always withdraw before any case gets to "Discovery", because he will required to give sworn testimony, and the defence can subpoena all sorts of stuff which Trump will not risk getting himself into that position.

He can't plead the 5th when he's suing for defamationLaugh

But hey, it's christmas, The magaloon supporters can dream if they want, just like they did over hunters laptop.

(What happened, why hasn't trump issued any prosecutions over hunters laptop? they had a key witness who is now serving 5 years for perjury or something)

Afraid of discovery! Are you feeling alright? He's only recently won a case against ABC where they paid him a cool $16 million. He must be really terrified of discovery after the 4 criminal lawfare cases against him before the election which all had unlimited discovery available to them.

Trump lives so can be defamed.  That reported/alleged comment by the New York Times is in itself defamatory, clearly trying to link Trump’s name with the infamy of the other two.

They're going to question him on everything he did on January the 6th, EVERYTHING.

They would also subpoena others, and question them on everything they did on, and leading up to January 6th.
Trump can't take the 5th when he's the plaintiff.
Trump can't take the BBC to court, He knows that it would involve questions in court he runs a mile from.

Magaloons are in a cult, so they believe anything and everything their leader says.
The guy's a genius, he can recognise and identify a giraffe when shown pictures of 3 or 4 animals, he brags about it a lot on TV.

He didn't win the case. They just decided to settle

Gossip is Bondi and CashApp Patel are to be dropped early next year, seems unlikely as both will have unsavoury beans on Dave.

When: 23 Dec 25 15:04
Bondi could be sued from a few angles, most pressing is not releasing files, so her switching sides is one to look out for. It seems now time for the Vance plot to remove trump. He just had to wait until the base began to give in

How are the national guard invading cities? They were sent there to protect ICE officers from leftie lunatics who have been shooting at them trying to murder them. They were only needed because leftie mayors refused to use law enforcement officers to protect ICE officers who are there on federal business. ICE officers are entitled to be there deporting illegals, which is what the voters voted for in the last election.

America must be in a terrible state if they need to deploy armed troops against the civilian population in cities.

Even in the worst riots in the UK, that never happened.

They've been there months, hard to imagine just how awful America must be to need troops on the streets for months.
Surprised it's not front page news.

America must be in a terrible state if they need to deploy armed troops against the civilian population in cities. That's what I would say if I was propagating leftie hysteria. Troops are not being deployed against any civilians, they are only there to protect ICE officers. What should they do, leave the officers to be murdered by violent leftie nuttcases? They have already shot 2 people. It's only a matter of time before they kill ICE officers.

Trump said some of the cities were "war ravaged".

Even Washington DC, the capital is in such a terrible state that armed troops have been deployed there for months.

A lot of residents are more than happy to have them there because they are sick and tired of the out of control crime. If I lived there I would be happy as all sane people would. If the leftie lunatics in charge did their jobs enforcing the law properly it wouldn't be necessary.

Must be a terrible place if crime is out of control.

There must be huge numbers of very poor people and poverty everywhere if it's overwhelmed the police so much they have to call in armed troops.
