reported that schaub injured his foot on a qb sneak against the bucs sunday, definatley out after bye week against jacksonville (matt leinart will start)

Leinart was terrible in Arizona. This could be Houston's season over if the injury is as bad as it appears.

Leinart has improved significantly in Houston. This team is a defensively focussed outfit with a solid running game. Far from season over in my view. They are already banged up but likely to get Andre Johnson back after the break.

Thank you,sounds like you have a position on houston but lets get real,beating the likes of jacksonville,cleveland and tampa and now losing schaub is the end of any slim chance they had this year.

I dont have a position on Houston but will be taking one now. This team can lean heavily on their D and their running game and have a very soft schedule. They'll probably be number 2 or 3 seed into the playoffs in a very even AFC year.

well they could make the playoffs because they're in a bad division but it may come down to the titans game end of season.Nevertheless leinart is a decidely average qb,he wont be winning any post seasons games.

Lot of teams winning with pretty average QBs this season. Alot of them dont have the running game or the defense Houston does.
I just think this is a major over-correction. Baltimore won a Superbowl with a worse offense than this. So did Tampa Bay. Time will tell. |

Them Baltimore and Tampa Bay teams which won Superbowls both had elite defences....wouldn't say that about Houstons.

This is statistically the top ranked D in the NFL and only the 13th ranked passing offense. Leinart won't need to be good for them to do well. If their running game continues to shine even Leinart will be able to run the offense.

Looking at the remaining schedules:
Texans (7-3) Week 11: Bye Week 12: @ Jaguars - WIN Week 13: v Falcons - LOSS Week 14: @ Bengals - LOSS Week 15: v Panthers - WIN Week 16: @ Colts - WIN This would leave the Texans on 10-5 going into Week 17 at home to the Titans Titans (5-4) Week 11: @ Falcons - LOSS Week 12: v Buccaneers - WIN Week 13: @ Bills - LOSS Week 14: v Saints - LOSS Week 15: @ Colts - WIN Week 16: v Jaguars - WIN This would leave the Titans at 8-7 going into Week 17 on road to Texans IMO the 2 games which are up in the air would be the Titans @ Bills in Week 13 which could go either way and also the Texans v Panthers which the Panthers could upset the odds and win. The Titans would need both those games to go their way to have any chance of making the playoffs because they lost to the Jaguars in Week 1, meaning the Texans will have the better divisional record (assuming everyone beats the Jaguars & Colts down the stretch). |

schaub's injury is bad news for houston if he is unable to return, doubtfull if leinhart will get it done even if he is better than his arizona days,
Back up qb issue looks premium again here, but you can say that for a lot of teams |

lol...not many on here but i remember knight rider being the big texans fan..after all them seasons of frustration..losing games on the last play..finally they arrive with this beast of a running game and a no1 ranked D...all going 2 well...still win the division

Very harsh...especially with Johnson having missed so much time already.
I actually think Schaub is not all that good tbh...just lucky to work with an excellent OL, RBs and receivers. But still probably a huge step down to Leinart. We'll see I guess. |

Look at some of the QBs who have stepped up this season...wouldnt surprise me if the texans continue to win games without schaub. Agree schaub is nothing special..surrounded by top draw players.

The last 8 Superbowl winning QBs have been Aaron Rodgers Drew Brees Ben Roethlisberger Eli Manning Peyton Manning Ben Roethlisberger Tom Brady Tom Brady It's a passing league now and you won't win anything without a very very good QB I agree that the Texans will make the Playoffs but there is no way they will beat the Jets, Steelers, or Ravens in the Wildcard game without Schaub |
