Put the blame where it lies - the French government
For allowing these dinghies to set off across the channel from France with women and children aboard . And also for not permitting the immediate return to France from England if anyone who makes this dangerous crossing France ; and the EU are to blame |
By:
Yes, the French authorities know why these people are congregating near the coast but do nothing. They should provide them with accommodation, investigate whether or not they have entered the Schengen area illegally and process any asylum claims.
By:
It's a very long coastline, impossible to police every yard of it.
The British government need to open official channels of application as there are none by design, this is the nub of the problem. |
By:
The British government need to open official channels of application
And at what point should they start their application? Country of origin? How would this work, please explain. |
By:
45,000 have made it so far this year ,how many more are we meant to be allowing in ?
By:
official channels of application
The last thing half these people arrive want is anything Official . Plenty turning up in Dublin with no Passports Pecker ,Hows your official route over there ? |
By:
I wonder if this was one of the rare boats with Women and Children on
By:
People have died today, nice of any of you to acknowledge.
By:
Why don't they apply to come here through the proper channels?
By:
Tragic Pecker , 3 kids died on a lake Yesterday was not much mention of that on here

The UK should welcome genuine refugees.
What the UK can't do is accept unregulated economic migrants. It's easy to blame everything on others and France is an easy target but it wasn't France who shredded our relations with the EU. That the UK hasn't been able to replicate the co-operation we once had with France is purely down to Boris Johnson, Liz Truss and Rishi Sunak. |
By:
The official channel might tell us who they are Crip , Strangely to Avoid that they get rid of all forms of ID , I wonder why ?
By:
Yes Case, a good point.
They are going to come no matter, why not get the good ones and have them better in someway, at least then you have taken positive action instead of getting a bad reputation. |

A flight from Albania to London £17. Why don't they select this option?

Exactly casemoney.
But we could soon stop them coming in boats if the will was there. |
By:
We have not "shredded" our relationship with France, we have left a political organisation using the proper procedures set in place for doing so. Any member is entitled to do so in this way.
By:
Relations with France and most of the EU have been shredded by Brexit. That is a fact.
Boris Johnson put David Frost in charge of Brexit negotiations and he wasn't the least bit interested in future diplomatic relations. |
By:
It is for France to stop illegal migrants from leaving France
That is their responsibility and duty . When they fail then those illegal migrants should be returned immediately . If France and the EU refuse then as in this case and others then the French government and the EU are responsible for these deaths |
By:
Macron and all EUvgovernment leaders and responsible for these deaths
By:
Macron isn't chaining them and send them to Rwanda is he?
By:
That is an idiotic post lp
And not germane to the subject |
By:
You are putting the blame on Macron and the EU when the draw of the UKs black economy is ultimately responsible.
You are the idiot. |
By:
You are just being ridiculous as usual nobby, we have left a political union that is all. If we have shredded our relationship why are our troops stationed on the territory of some EU nations at their invitation? Why are our supermarkets filled with EU produce? You talk such rot.
By:
Where did I say they black market is not a problem
That again is another idiotic post I can see why we have had so much trouble in discussions with eu countries ![]() |
By:
Okay Foinavon if our diplomatic relationship with France hasn't been shredded why can't we return these Albanian economic migrants straight back to France?
By:
Macron isn't chaining them and send them to Rwanda is he?
Do you not understand that Most people in the UK do not want these people arriving here ,No one knows who they are or what they are |
By:
You never mentioned the cause except you just wanted to blame Macron, look at your posts.
Are you now saying the black market is the problem and these deaths won't have occured if there wasn't a black market for work? |
By:
What has Macron got to do with the UKs shadow economy?
By:
Lapsy I am saying they are coming here because of the black market
I do know there are thousands sitting in hotels who arrived in dinghies from France I presume there is a black market in France And every one of them should be returned back across the channel to france from were they escaped Now stop talking nonsense |
By:
^ not saying ( whatever , they should be returned )
By:
...and then they try again and maybe this time succeed and disappear into the black market over here.
Sounds like a plan. |
By:
It's no good sticking to rules that are subject to interpretation.
You have to interpret them to suit yourself. If the courts rule against you, then too bad. That's what the rest of Europe does. Do what has to be done to stop them from coming across in boats. Then talk about the law later. |
By:
You don't know what you are saying.
You said Macron and all the EU leaders are responsible for their deaths, how? |
By:
This has all been said before.
They don't want to stop them coming. |
By:
Pp They may try again , but once they set foot in England , and before we can monitor every dinghie
They can and should then be returned |
By:
At least Rwanda (if we ever used it) would act like a deterrent. Your plan is basically just saying they land on a snake and go back a few places.
By:
Lapsy , if every person who travels from France to England by dinghie
Is returned to France then no one will be travelling to England by dinghie - no one That will save lives . And that is why France and macaron and the EU are responsible for these deaths |
By:
Were we returning the lorry migrants when we were a member state nobby? The issue is more complicated than the arrangements between two neighbouring states. We have signed up to international agreements and have our own internal laws on people trafficking. If people claim asylum here we have to process them.
