This is a cracking game and a potential NFC Championship preview. It's early days and the season is still sorting itself out but you have to be impressed with Seattle and their young rookie Quarterback Russell Wilson. In Week 1 they played it tough against the unbeaten Cardinals (that's right, I said unbeaten) and if Doug Baldwin or Braylon Edwards make a catch in the end zone they are sitting 2-0 which would also include a win over the 2-1 Cowboys who someone beat the defending Superbowl Champion Giants on the road. The coaches are managing Wilson superbly. They are not letting him lose a game. I expect a big dose of Marshawn Lynch tonight especially if the Seahawks can keep it close deep into the 4th Quarter but it's the Seahawks defence that is going to win this game for Seattle. They swarmed all over the Cowboys and the defensive backs did a good job containing the Cowboys wide receivers. However they will massively helped by the front four pressuring Romo who plays behind one of the poorest Offenisve Lines in football today (they had eight false start penalties at home this week). The Packers Quarterback, Aaron Rodgers, has better protection and this will allow him that fraction more time to find his receivers. The Packers defence is much approved this season and in Clay Matthews and AJ Hawk they have two of the best Linebackers in the games today. Matthews has 6 sacks already this season (the same amount he had all of last season). In summary, I priced the Packers up at 8/15 for this game and I think 1.65 is too big so I will be backing the Packers on the money line. I just think they have the advantage at the QB position and overall on defence.

Don't quite see this as an NFC championship preview. Seahawks are my team and as you say Wilson and his play book is being conservatively managed I'm not sure that will get us there...plus defeat tonight we are 2 games down on the cardinals.

Enjoyed the write up though...we are a team on the up at home (which is another factor) against an established member of the top tier, so will be an excellent gauge as to where we are.

I do agree with you that the Packers are overpriced...And as you say a lot will rest on the ability of each team to protect their QB and establishing a running game if it Is tight.

I tried to think what the line would have been last season and I just think -3 GB has to be the play at Evs....

good luck.

Seattle +3 for me. Packers over rated as usual. Seattle are great at home, especially on MNF

Nice opening post, apart from tagging it as a NFC Championship preview. Laugh

If Seahawks make the NFC Championship game I`ll pack betting in. IMO, they`ll be lucky to make the Play Offs.

I`v got stuck in on the Packers. Good luck.

Yes I agree. Too big a difference between 3.5 and the money line with a 55 tick difference in odds.

1.62 and 2.14 for 3.5 points difference.

ok im just a football watcher..the finer points of the game elude me somewhat but whereas i know stats are of some value, isnt info like ''a great mnf record so must be feared'' a little like saying arsenal have won a lot of games on a sunday afternoon so must be a good bet?

Watch and learn SCOM. Stats like that are what give you the edge. Seattle are a great bet tonight

Green Bay are just too good, and should be improving as the season goes on.

If you are betting GB on Handicap you must bet with Bookies at -3. Hope they scud Seattle, but if they were to win by 3 that half point will do you.

-3.5 is 1.95 at the bookies, so 19 ticks bigger on here is value.

Also, got a small interest on Finley 1st TD and GB win 13-18pts @ 50/1. Sporting chance for small stakes.

Bathmaker1.....good opening post apart from one statement......

AJ Hawk is NOT one of the best linebackers in the game today.....he is average, for a top ten pick he has been a major disappointment.

you know he'll score first, then they be 12 pts up and in the red zone with 30 seconds to play. And just when you think they'll have to kick for 3, they'll get the TD and win by 19.
