With a bit of luck all this will be over one way or another very soon. Personally I think these trade deal area bit like the car or more to the point the internal combustion engine, absolutely essential up until a now, but in the future a thing of the past. Modern technology will have renderd them obsolete

Level playing field for the industries the UK want access - very reasonable.
Access to fish commensurate with the market which vast majority of UK fish go - also reasonable No border in Ireland - unfortunately border between GB and NI - as per 2 international agreements - bit tough, but also reasonable. Good to go soon. - once Boris signs that off.Dont expect any more ultimatums (beginning to look ridiculous) - think there may have been another one this week "talks are finished". EU: "whatever" |

By the way Aka, I know all about the word Sassenach. Dont thinks its derogatory at all - original meaning Saxons - they use the same term over in Ireland.
Saxons weren't really the problem - it was their conquerors the Normans that caused trouble wherever they went ![]() |

Can tell the historical Saxons don't have much in common with the modern ones.

When working over there I asked them about it - they said "sassenach" (the Irish might spell it differently) was kind of a fun term for the English, "tan" was also a term for the English but it was derogatory. "Brit" was just general, common usage as much as English is used.
I was very pleased to hear "Brit" does not generally refer to Scots. ![]() |

The sad thing, well at least for you Wallflower

Good one, lp - closer but probably not derogatory enough for Burt's general purposes

Some ghoul wrote today that the English, if given the choice, would throw Scotland out of the Union in a hurry and with an overwhelming majority.
Is that true? |

I'll just have to ask Foinavon. People like Burt and Crippen don't like grammar questions.

Foinavon (or anyone), what's wrong with "Blimey, where did you get that name for me from?" in regards to its grammar?

It's amazing Burt and I'd have to say, to their credit or is it discredit, they have refused to accept Brexit.
Hiroo Onoda would be so proud of them although unlike him I doubt this lot will ever be seen as heroes. |

Burt, you are quoting The Express!,i knew it,i warned lfc about it and he had the good grace to acknowledge that it was messin with his head, you are on a slippery slope there, that is all i'm going to say.

Foinavon (or anyone), what's wrong with "Blimey, where did you get that name for me from?" in regards to its grammar? Nothing really although it is considered bad form in pedantic circles to end a sentence with a preposition even though everyone, apart from pedants, does it. I would rearrange it as "Blimey, from where... |

Never mind your dumb ass sentence. Back to topic kn0b heads. Brexit talks to RESTART: Boris accepts EU capitulation after Barnier humiliating defeat https://www.express.co.uk/news/politics/1350633/Brexit-news-boris-johnson-michel-barnier-uk-eu-trade-deal-latest-david-frost-no-dea Let's stick it up these bent wnkstains. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Had to get some sleep - work, y'knw. early start this morning. Would engage - but you're mistaken this thread is not a "topic" FFS - its just an exercise in the usual delusional wishful thinking. Daily Express -get a life FFS.By the way, you have a filty mouth on you - if it was funny or witty you could let it pass. Just sounds juvenile, angry and boring. But I suppose we'll have to put up with it, allow some slack given your lack of vocabulary. ![]() |
