January 2013 Performance
A poor month by comparison with recent years with 4 winners from 34 (UK) runners.
All for winners came in latter part of month (23rd onwards) and both Broxbourne and Rose Ransom had a previous run within the month.

Both winners were fillies and running over longer distances than previously ran. Rose Ransom was a Dermot Weld cast off and won on her 2nd outing for M.J. They were rare F class (6) hcp winners as Rose Ransom is only the 3rd filly to beat the colt/geldings in January month since 1995.
Similarly Broxbourne is only the 2nd winner in 4yo+ Hcps for the same month, although there have been few participants at this grade.

Henry The Navigator was a FTO winner in 3yo Mdn (the 4th since 1995) and Tribal Path a Long Break (90 day+) winner in 3yo+ Mdn (the 6th such winner but the first 3yo colt to win after a Long Lay off)

As the guy says at end of TV's Pointless "You did very well if you got any of those"
