Running profit for May 22 points - profit for April was 22.5 points at starting price.
For the benefit of any new viewers the sole purpose of this blog is to make money month after month by betting on flat racing. Profits are calculated at starting price so everyone can get on even though prices are usually available at much bigger odds at time of posting on these exchanges. Unfortunately we will go without winners at times so if you are following me please keep a bank available to ensure you can ride out those losses. Bets are between 1 and 5 points.
Trappy at present due to the ground so stakes modest today:-
2.50 ASCOT - CERTRAL 1PT EACH WAY
This yard is going well at present and Certral ran an eyecatching race at Nottingham last time being held out the back and coming ...

Running profit for April plus 25 points at starting price.
I'm kicking myself yesterday for not putting anything on Rub Of The Relic which went off at 10/1 and had been much bigger throughout the day.
Ground worries persist but here goes for today:-
3.45 Catterick Ed De Gas 2pts win
I am keen to be against Bordoni in this race and Ed De Gas runs as if a longer trip should suit. It travels on and off the bridle but finishes its races strongly. Naseem Alyasmeen could chase it home.
4.15 Catterick Jack Dawkins 1pt win.
The performance at Southwell last time was sensational and I will take a chance that it can reproduce the form on the slow ground today.
3.20 Epsom Cameron Highland 4pts win
If Neil Callan can get the lead here I expect him to make all as...

Running profit for April plus 29 points at starting price.
At the risk of repeating myself I intend keeping stakes low with the ground as it is at present.
4.45 Pontefract Brockfield 1pt win
Mel Britain's horses are running quite well at the moment and he nearly had a big price winner with Steel Stockholder on Saturday. It will probably pay to be up with the pacemakers today and Brockfield led at this distance when reappearing here earlier this month. It has won over a longer trip which should help under today's conditions and the 12/1 currently available is a bit biggger than anticipated.
Just the one today

There are 48 tipsters in the Racing Post naps competition and only three managed to pick a winner yesterday which just demonstrates how difficult it is this time of year.
A poor day here with Copperwood proving mulish and running no sort of race. Qeethara drifted to an incredible 8/1 on the exchanges but went very close and I managed to lay the Cole gamble to retrieve my stake (another failed plunge by the yard). Steelcut just couldn't go the pace so a loss of seven points on the day - ouch !
Running loss April 5pts.
Folkestone 3.20 One More Roman 3pts win
In truth a dire race and effectively a match between the front two. Dark Ages has shown ability over five furlongs but over 7 furlongs today will have it's stamina put to the test by it's market rival. I make One More Roman...
