Not a bad system cheeky, in practice yesterday the sun was out and glare was an issue.

The alternate view is that their hands will be shaking in the -15C temps and hence the puck control suffers and unders is a certSilly

It's a funny one tonight tbh and lot's of imponderables to consider outside the normal calculations , maybe unders is the right call

anyone else notice that the nhl website was showing 3-2 for pittsburgh since they scored their 2nd?

i thought a bot had gone crazy laying the tie for 1.01 with 3 secs of regulation left !

will take pens in the shootout.

Lovely goal from PK , gutsy effort from a banged up Pens tbh , think the extra motivation to get something from this game was seeing Flyers win earlier and drop 6pts behind them in a crucial division.

Period 1 summary.

Bright start by MTL with good pressure and seemed to settle into conditions better.  Powerplay for tripping handed momentum to Flames and when another tripping call came along, a 5 on 3 for over 80 secs meant it was just a matter of time before Calgary went ahead.

After the goal the flames have completely dominated and if it was not for Kerry Price having a stormer this game may have got beyond MTL already.  Lucky to be just one behind but that in itself may give them some impertus.  MTL scored more goals in 2nd period that any other period and hopefully they will step up now.

Also, a static Kiporusoff may get cold and get caught unawares.  Also, surely refs will even it up with at least a +2 powerplay advantage in this period.

Plus the Canadiens are playing with the wind behind this period.  Also CGY have sun in their eyes... errr. errr.  I think I am just trying to convince myself for a team that have been outplayed so far.Plain

Any thoughts on how this may pan out.

Also CGY is a bit of a dump if you ever go, that said it is the Bahamas compared to Winnipeg (what a sh1thole)

Thanks Swardean , did think the game had an unders look due to the circumstances when watching the preview shows earlier but guess I was looking for some extra comments from somewhere and your post earlier helped pull the trigger  Happy

Only 3 games tomorrow starting at 6pm UK time but a statement game later on with Caps in Pittsburgh  Happy

well done to "shaky hands = unders" backers in calgary.  thought at first I'd been done by montreal not bothering to turn up, but can't complain at kiprusoff keeping out 39 shots.

drewboy - I did think the timing of pittsburgh's goals was a bit odd, but thought that might be where the error was, not the score.  having had a tenner on the draw, I got all excited and laid off at 1.01 thinking it was the easiest £200 i'll ever make!  will teach me to be greedy Laugh.

missed the early games - washington ml for me tonight, with a little on the draw.

Another potent display from the Islanders tonight beating Panthers 5-1 , that's 6 wins in the last 7 scoring 35 goals in the process

Been struggling to get a read on the caps v pens game tonight. I was fairly certain earlier that the caps would win in regulation but the more i look the more puzzled i become. Think pens could be value as it seems priced up for crosby and maukin (including others) being out rather than recent form which has been patchy from both teams. Washington have won the last two match-ups but are at the end of a tough 5 game road trip and with the great atmosphere always created when these two play i think the pens could take this.

When: 21 Feb 11 23:36
Strange to see Pens so banged up but the consideration in this game is the total goals market as the match betting is very difficult , depends how you read the Caps game in Anaheim and if you ignore the 7-6 win based on the fact that Ducks are in goal fests every game these days then you'll be all over unders here , pay your money take your choice.

Good luck guys  Happy

Pens want this alot more than the caps.
By:
Hayden
When: 22 Feb 11 02:13
Crikey that was an easy bet and don't think unders would have been threatened if they'd played all night , ignore the crazy Ducks game as stated earlier and it's now 14/15 unders for most recent Caps games , as I say though i'm taking that particular bet game by game depending on the opposition.

Just goes to show that your first instinct is usually the best one and also sometimes can read into a game too much. Pens are desperatly short up front. Had unders written all over it didnt it...

evening all,

problem with backing the isles may be that you've no idea which team will turn up for toronto???

I thought dallas looked a good price to beat devils and have backed accordingly.  also gone for overs in detroit.

good luck tonight

Early to bed again I'm afraid - but great to see The Wild still fighting hard Grin

Can't see many goals tonight but books are right up to speed on this.  Games in Pittsburgh, Ottawa and Tampa look susceptible.  Its difficult not to have a small interest in Phoenix to win in Tampa.  Will need to examine some stats, but the Western teams seem to have a slight edge in cross conference matches?  It could be that the high of winning in Philli will help to overcome the tiredness.

All the best lads Grin

evening,

agree with you drewboy, have picked out the la and pittsburgh games for unders, singles and a double.

Nice bet cheeky  Happy that's 4 unders on the bounce for Pens and the MVP firepower undoubtedly missed badly in the offence.

Only 6 games tonight but some good match-ups all the same , should be a few goals in Philadelphia when the Islanders visit whilst free falling Dallas will be worried about both the trade deadline on Monday as well as the trip to the Joe tonight.

Yes - well done cheeky fiver, nice picking indeed.

Does anyone else think the price about Toronto tonight is a little insulting?

Any early thoughts appreciated as once again up at the crack of dawn Cry

thanks fellas,

thought toronto represented some value, but these two teams currently find themselves on my "wouldn't back with counterfeit" list.

going to be boring and go for philly, detroit and vancouver tonight, all in regulation.

Yes conans it's a midnight game , sorry for slow response but I normally switch off from sport after the last horse race until the midnight Hockey begins so consequently don't see many evening posts until very near midnight.

May be up to watch tonight but I doubt it.  Will be around Sat/Sun night though.

Like San Jose a lot tonight - also think Minnesota may have enough bottle to overcome Anaheim.  Shame both games are hours away!

Good luck on whatever you decide.  Can the Devils be stopped?

Rangers without Staal tonight. I don't really have any read on this game, but as the Rags are money in shootouts and Caps are a bit of the opposite, I'm gonna back Caps in regulation and Rags on ml. So I make profit if Caps win in regulation, else I'm even Steven unless, of course, Caps win in OT. Then I'm screwed [:(]

As for if the Devils can be stopped, didn't they look a bit shaky against Dallas. Maybe they start to feel some pressure now that the playoffs are within reach. I hope they make it though. Would be wicked.
By:

When: 26 Feb 11 00:44
Well I'm a moron for not just having a straight bet on Rangers with those odds. Caps are horribly overrated. Every year. Devils get scored on right after faceoffs twice in less than a minute.

Good night...
