aye wont be long now til tel aviv gets another long range rocket attack that will need instantly avenged, another riechstag jobby.

It isn't a response to rockets. It is in response to Palestine gaining recognition in the UN.
Those that tend to side with Israel should consider this. Going to the UN did not involve any bloodshed. It is a democratic organisation and the Palestinians put their application before the UN in the correct way. It was overwhelmingly supported. Serious countries supported it as well, including France and Spain. The response? The theft of the most sensitive part of the West Bank. Now I very much hope that the Palestinians continue to use peaceful means of pursuing their objective. But let there be no doubt as to how Israel respond to such attempts. They steal land. And let there be no more "okay, I accept that the settlements are wrong, but . . . ." The settlements are the key weapon of Israel, and used as such. They cannot be removed from the discussion as an inconvenience. They explicitly are the problem. |

The borders are disputed, and for sure nobody knows who is right and who is wrong. Those that THINK they know go by what they read on websites without any proof.
Regarding Palestine and the UN,it is 5 years since since Abbas,or any other PA authority, has visited Gaza,in fear of the reception they may have received, and for their lives.Law and order, what a joke!!! PA scared of the people that didn't vote for them, says it all.Add to the equation the splinter groups of terrorists that think even Hamas doesn't go far enough!!!!Hey no,cryoftruth, manxy, bazzar, think that they are moderates that you can have dialogue with!!Deluded or what. No,just full of bitter hatred. |
|
By:
They explicitly are the problem.
No they're not, it goes a lot deeper than that. The settlements are only a sympton of the problem which is the hatred of Israel by the Arabs. Until that changes, Israel might as well do what is best for themselves. |

Dr. Crippen, the anti Zionists that post on here know so little about the situation, yet post as if they are totally clued up.IF they were clued up they would see the REAL situation, but unfortunately they don't want to,and also don't want to admit that they are racially motivated.
I get first hand information from the area, including from Lebanon, but on here that counts for zilch, due to preconceived ideas from the anti brigade. One death in Gaza and the keyboards are smoking ,dozens of deaths in the other Middle East countries, and guess what!No threads started, silent keyboards, that says all you need to know. |

Thats odd, the other day when Israelis were executed without trial and dragged round behind motorbikes, sib just shrugged his shoulders. His stance on this forum is becoming more and more ridiculous, he won't even go near the thread about the ranting black lady. |

You could tell them time and time again that land is NOT the issue, never has been, that is an excuse.Acceptance of the right to EXIST is the problem, always has been, and at least the terrorists admit to that. They don't hide the fact that they will NEVER ACCEPT a Westernised Democracy as their neighbour.

This is such complete and utter rubbish and shows an amazing ignorance. The UN and all but around 7 countries in the whole world dispute the 67 boundaries. The continued theft of land will end sadly in an utter disaster for the region. You callow destroys whole people and steal all their land without creating long lasting fanatism and hatred. |

"which other 'Westernised Democracy' gives its troops guaranteed immunity from prosecution for war crimes, committed against his countries neighburs"
So why was this fella prosecuted? http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-19243246 Anyone would think you just made that up. |

the irony, were you hoping no-one would open the, israel investigating one of its own, and then cearing him, does not negate one word i typed,
Now show one, just one IDF soldier handed over fo prosecution by the UN when requested, they refuse to name them, never mind hand them over, oh they will jail their own military, i mean they jailed a jet pilot for 2 years. he ofcourse was the one that refused to fire upon the USS liberty, as coms traffic later confirmed, he was ordered 3 times to fire upon the liberty, and 3 times he refused to fire upon a ship carrying US ensignia in international waters, he was ordered back to base and court marshalled, whil his colleges set about sinking her, with prejudice and zero survivor orders, hence the straffing of the life-boats by the torpedo boats carrying jordanian insignia. |

You said Isreal guaranteed its soldiers immunity from prosecution for 'war crimes'.
Provide a link to prove this and I'll happily concede the point. |

By:
correct.
The UN prosecute war crimes, hth. |

Yes. it helps.
You made it up. Thanks. |

we will see, i love people like you, those that give the opportunity to link, and broaden a discussion, i will be back 'after' racing, perhaps in that time you could do as you request, and provide just one meaningful instance of.....
Now show one, just one IDF soldier handed over fo prosecution by the UN when requested, |

When reading this total tosh that famous expression comes to mind, namely"A little knowledge is a dangerous thing".Add to that,no knowledge is even worse!Amazing how posters get a "bee in their bonnet" about this issue,on which they make wrong assumptions, due to their lack of knowledge and understanding, only seeing the parts that suit their biased agenda.
Meanwhile their is 100% proof, not merely assumptions, of daily attrocities in Syria,Libya,Pakistan,Egypt,Afghanistan etc. etc.,which don't warrant a mention by the "intelligentsia". The reason being the Westernised Democracy they have bitter hatred for is not involved,so these countries get overlooked, they can't make a comment about them. |

"As long as Palestine is ours and Palestine is the land of Arabism and Islam, we can never recognise the legitimacy of Israel's occupation of it," he told supporters.
"There is no legitimacy for occupation. Hence, there is no legitimacy for Israel, however long time lasts." Khaled Meshaal How do you negotiate with someone who doesn't recognise your right to exist? Why would Hamas feel obliged to honour an agreement with a country it doesn't recognise? |
|
By:
Highly ironic statement by Verybiased - a little knowledge is a dangerous thing. He has demonstrated an utter ignorance on most everything and is clearly one of the most stupid people posting on here.
He tries to equate a civil war in Syria with the persistent Israeli land grab. It's hard to imagine a more brainless comparison . Britain and other European countries will consider "further steps" if Israel refuses to reverse its plans for settlement expansion after a wave of diplomatic protests, the foreign secretary, William Hague, has told parliament. Australia and Brazil joined five European countries in summoning Israeli ambassadors to hear condemnation of plans to build thousands of settler homes and develop highly sensitive land east of Jerusalem. The Israeli announcement is seen as a direct response to the UN's recognition of Palestine as a non-member observer state. In addition to last week's announcement, which came within hours of the UN vote, Israel said on Tuesday it would proceed with two more construction programmes in East Jerusalem. One plan, for 1,600 homes in Ramat Shlomo, caused a major diplomatic crisis when it was originally announced, during an official visit by the US vice-president, Joe Biden, in the spring of 2010; the second planned expansion, of 2,600 homes in Givat Hamatos, will further impede access between Jerusalem and Bethlehem. Despite international fury over the proposals, Hague suggested that economic sanctions against Israel were unlikely. He said: "I don't think there is enthusiasm … about economic sanctions in Europe on Israel. I don't believe there would be anywhere near a consensus, nor is that our approach. We continue to try to bring both sides back to negotiations. "Nevertheless, if there is no reversal of the decision that has been announced, we will want to consider what further steps European countries should take." So even the Tory foreign secretary is considering some action about the latest. Disgusting thieving of Palestinian land by Israel. Of course nothing likely to make the slightest difference like economic sanctions, but a sign that even Israel's keenest supporters are struggling to accept the latest spate of thefts. That is aside from the genius that is Verybiased..... |

By:
The fact is that there would be peace talks ongoing and Hamas would certainly be signed up to them if it was not for the continued theft of Palestinian land by Israel. It was their refusal to agree to a cessation of settlement of Palestinian land that led to the last breakdown of peace talks. It is Israeli refusal to stop stealing the land of the Palestinians that obstructs peace.
This decision by Israel to obstruct peace by continued land theft is a clear demonstration that they put the need to steal land before peace. |
|
By:
They wouldn't be signed up to anything. Ever. They've said so.
"...there is no legitimacy for Israel, however long time lasts" Why can't you acknowledge this simple fact? Why do you continue to delude yoourself that Hamas are interested in peace? |

Irish-Celtic,another anti Zionist to pop out of the woodwork, with his highly inaccurate and deluded views of imaginary mass slaughter of women and children in Gaza.Perhaps he needs enlightening that the slaughter of women and children is regularly perpetrated in Pakistan,Syria,Afghanistan,Libya,Iraq etc. etc.
He also needs enlightening that any misery brought to the civilians of this terrorist area in Gaza, are the result of terrorist actions against innocents, including women and children in the neighbouring Westernised Democracy. When you see Palestinian children given a mock suicide bomb-belt,then you see what their aims and ideals are,but the anti brigade on here still think it is about land. Attacks, and suicide bombings were the norm long before any land was taken in "disputed areas",hence the wall, and numerous blockades, which have eradicated the problem. A missile aimed into a civilian area is not an act of war according to these anti posters.Hundreds aimed into civilian areas with the inevitable retaliation causes horror. When you consider how many air strikes there were and how minimal the casualties were,it speaks for itself. Why posters jump on this bandwaggon and ignore the mass murder in the countries quoted above is obvious for all to see,as they have an agenda. |
|
By:
people go on about the innocent women and children being slaughtered by israel
but as I say - what have hamas got lined up with these children in combats and headbands superb indoctrination at an early age |

I keep saying that we on the left really struggle with these questions. We feel we need to support revolution against dictators and nazi type regimes. We also want to protect minorities with our so britsh sense of fair play.
Unfortunately we confuse what is fair and right, with terrorism/freedom fighters. We also don't want to admit to some of these minorities taking advantage of us. If we admit that we give in to the nazi right wind propaganda. So we shut up. |
|
By:
Strange kind of democracy you speak of that allows genoicde, collective punisments, and land grabs.Ita a shame you and your family didnt have to sit in a house in gaza city for a week and see how safe you felt since the airstrikes were so precise an "minimal ".
|
|
By:
THe simple answer is for the families of Hamas terrorists firing Grad and Kassam rockets and missiles into civilian areas, not to do so ,as they are putting their families at risk,as the launchers are placed in densely populated areas, and the necessary retaliation will result in fatalities. The only problem is THEY DON'T CARE.
