Heres a thread for all the College Football fans and punters where we can share our thoughts on all things College Football.
This is my favourite time of the year, the kids are back tonight and this time next week it will be the pros.
Some great games coming up this weekend with the highlight being LSU and Oregan Saturday night. Gambling on the outright market is suicide because of the way the BCS system is set up but i fancy the Oregan Ducks to go one step better this year. Loved watching them last year with Chip Kellys hurry up offence and i dont think teams will stop them this year. They are returning players in key positions and LaMichael James is as good a running back as there is this year.
Gone for a small treble tonight as there is no point getting heavily involved in the first few weeks.
Syracuse -6 Wisconsin -34.5 Western Kentucky +17 (Line opened +22)
Heres to the start of an enjoyable and profitable season
I'm in a pick 'em comp, and my optimal results for the early games would be wins for Houston, Michigan State, South Carolina and Ohio State. I actually picked Georgia and Florida, but other people's picks mean that the above four I listed would give me the biggest lead overall.

Ducks QB just launched that ball without looking...so lucky to get td.
what always amazes me about College ball is that the clock doesn't stop for out of bounds till the end of the halves yet they manage to rack up so many points.
guess that's what happens when teams stick all their best athletes on offence

Wisconsin's methodical offence that takes ten or 12 plays to score is fine for the big ten but doesn't really work against a team that takes 2 or 3 minutes to score every time it gets the ball.

it's a shame this stuff is still such small minority stuff on betfair. lack of liquidity means you can't really pile in but there's so much scope. oh for the day when 6m will get matched!

Four of the six games were really, really good. I've only really followed college football for four years, but this year's matchups have thrown up what has turned out to be loads of good games.

Too close to call. VT probably just shade it for me.
I'm in a confidence 'pick em' competition and I've picked VT for 4pts, which is effectively nothing. More than half of the entries have picked the Wolverines though.

Any 1 know what price Stanford traded at when they had that kick 2 win? I taped it and watched this morning, had 750 green on them as well must have been sub 1.05.Wish I would have left a 1.1 lay up

Tricky one. According to the rules, I don't think that it should have been overturned, because the evidence was hardly indisputable.
Having said that, I think that they probably got it right.

Had VT and over 50.5,so imagine my disgust when the td wasn't given, after the previous ones that had been ruled complete.
Oh well you live and learn

I thought it was a good call. You could see the ball move slightly, but it was a hell of a catch.
I dont think i have seen a more undeserving winner of a game in a long long time and i was on Michigan.

I'm very large 'green' on the Packers and that game last night may be a timley remimder for me, that the best team doesn't always win. I'd make VT -9.5 if they played again next weekend.

Can't see anything but a Clemson win. WV just squeaked into the BCS with 3 wins over inferior opponents, I think they came back in the 4th quarter in all 3 games. They won't be coming back against the Tigers. Clemson has a better running game, so it'll soften up the WV defense. Clemson got their act together against a very good Vir Tech team after a big loss to NC State and SO Carolina. Virginia Tech would probably be favoured over West Virginia. Famous last word: Clemson by 10+.
