The last 5 were offered a deal on the ICM calculation model.
Jose had 382k 6900 euro Jaime had 342k 6581 Linn 186k 5089 Yngle 169k 4896 Joan 840k 9420 And 3000 euro to the winner All seemed happy except Yngle who turned it down flat so on we play! |
By:
I totally agree with Yngle! would be extremely silly to accept 5K. The bigger stacks have more to lose than Yngle. Please tell him he has Klup's blessing ftw!
By:
Yngste raises and Jaime shoves for about the 3rd time in the last 4 hands.
Yngste calls and shows AA and Jaime shows AQ Flop T T 8 turn 6 river 4 and yngste after turning down the deal justifies the decision by doubling up. |
By:
Becoming very cagey, lots of raise folding with no real apparent chance of any all in's at the moment.
Yngle doubling up has shaken up the table soemwhat! ![]() |
By:
Jose proposed a deal to the table but Yngle turned it down so no calculation was done.
This young man is not for turning though Matt has tried! ![]() ![]() |

Linn
shoves after Joan raises to 60k and joan callslinn turns over A7 and Joan has K4 A flop of 5 6 J turn Q and River J improves no-one and Linn doubles through as her Ace holds! ![]() |
By:
what are the blinds now and still 5 remaining?
By:
Blinds now 8k/16k with a running 2k ante with a break in 9 minutes
By:
Cheers and gl to Yngste who spotted spotted something that makes him think he has an edge.
By:
what would the top 5 payout be if it is played to the end ?
By:
We are just about to restart after a 15 minute break with 10k/20k blinds and a 2k running ante.
5 players remain with an average of 384k Joan is still the clear chip leader! |
By:
Top 5 payout as it stands
16,046 8709 4814 3610 2707 |
By:
Hold on to your teeth - we're off again!
By:
Joan 3 bets all in to Jaime on a 4 6 8 flop and Jaime has no option but to fold.
By:
thank you HF . hmmm... 5k doesnt seem too bad a deal to me for bottom stack. thats 3rd position money
By:
So ghad, its better to take 4850 instead of 2700 yet miss out on 16000? He might as well have just played a $500 stt online would you not think?
By:
Yngle goes out in 5th for 2707 euro
Jaime shoves and Yngle calls, Jaime shows 88 and Yngle AQ. Flop of T 7 5 all hearts gives Yngle extra aots but ta 5s and 8d dooms Yngle to 5th place! [ This image is no longer available. ] |
By:
Two hands later Linn raises but commits herself and has to call Joan's shove.
She show Qs Ts and him AQos A dead flop of 9 high and no spades makes Linns odds extreme and a King on the turn gives her a gutshot but the river is a 2 and Linn goes home in 4th with 3610 euro. [ This image is no longer available. ] ![]() ![]() |
By:
The last three players are all Spanish local players and are currently discussing an ICM deal!
By:
An ICM deal has been reached
Jose 545k got 8462 euro Jaime 472k 8039 Joan 932k 10,068 And they play for 3000 euro and the title! |
By:
A tribute to Linn
![]() ![]() ![]() |
By:
Well played all and great reporting HF
By:
klup.. thats a matter of opinion.. at the time of the deal he was 5th.. 5k means he gets what he would if he got 3rd.. Should he be so lucky and win it he gets another 3k = 8k which is what 2nd gets.. so i dont think its that bad
By:
Jaime doubles up.
Joan shoves on a T 7 3 board and Jaime calls. Jaime shows T3 and Joan 96. No 8 arrives so we rumble on. As a side note I lost the will to live when Linn exited! ![]() ![]() |
By:
thank you for the report HF
well entertaining |
By:
I was very sad to see the 'Tribute to Linn'. I was under the impression that she came 4th rather than died, so very sad news indeed.
Let us never forget... ![]() |
By:
We are HU.
Jaime shoves and Jose calls. Jaime shows KQ and Jose AK. The board comes 5 7 9 7 3 And Jaime leaves with his 8039 euro. ![]() ![]() |
By:
Heads up chip count...
Jose 1,443,000 Joan 497,800 Iknow they dont add up right but our TD gave me the figures and they must be close! |
By:
For Linn the Betfair Poker Live Costa Brava Tournament is no more
May her poker career live on Long live Linn ![]() |
By:
All in HU.
Jose shows 9cTc and Joan Kc7c The flop is QQ4 with 2 clubs and a 7 and a King means Joan doubles up and is now just the chip leader. |
By:
All in HU again Jose shows AT and Joan A9.
A flop of 6 K 5 looks good for jose but a 9 on the turn and Q on the river gives Joan the hand, Jose is left with rubble but is still alive! |
By:
When I say rubble I mean around 300k
By:
Jose quickly doubles up when his A7 holds v K4 on a 9 3 2 3 8 board.
All things seem to take a long time in Spain! ![]() ![]() |
By:
We have a champion.....
Jose shoves with JhTh and Joan calls with Ad6d Flop A Kh 9 Turn 7h gives Jose a zillion outs but the 4d on the river gives Joan Bel the championship and the extra 3000 euro. Joan wins13,068 Euro! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
By:
Joan also collected 13 bounty's and kept his own so got another 1050 euro on top.
A deserving champion and a nice guy! |
By:
Big thanks to HF for his sterling work and well done Joan a worthy winner
Thanks for reading .... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

The Waster said:
"Q. "How many tables are left?" A. "1" Q. "So this is the final table?" A. "No. It's the last table." Q. "So are there any more tables?" A. "No." Q. "So this - many could argue - is the final table of the tournament?" A. "No." Q. "Are you SURE?" A. "Completemente." Q. "Can you offer me anything more convincing?" A. "Would you like a plier?" Ok, all tournament directors miss that point that you surprisingly discovered, but the problem is that. I make a payout structure with a 9-final table, 10th place earns same money as 13th, I have 2 choices: -Make the bubble in a two 5-handed hand to hand mode (players in general don´t like that) -Make the bubble in 1 table, easier for everybody (mandatory following TDA) This is 2003 WSOP, 10 players remain in 1 table, and it´s not THE FINAL TABLE. Moneymaker eliminates Ivey http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0nWbBcC8iM4. Ivey only reaches final table in November nine, but not that year Gus Hansen was eliminated in Partouche in last table, but it wasn´t the final table. Even in Spain we have a hard discussion when Juan Maceiras, a Spanish player that finishes in 9th place in a EPT (again, one table, AND NOT THE FINAL TABLE) and he claimed that made a final table (he will get afterwards twice, but not in that tournament) and poker press not And tell us Waster, when a final table "plier" gets same money as a 13th place in two tables? |

Well said CostaBravaTD! Next time you see TheWaster in Spain, you have my full support to beat him repeatedly with a feather!!

Thanks for joining in CostaBrava TD!
God bless you "pop pop" (as you were known throughout the room)! As I'm sure you probably guessed deep down, we were mucking about in our posts. We all knew what you were doing - especially cosidering I was the one that told you to do it this way (I was the chap with the goatee beard you had the "how would you like the Final Table" meeting with!) It was exactly as we had agreed (i.e. as per EPT last nine/last ten, etc.) and you and your guys did an absolutely excellent job executing the final table (and indeed the last table!) We were just bored waiting for someone to get knocked out and amusing ourselves on the forum. Thanks again to you and your crew. As a special thanks I'm having Betfair-branded pliers made and shipped over for you and all your poker/DIY enthusiast friends! All the best! |

I am with CostaBravaTD on this one.
![]() Is this microphone envy I sense here Waster? ![]() ![]() I certainly agree with The Wasters last post, the tournament was executed with great enthusiasm and expertise by the casino staff and CBTD kept me updated with any information he could and certainly made my job easier! |
