if programme motion goes down that's the DUP happy as sand boys, johnson obviously give up on them over Brexit and puts them in play for all amendments if it goes ahead
also suggests he hasn't given some of the tory rebels the amendment they wanted on fta extention

Johnson threatening a general election because Parliament might want a few more days to scrutinise his Withdrawal Bill. Pathetic. What has he got to hide?

Interesting fact: The government’s position in the Supreme Court battle over the PM closing down Parliament was a) Parliament’s sovereign role is to scrutinise, make and unmake legislation & b) MPs would have a full opportunity and sufficient time to scrutinise Brexit legislation
Report OnePercenter October 22, 2019 3:32 PM BST
I think Boris is wasting his time trying to get any Brexit legislation through parliament with all the lying Remainer Labour & Tory MPs currently in the house.

Let them go back to their constituencies and stand on a Remain ticket at the GE.

Once we have a HoC that truly reflects the will of the people Brexit legislation should fly through

there are several posters on here who voted to leave but dont trust bozo and his cronies it isnt just remainers.

i dont see any experts in constitutional law or trade saying it is a good idea to rush this act through. eurosceptic @davidallengreen on twitter (well worth following)  says he needs a couple of weeks to even have a general sense of all the implications of the bill, just reading it isnt enough.

So as it stands if Mps vote for bill and to speed it up we will leave on 31st Oct and immediately enter more negotiations on the actual terms when we have left transition and if they aren't complete by end Dec 2020, which nobody thinks they will be (including Barnier who will lead the EU team) then we will leave with no deal on the whole future relationship - can someone please tell me what certainty this gives to business and anyone else that wants certainty for more than a few hours?
Report OnePercenter October 22, 2019 6:01 PM BST
The EU say they will never be responsible for no deal so in the next stage they will be under pressure to deliver a FTA.

That gives the UK leverage.

Having said that a FTA is a no brainer for the EU as they have a trading surplus with the UK.
Report ----you-have-to-laugh--- October 22, 2019 6:05 PM BST

Feck me - you really have learnt nowt from the previous 3 years have you? Even if that is all correct what about the business' that want certainty now and have held back investment until the picture becomes clearer? As it stands those companies (that want to continue trading with the EU as they were) are just going to move abroad (some already have) and there will likely be a huge exodus over the next year or so if it comes to pass as Pfefffle has laid out. Even if it is as you describe it will be a year before things become clear which is just too long for many when there has been no respite and no oppo to invest.

And has been pointed out about a million times on this forum alone that was based on doing what Davey said he would do and implement A50 the day after the result and the decline in the economy is about in the middle of forecasts - 3% smaller as of June 2019
