Don't think I've ever seen anyone **** the bed as much as rivera, wtf was he doing, he had such a good chance if he was tactical. really enjoyed the pearson fight, great head movement, and all around skill by both.

ROSSSSSSSSSS PEEEEEEEEEARSON !!!!

|
By:
great bet WC did you catch those in play odds on pearson? insane value. was a very disappointing ppv, mir arlovski fight was lacklustre, thought arlovski did just enough and landeed harder shots. Mighty mouse looked phenomenal, dodson looked like he's been affected by these new drug tests that were implemented. no events for a couple weeks now, but after that there are a lot of quality cards upcoming

http://www.sherdog.com/news/news/Nick-Diaz-Suspended-5-Years-Fined-36165K-by-NAC-for-Failed-UFC-183-Drug-Test-92327
a few days late but this is ridiculous, 5 years of suspension for weed and nearly 200k fine. this is BS, the tests administered said he was below the legal level for 2 out of 3 tests, the 3rd was at a lab that is not linked to the nevada commission. meanwhile anderson silva gets a 1 year ban for ACTUAL performance enhancing steroids. this is actual corruption right in front of our faces. in other news fedor still hasn't announced where he will be signing in his return, bellator said it's unlikely he would sign there, UFC say they haven't heard anything from him for a while. http://www.sherdog.com/news/news/Dana-White-Has-No-Update-on-Fedor-Negotiations-Its-Been-a-Mystery-for-a-Very-Long-Time-92483 Rumours circling of him signing with a japanese promotion, so maybe thye are trying to bring back pride from the dead! i can't see him signing with dream, there's no one for him to fight there. In my opinion he could make a decent run in the ufc, i'd say he could beat arlovski/mir pretty easily based on their last fight, not to mention guys like hunt/nelson/mitrione who are ranked atm. he'd beat bigfoot if they were to rematch as well i think, bigfoot is a completely different fighter of TRT. |
|
By:
well this is dissapointing, who will fedor even fight? kimbo? shame he could of made a real impact in the ufc despite his best years being behind him. but on the plus side i guess it's good, they're trying to bring back mma to japan.

been away for a bit. I'm seriously pissed off that fedor is fighting in this shady ass yakuza promotion. and what a great fight Gus vs DC was, I really enjoyed it, wish Gus had spent an entire camp in USA though, I heard some dodgy things about allstars where he trains in Sweden.
UFC Dublin coming up next in a couple weeks, then we have got a busy schedule of cards for the last part of the year. Duffy vs Poirier is the main event next week, really good fight, will be very interesting to see how it plays out as it's 5 rounds. I think Duffy land the better shots early on, his conditioning might come into question if it goes later however, and Poirier has a tendency of getting rocked in a lot of his fights, this could be the difference in this fight, I absolutely do not think Poirier will react well to Duffy's precise and clinical boxing arsenal, but I do think Poirier is capable of holding his own standing, and potentially even getting a tko himself. Another reason this fights so interesting (besides a common opponent in McGregor, in which Duffy handed Mcgregor his last loss) is their respective ground games, especially their submissions with 9 out of his 14 wins being subs and Poiriers more modest 6 out of 18. duffy is a black belt in Japanese jiu jitsu, and Poirier is a brown belt in Brazilian jiu jitsu, he has some of the best d'arce chokes in the sport so that is a potential worry for any Duffy backers. with all that said I do not see it going 5 rounds at all, I think they might be using the smaller octagon cage for this event too, so there will be more likelihood of a KO |
|
By:
damn, duffy/poirier cancelled as well as rothwell miocic.. Glad I didn't buy tickets for this! It's a pretty weak card now, Also for anyone going to watch it starts at 4 p.m (what a nice change from staying up till 6 a.m haha
UFC Fight Pass Main Event: 125 lbs.: Paddy Holohan vs. Louis Smolka UFC Fight Pass Main Card (4 p.m. ET): 155 lbs.: Reza Madadi vs. Norman Parke 170 lbs.: Nicolas Dalby vs. Darren Till 125 lbs.: Jon Delos Reyes vs. Neil Seery UFC Fight Pass "Prelims" (1 p.m. ET): 155 lbs.: Mickael Lebout vs. Stevie Ray 115 lbs.: Ericka Almeida vs. Aisling Daly 185 lbs.: Scott Askham vs. Krzysztof Jotko 170 lbs.: Tom Breese vs. Cathal Pendred 145 lbs.: Darren Elkins vs. Robert Whiteford 185 lbs.: Bubba Bush vs. Garreth McLellan I got smolka straight up, may hedge with paddy by sub, ray by ko/tko, madadi is a decent underdog price, may take a stab at that, pendred fight will be interesting(crap but interesting) to see how the odds in play move. ashkam should win too but no play there for me. anyone else watching this? |

Can anyone make a case for Holly Holm this weekend ? Not to win the fight, but to make it past round 1 !!!

not really..Ronda looked pretty bad at the weigh in's, but she normally does anyway. I'm on ronda ko/tko round 1 @ 8.00 U1.5 @ 1.35 and ronda outright in a lot of acca's
|

By:
ronda ko/tko round 1 is *6.0* not 8.0

looking forward to whitaker/hall the most, with an impressive win either could be 1 or 2 wins away from a title shot, im leaning whitaker due to his aggressiveness, I think he will engage more than some of halls other opponents, but hall can end the fight in 1 instant as we saw against mousasi. hunt could get a new walkaway KO, he's in slightly better shape(apparently) this fight. and bigfoot looks a shell of his former self, since he stopped TRT. Rousey really should end this quick, holm's strong but hasn't faced the divisions best fighters, she struggled with racquel pennington who is a good fighter but not elite, and ronda's destroyed all the elite fighters in front of her.

Very emotional fight for Holly Holm... I was close to tears myself at the end of it !! I got to the stage where Ronda was just acting in all the wrong way. Holm hadn't spoken badly of her in any shape or form and then Ronda plays spoilt little girl at the weigh ins and then refuses to touch gloves. I'm glad Holly knocked her down a peg or two. I doubt very much that Holly will be marketed the same was as the poster girl was over the past few years but then again without Ronda, women's fighting will still be on the undercard at BAMMA or some of the other sub promotions.
Only had one bet on the card, on Struve at 8/11 ![]() I don't mind backing the big prices on the main fights this year but having come unstuck with pretty much everyone who I had backed at tasty prices, Saturday looked to be another one of those days where £30 on Holly at 8/1 would just be like throwing money in the bin, so I decided against that bet ![]() |
|
By:
fantastic night, yeah I was pretty happy for her too, I think she's a much better face for wmma than rousey, she's all class and respectful. yeah the weigh ins in hindsight were a big giveaway, of ronda's insecurity. holly's trainer even said she deliberately underachieved in some of her previous fights, to get an advantage in this one, and unlike ronda she had a great gameplan, and was probably the first(outside of tate) to actually have a gameplan against ronda. you could see ronda just panicking and fighting with pure emotion, but she did land a couple nice punches that momentarily stunned holly though. another factor is the huge amounts of media exposure rousey had and the limited amount holly had. makes it that much harder to defend your belt with all those expectations and obligations outside of her normal routine. they brought out prices for the rematch, i got some 3.5 on holm and 2.75. currently 2.64, holm should honestly be favorite after that display but I can see ronda winning with a proper gameplan, and holm is getting up there in age now. should be interesting to see if they try and set it up for ufc 200 next year.

I'm the same WA I always miss these huge prices, I'm kicking myself i didn't take 7/1 on holm in play. also I was so close to putting a flyer on holly tko/ko rnd 2 @26 I think it was, but decided against it. just goes to show the power of all that hype on rousey had on me. got some nice early odds for this weeks fight card too so hopefully can get back on track.
MAIN CARD Kelvin Gastelum vs. Neil Magny Ricardo Lamas vs. Diego Sanchez Henry Cejudo vs. Jussier Formiga Enrique Marin vs. Erick Montano "TUF: Latin America 2" welterweight final Enrique Barzola vs. Horacio Gutierrez "TUF: Latin America 2" lightweight final Efrain Escudero vs. Leandro Silva PRELIMINARY CARD Taylor Lapilus vs. Erik Perez Bartosz Fabinski vs. Hector Urbina Scott Jorgensen vs. Alejandro Perez Gabriel Benitez vs. Andre Fili UFC Fight Pass: Alvaro Herrera vs. Vernon Ramos Cesar Arzamendia vs. Polo Reyes Valmir Lazaro vs. Michel Prazeres Gastelum by sub @ 4.5 with titanbet is good value, magny was just subbed by maia and his wrestling doesn't seem good enough to stop gastelum from taking him down, and i don't think magny is capable of working a sub from the bottom, with kelvins grappling acumen taken into account. also gastelum has 5 rounds to work for this, magny is more dangerous on the feet, but i think gastelum will have the advantage here as well, If we see a kelvin that has improved as much as he has in previous fights i think he'll finsh magny, and the easier way on paper is by sub. after looking at magny's record 3 of his 4 losses have come via sub. gastelum should also be the bigger guy on fight night, providing of course he has put his weight issues behind him, but we'll see at the weigh in tonight. Magny still has avenues to win, but I feel if he wins it'll be via decision rather than a finish, magny decision is 7.0 atm on unibet, Think I'll have to put a small bet on that too. |

the dos anjos vs cerrone card has started, anyone watching?
Main Card (on FOX) Rafael dos Anjos (c) (24-7) vs. Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone (28-6, 1 NC)* Junior dos Santos (17-3) vs. Alistair Overeem (39-14, 1 NC) Michael Johnson (16-9) vs. Nate Diaz (17-10) Randa Markos (5-2) vs. Karolina Kowalkiewicz (7-0) Prelims (on FOX Sports 1) Charles Oliveira (20-5, 1 NC) vs. Myles Jury (15-1) C.B. Dollaway (15-7) vs. Nate Marquardt (33-15-2) Sarah Kaufman (17-3) vs. Valentina Shevchenko (9-1) Josh Samman (12-2) vs. Tamdan McCrory (13-3) Lots of great fights tonight, Playing RDA small, JDS ko, And olivera as well. oh and dolloway ko/tko. |

terrible stoppage

JdS was seething

oh come on he caught him flush
|
|

I've seen Overeem lose numerous times from that position
|
|
By:
how do you see this last one nugget?
|
|
By:
that was quick
|
|
By:
So when McGregor moves up, does he become the number one contender and does he get a title shot against Rafael dos Anjos immediately?
|
|
By:
browser's not been letting me post
wow, JDS looked completely shot, possibly another victim of the new testing, but almost certainly partly down to the beating's he's taken in his last few fights. Overeem has had a lot longer to adjust to fighting without banned substances. It was a good stoppage, The result wouldn't of changed if it went longer, an important thing to remember is that these guys are 240+lbs, Brain damage is a serious concern, and jds was not intelligently defending himself as required by the rules. |
|

if McGregor moves up he'll likely get an instant shot, but he may choose to fight edgar first, seeing as how conor stated he wasnts to be a active 2 weight world champion and the ufc has historically not liked the idea of this as is slows up the division, Dana and co might prefer he stayed at FW for now. Jon kavanagh has stated he does not want conor making that weight ut again, so who knows at this point. he's set himself up a lot of options to mull over the festive period.
Really impressed by dos anjos though, a lot of people thought he was possibly cycling something, but that looks unlikely when you know who his conditioning coach is nick curson who has a revolutionary way of training fighters imo. and also being trained by Master cordeiro probably helps too :P surprised he starched cerrone that easily, and quickly though |
|
By:
damn I just rewatched kahabib nurmagomedov completely outclass dos anjos in all aspects of the sport, and that fight wasn't even that long ago, I forgot how dominant khabib was, such a shame about all those injuries. RDA has improved a lot since then tbh, but In hindsight I don't think the RDA of today would beat the khabib that beat him last year but it would be closer. RDA/kahbib/fergusson and pettis are head and shoulder above the rest of the division at this point I reckon. Barboza could still be a contender one day maybe. Duffy is another possible contender but it's too early to tell. the poirier fight will tell us a lot. I think he beats dustin at this point.

Great podcast about the evolution of mma with dan hardy and robin black, some really good insights about how fighters like hardy himself and dom cruz have improved their game from working as an analyst. well worth the listen.
