Well, I had a £500 premium bond prize last month and two £25 ones this month. That's better than losing half your money gambling on Bitcoin surely?
By:
Still well in profit here polly .. not in the slightest bit concerned
Brief respite for the markets somewhere around these levels I reckon ... 3980/4000 s+p should offer some support..then correction/consolidation before inflation print |
By:
Why gamble?
By:
Why not read up on what it actually is ?
By:
It's fine if you don't understand polly.. a lot don't
but don't come here preaching unless you can define bitcoin in one concise sentence |

Bitcoin value drops by 50% since November peak
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-61375152 . The value of Bitcoin has dropped below $33,000 (£26,720) - less than half of what it was at its peak last November, according to the Coinbase cryptocurrency exchange. Are you saying this is incorrect? |
By:
Ok pal.. look I don't debate with pork
You're actually not very bright.. you should count your lucky stars you managed to run a business and got out well in front Good luck with your bonds |
By:
It wasn't luck, it was through hard work.
By:
If you wish to gamble on things like Bitcoin, be prepared to accept that you could be wiped out.
By:
Sure thanks for advice
Someone who does months of due diligence on an asset before investing and then pulls the trigger and makes a return of 1000/2000 % is a gambler ? Like I say.. you're not bright enough to understand the asset so why question someone who does ? You look stupid enough on here most of the time don't go adding to it .... there's a good boy |
By:
Well, unlike you, I
By:
Well, unlike you, I haven't gambled half my money away on Bitcoin since November.
By:
If you are foolish enough to continue to gamble on something as volatile as Bitcoin, you have to accept that you could lose a great deal of money.
By:
Well if it makes you feel clever then have at it ....
By:
It's simple common sense, don't gamble on very volatile markets.
By:
ok Polly thanks again for pointing me in the right direction
I'll be selling up and getting into premium bonds first thing ... I'll also be getting a wife and coming on the forum to tell everyone about my properties and piles of cash or not way way ahead of you anyway difference being I don't need to tell everyone because I'm not insecure like that you make me laugh so thanks for that though |
By:
Premium bonds is one of the things I have money invested in. Politics betting is probably the most profitable thing I do in percentage terms.
By:
You don't do "months of due diligence" to invest in Bitcoin or S$$tcoin.
Bitcoin has halved since last Nov. Hopefully, it will halve again this year and next year. But there is a very real possibility that there will be a stampede for the exit crashing the price to approx zero. Don't buy now. If you have crypto, sell it before it is worthless. If you believe it the price is "going to the moon", to coin a phrase "Get out of Doge!" |

An interesting comment to say the least from the forum sage Last few months we've seen trillion dollar caps fall off a cliff in a heartbeat Tesla down 43% from jan to feb Meta dropped over 23% after bad numbers Amazon another and plenty other big names doing double digits sharpo Nasdaq now down over 9% since end of last week and big caps again off by 5-10% this is what is known as a volatile market Polly Now , are you saying that people trading these assets don't have common sense ? Please help me to understand exactly how you became 'successful' with mince for brains ? |
By:
I became successful through hard work, loyalty and mutual respect with long term customers and staff.

are you saying that people trading these assets don't have common sense ?

Today's dip to (now) $31,200 is very significant: - it means that ANYONE who got on board in the last 12 months has to sell at a loss.
It is going to halve and halve agein, only question is When? Bail out tomorrow, clouded leopard. |
By:
Sure. The danger is that extremely volatile markets such as Bitcoin can leave you destitute. If you understand and accept that there is no quick route to a fortune by trading them, perhaps you can avoid the worst of it. There are guaranteed to be plenty of bad times, some very bad.
By:
Oh, and plenty of very good days too of course.
By:
Bitcoin is down 9% today, 18% this week, 26% this month and 46% this year. Now you can be like the man who put everything on red in the hope of getting your money back or you can take a step back and cut your losses for now.
By:
Sorry.
Nobody thinks you are "successful" politicspunter. |
By:
Polly only equates success with money and oneupmanship
One trick pony sad |

By:
On the contrary, happiness is success. A loving wife and family.

Whatever people feel the base case for BTC is, it moves with high risk assets currently. So when risk is off, so is BTC. The vast majority of people holding it, only do so in the hope of selling it to someone else at a higher level. Personally I don't feel that's a hugely appealing option, value being determined by sentiment alone. However I'm not rude about people who do want to get involved, as they know the risk.
fwiw I don't feel like there is much further to go with commodities in the immediate term, I've reduced my holding to 25% of what it was. |

The global cryptocurrency market entered its worst phase ever on Tuesday, with Bitcoin dropping below $30,000 per coin and leaving millions of investors in a panic mode.
The overall global cryptocurrency market dropped 13 per cent, and was hovering around $1.37 trillion market cap, which is its lowest this year. Bitcoin was more than 55 per cent down since its all-time high of $69,000 in November last year. Other digital coins also suffered double-digit-percentage drops, led by Cardano (20 per cent), Solana (16 per cent), XRP (13 per cent), BNB (16 per cent), and Ethereum (10 per cent), Decrypt reported. Experts said that rising interest rates, along with weakening economic activity, has created a risk-off environment. Terraform Labs (TFL), the organisation behind UST, cryptocurrency LUNA, and Luna Foundation Guard (LFG) emptied its treasury wallet of all of its bitcoin (about 42,530 bitcoin) or $1.3 billion. The UST stablecoin lost its 1:1 dollar peg ratio for the second time in the past three days and dropped as much as 5.3 per cent to 95 cents on Monday, reports TechCrunch. Bull markets end
Bear markets begin It's called a cycle in previous bear cycles we have seen almost every time a correction of up to 75/85% in bitcoin and more in the alts therefore entirely possible we go to $10/15k on this run over next 12/18months ... long termers have seen it all before.. |
