How on earth do you expect a targeted operation eliminating terrorist tunnels to distinguish between a hole in the ground and a child in a hospital?
Collateral damage. Nothing to be seen here. Move along please ...

Yes you would Gus, buying rockets instead of drugs, is bad news for children.
Firing rockets at towns is not going to win an NSPCC award for caring for children.
Why don't you think you can tell the difference between buying a book and buying an explosive rocket? I would have thought an adult who does not have learning difficulties would be able to tell the difference.

well, if they told me they were buying rockets, or books then of course i'd have take their word for it.
i'd have no other way of telling, just as if they told me they didn't possess any nuclear warheads i'd have to take their word for it until someone proved the contrary.
sadly, my investigative powers are somewhat limited, tho if i see the corpse of a child and a tank firing shells into the child's school or refuge, i do tend to jump to conclusions.

It is pretty much cutting edge PhD Statistics, but those OxBridge boffins have identified a correlation between firing rockets at your neighbours & getting weapons fired back.

It's not that big a deal or especially offensive in the grand scheme of things. I am not in the least ashamed to admit that my wife does indeed use a wheelchair and in Melly's words is a cripple and she herself describes her blue badge as her mong badge. You have to keep a sense of humour. Of course Melly doesn't have one.

To answer your question I'm pretty sure you aren't gus Melly. When I was a boy we didn't have much money and a Saturday treat was when our mum brought home a bag of broken biscuits from the market. For some reason the thought of those biscuits reminds me of you. Not the warm fuzzy feeling of a loving family having a simple treat. Just the broken bit. Just thik what they could do if they put your brain back together and think of all the spare bits they'd have after they had swept up the crumbs.

so, the idea is that if you don't prevent other people from doing what they consider appropriate, you are guilty by association and deserve to share in collective punishment?
there are international laws against that kind of rationalisation, and for good reasons which, hopefully, i don't need to rehearse here.

No. I'm very much against collective punishment gus. It's a very useful recruiting tool. I'm also against hiding guns and rockets amongst civilian populations, schools and hospitals knowing full well what will happen. I'd like to see the people of Palestine saying collectively that they disagree with such action

Yes I would gus. One of the rules of being a good guy is you have to differentiate yourself from the bad guys and being immune or seeming to be immune to the suffering of innocents blurs the dividing line in my view. When I was a young slugger I used to get a warm feeling taking a bully down a peg or two. I once bullied and beat up someone without proper justification. I regret it to this day.

i think it's high time you start blaming your mum for bringing home broken biscuits instead of some decent food causing your brain to under develop from malnutrition

I think in the present situation where Israeli soldiers are in Gazza and have shown and are killing more civilians than the enemy Hammas do have some responsibility for the deaths of their people, many of which I would consider war crimes.
Hammas should be wearing uniforms and be willing to die in those uniforms in order to try and protect innocent civilians on their side. Its one thing using certain tactics to fight a guerrilla war against a much stronger equipped enemy but Hammas should see their main role as one of defending their people. Wearing uniforms would result in more Hammas casualties but lots less of their cibilians would die and that should be a price a Hammas soldier is willing to pay.

I had a very happy upbringing Melly. A much loved and loving family. Home cooked meals from scratch every night. Just enough discipline not to go off the rails but enough freedom to make and learn from our mistakes. The orphanage can't have been fun for you. I'll bet you still sleep with one eye open.

1 If Hamas were to hand back the soldier alive, it would show an intent for peace.
2 Someone needs to tell Israel that by killing more civilians you are making Hamas stronger and this will never go away.

All around the Middle East there are terrorist organisations,(isis,Islamic Jihad,Hesbollah,Muslim Brotherhood etc.)many of them linked for a "common cause",causing mayhem, and many deaths, yet when it involves Israel the keyboards start smoking. It appears that the handwringers think that Hamas are ok,and are a peaceful lot.Except they conveniently like to forget how long they have been accumalating their rockets, and missiles, and building tunnels, all for acts of terror, and murder. And how many rockets were fired before the cry went out that enough was enough. Yes,the results have been devastating, but wouldn't have happened without the above. They say the truth hurts.Well it certainly appears to be the case on this forum. During the numerous "ceasefires",rockets were still fired(and from houses),and that is on record.
