One of the neighbours' kids was a couple of years older than me and was called up. He was posted to Aden. He said it was a good experience, did things he would not normally have the opportunity to do.

Stirred up is the word. It's a real Get Out the Vote leaflet for young people. A real "if you don't get out and vote you'll have these loons sending you off to some woe-begotten hellhole to die in someone else's war".

One of the neighbours' kids was a couple of years older than me and was called up. He was posted to Aden. He said it was a good experience, did things he would not normally have the opportunity to do. You must be a fair age Foinavon, I knew somebody who served in Aden, had a great photograph book of his time. Enjoyed it too. I gave it to an antique dealer, it wasn't worth anything but he liked it in his shop for people to browse. |
