OK. I was wrong when I said I wouldn't comment any further, but as you have misquoted me I think I would like to correct you. I said he was "dressed like a tramp". I didn't describe him as a tramp. There is a big difference.

I personally didn't think he was dressed anything like a tramp.

markzzz makes a good point. I dislike Johnson but recognise the kernel of truth in this assessment of him from a more dislikable character, Crispin Odey:

He said: "My phrase is, there's Boris One and Boris Two. Boris One is a charming guy who tries to get everything by charming people, and bringing a bit of enthusiasm where there hasn't been any. And says 'come on, surely you can see where your future lies'. That's Boris One.

"Boris Two, which nobody's really seen, is the one where Boris One has been denied and he is then fighting for his survival. And the interesting thing is, all of the risks to Boris about being unscrupulous then become part of his genius."

It was this unscrupulous "Boris", he said, that could be prepared to prorogue parliament and appoint new lords in order to get Brexit through.

politicspunter simply gets everything wrong. If Johnson were the bumbling fool he presents with, what does that make us who oppose him?

First PMQs I have seen for a while.

I see what people mean about a bumbling stumbling performance. But, I thought that they were talking about the blond bloke?

What Starmer must remember is 'Revenge is a dish best served cold'. Let us see what the wooden post does when the wind really does start to blow. Anyone who thinks this is Boris in full flow has a surprise awaiting. Enjoy the moment.

I never put the Guardian report in so I agree someone has an unhealthy obsession. I doubt you think like that though PP.

Johnson never had to stand up his rhetorical flourishes; anyone can write uninterrupted.

He's an unscrupulous, wily politician, intent on making the people of this country poorer.

Obviously I hope he fails, by whatever means fate has in store for him.

The worst thing for the UK would be if the country persisted with a figurehead PM patently unfit for the jog - like Churchill after a stroke.

Keep a close eye on Johnson, he may be nearer to a cabbage than we think.

It's virtually every post you say it's something to do with the Guardian, whether it's opinion polls, European websites, posters on here or links. Think about it, it's becoming embarrassing for you.

Paul Johnson of @TheIFS, who knows a thing or two about the public finances, says exempting migrant health and care workers from the NHS surcharge would cost around £90m, a tenth of the £900m @BorisJohnson said it would cost in reply to @Keir_Starmer today

I don't put the Guardian posts up PP. I am just responding to the lemmings who believe what they are saying. The Guardian is anti UK, pro Brexit and anti Boris. I am just pointing this out to the lemmings. Trying to stop them diving off the cliff. Laugh

It's never too late United. All these things were said before Boris wiped the board in the General Election.

If I were you I would have a good think at coming on here and calling folks lemmings at random. You have proved what a mug you were in that bitcoin scam.

Keir Starmer
(@Keir_Starmer)

Boris Johnson is right to have u-turned and backed our proposal to remove the NHS charge for health professionals and care workers.
This is a victory for common decency and the right thing to do.
We cannot clap our carers one day and then charge them to use our NHS the next.
By:

The Prime Minister
I have thought a great deal about this, and I accept and understand the difficulties faced by our amazing NHS staff. Like the right hon. and learned Gentleman, I have been a personal beneficiary of carers who have come from abroad and frankly saved my life. I know exactly the importance of what he asks. On the other hand, we must look at the realities. This is a great national service—it is a national institution—that needs funding, and those contributions help us to raise about £900 million. It is very difficult in the current circumstances to find alternative sources, so with great respect for the right hon. and learned Gentleman’s point, I think it is the right way forward.

Keir Starmer
I am disappointed, because the Prime Minister knows how raw this is. The fee in question, the immigration health surcharge, is currently £400 a year. From October, that goes up to £624 a year. For a careworker on the national living wage, that will require working for 70 hours to pay off the fee.

The Doctors Association and a number of medical groups wrote to the Home Secretary this week, and they set it out this way:

“At a time when we are mourning colleagues, your steadfast refusal to reconsider the deeply unfair immigration health surcharge is a gross insult to all”—

of us—

“who are serving this country at its time of greatest need.”

We agree, and Labour will table amendments to the immigration Bill to exempt NHS and careworkers from this charge. Can I urge the Prime Minister to reconsider his view as we go through this crisis?

The Prime Minister
I have given my answer, ….

It takes real leadership to change your mind.

It is easy for Starmer because he and his front bench can only spend their days looking for ways to score points. Boris and his front bench are managing a pandemic and running the country. Good one Boris.
By:
moondan
When: 21 May 20 18:52
Brigast, The performance of the conservatives in handling this pandemic is beyond belief and as somebody who has voted for them in the past it has been a real shock.
Boris is a joke and stooping that low in promoting  him borders on insanity.
In fact its difficult to pick out anyone with good old tory class its such a shambles.
