Jake Shields vs. Jake Ellenberger Alan Belcher vs. Jason MacDonald Erik Koch vs. Jonathan Brookins Dongi Yang vs. Court McGee Evan Dunham vs. Shamar Bailey TJ Waldburger vs. Mike Stumpf Ken Stone vs. Donny Walker Cody McKenzie vs. Vagner Rocha Matt Riddle vs. Lance Benoist Jorge Lopez vs. Justin Edwards Seth Baczynski vs. Clay Harvison Robert Peralta vs. Mike Lullo
Any bets?
i like Rocha, mainly because McKenzie isnt UFC quality and will surely get destroyed?
Dunham vs Bailey is a total mismatch but 1/4 isnt too exciting.
Good to see Belcher back, always good to watch.
Not too sure for the main event, Shields should scrape it though.
may as well make a new thread for it. im only gonna have a couple bets for this, going for evan dunham and maybe rocha, brookings with his wrestling might be good value, but i dont know to much about koch. not gonna bet on belcher because of his long layoff and jason mcdonnald has one of the best ground game's in the division. shields ellenberger i think will be to close to pick so im leaving that too.
One of my mates knows too much about UFC... here's his report...
Shields v Ellenberger (pick = Ellenberger but too close)
Shield's a one trick pony albeit an immense one, if he gets the fight to the floor and on top of Ellenberger it could be a quick nights work... However Ellenberger is a much superior wrestler and getting him on his back is no mean feat for a good wrestler let alone Shields. His only loss in the UFC is a split decision to Carlos Condit in a fight many thought he won. He's on a tear at the minute winning 4 straight and arguably has the heaviest hands in the division... I think Ellenberger has the superior wrestling, stand up, power/strength and cardio. Many have this as a Shields victory and with the recent passing of his father he could turn up and fight like a man possessed. I however feel this will be a KO win for Ellenberger, i think his wrestling will keep the fight on its feet long enough for him to land something nasty.
McGee v Yang (pick = McGee)
Simple in my eyes. Yang has a punchers chance - i think these two are a class apart. McGee is a real prospect and has a well rounded game. Yang, despite holding an impressive record hasn't really fought anyone of note and is 1-1 in UFC, both fights against guys i don't expect to be on the roster too long. McGee to overwhelm before submitting Yang.
Belcher v MacDonald (pick = Belcher but I rate MacDonald so avoid)
Belcher's first fight back after his career threatening eye injury - Ring rust could be a factor in this one... and i feel a lot of people are overlooking MacDonald, i rate the guy. I do however believe Belcher has more talent (no pun intended - Alan 'The Talent' Belcher) and on his game would have enough on the feet to take MacDonald out or decision him. I think Jason is slightly better on the ground but could have a job getting Belcher to the mat. All in all this could go either way but i give the edge to Belcher.
Brookins v Koch (pick = Koch)
Brookins first fight since winning TUF, injuries have kept him from competing and he gets a tough match up against up and comer Koch. Both are well rounded fighters but i feel Koch has more on the feet, his only loss came to Chad Mendes by decision who is an absolute Juggernaut in the 145 division. I would bet on a late KO for Koch after wearing Brookins down in the 1st half of the fight.
Dunham v Bailey (pick = Dunham)
Complete mismatch in my eyes... Bailey may... may have the better wrestling but Dunham is on another level altogether. He may be on a 2 fight losing streak (another razor thin split decision to Sean Sherk a former champ and a TKO to Melvin Guillard - who is the most athletic, explosive fighter in the 155lb weight class and KOing everyone in his path since moving to train with Greg Jackson) but it has come to the elite at 155. Bailey has never fought at this level - I'm just wondering if he did something to pi$$ Dana off!? I see Dunham ending this early, could clean KO Bailey or rock him and finish via sub either way i don't expect this to go the distance.

gonna put a bit on ellenberger, shields losing his father could hurt him or give him that extra will to win, i dont think shields can take ellenberger down, and will have to stand up for most of the fight. ellenberger has possibly the most powerfull hands in the ww division atm, and he likes to counter. i think shields will look to use the jab.
