Sorry edy, I was addressing my fool. No deal was a sham, the tories were not going to implement it even though it would have been the best policy. Taking it off the table was like showing your hand at poker while still bidding. Foolishness in the extreme.

....but the Brexit poker game is a game with everyone knowing the cards you hold.

Rishi Sunak says he is "disappointed" his bill banning young people from ever being able to smoke legally will not pass before the general election.

The Tobacco and Vapes Bill, external is not included in the legislation being rushed through by MPs ahead of Parliament shutting down on Friday.

Selling tobacco to anyone born after 1 January 2009 would have become illegal.

But Mr Sunak said the bill was "evidence of the bold action that I'm prepared to take".

"That's the type of prime minister I am. That's the type of leadership that I bring.

"I stepped up to do something that is bold, that will make an enormous difference in the future of our country."

Yes, but you don't discard your aces. The one nation tories like traitor May are Remainers, one has to wonder about their ulterior motives.

The aces in this scenario being that the EU knows your cards and that you are bluffing?

There was a 'fireside' chat between these types on times radio. Quite amusing as it's as if they forgot anyone was listening. The plan in the Tory hierarchy after the cull is to remove Tory members from having an input whatsoever so that the remaining MPs can pick their leader. That plan will wipe out any remaining members who aren't pushing up daisies :)
By:

They should have been prepared to implement the aces unless they got a much better deal. They not only didn't want to but they told the EU so while still negotiating.
By:
edy
When: 29 Jun 24 12:17
The EU didn't need to be told with them being perfectly aware of the cards in the game.

That's what they did regarding Sunak, cider, and look how that worked out. I'm glad they are going to be history, they don't deserve any support.

A WTO terms Brexit and no level playing field would be much better long term. If the Celtic fringe countries want to vote for independence and rejoin the EU (supposing they would have them) even better.

The Celtic fringe countries are what made Britain a powerhorse. The English leeched off their ingenuity. Some respect to James Watt please.

Also, telling voters "hey, in 200 years it will have paid off....maybe" is not a vote winner.

Like, Farage would not have brought Brexit if he had told folk that lives might possibly be better in 200 years.

See? The English even leeched and stole his corpse.

Someone who professes to be an expert in politics, comparing a party starting from nothing to the Tories Crazy

I suppose you would have been betting against Farage winning a leadership contest. Do us a favour Grin

The pan is already outlined to build up to 2029, when there should be the typical organisation of a political party. One wag said what they have tried to do in the last few weeks is akin to building a plane whilst it is on the runway in the process of taking off.

The benefits would already be showing and we would be more respected rather than continue to be seen as a vassal state. There is no future being at the mercy of the Brussels Politburo and following their stupid energy policy. They could now turn off 20% of our power overnight if we don't toe the line.

James Watt has a chapel in St Mary's church where scientists like me can make a pilgrimage.
He was born in Scotland but came to Birmingham to team up with Matthew Bolton to develop the steam engine. Do come and have a look next time you are in England.

Have the naysayers really succeeded into deluding part of the local population into thinking the UK is not an internationally heralded and hugely respected country? Shades of MAGA here where the US are supposed to be disrespected.
By:

Bolton was primarily the commercialisation, wasn't it? Development was still done in Scotland.

Just saying one of history's most important developments not only for Britain, but the entire world, was done by someone from a celtic fringe country. And that's far from the only really cool and awesome invention involving celtic fringers. They are cool really. Also tend to be better behaved.

I realise that it's a difficult concept for your tiny disingenuous remoaner brain but the treacherous Tories were never going to do it anyway. It's nothing for you to worry about as Labour will be even bigger sell-out merchants, exactly what you want. Be happy and pay your taxes.

Not all remoaniacs are disingenuous. Let us please not assume that political opponents cannot be both intelligent and honest.
