Brilliant night's viewing and that's what the play-offs are all about for me , goals hard to come by , nerves , heroes and no shootouts to keep you up all night
![]() Kings seem to have new scoring belief with the hurried return of Williams but it had to be JP scoring the winner , Sabres did a job on Flyers and it's a worry for them to see Ryan Miller in top form , performance of the night from Habs , brilliant coach , game plan and as expected Carey Price inspired by last years events at this time , Bruins will have to make it ultra physical in game 2 or they could be in real trouble ![]() |

Hayden - what are your thoughts on tonights games? Any strong feelings?
|
|
By:
Evening all. I have backed the Lightning to level up the series against pens and if that wins I will consider a very lumpy bet on Canucks to go 2-0 up.
Anyone having a bet on tonights games? |
|
By:
No bet until game 3 matches start for me chaps but will be watching every minute regardless , my thoughts on the games will require some reading between the lines in the series match-up views posted a couple of days ago.
Good luck chaps ![]() |

Evening gents. Im going for the caps again tonight to make it 2-0 before they hit the road!
Hayden, i read this thread most nights, and all credit goes to you im amazed at the level of knowledge and insight you have on this sport. As a newbie to the sport (watched for a few years, punted for the last 2 seasons) im well impressed! I do my own research and choose my own bets but often drop in to see what you and a few other knowledgable posted have to add. Keep up the good work guys /0\ |

Well done you 2 guys , couple of good calls tonight
![]() Perfect illustration tonight why it will take an almighty effort from someone to stop the " new strategy " Caps march to the final this year , currently they're up 4-1 on aggregate after 2 games , at the same stage last season against Habs after 2 games they were tied at 8-8 ![]() |

Yes, good night and some good action although not quite the closeness of last nights games,
Thanks for the message Hayden. Great find, and definately one to keep an eye on!! |

Have to admit I am still a bit nervous about the series heading to Chicago for the next two. If Chicago can hold home ice they will have all the momentum coming back to vancouver. Really hoping we can take at least one from them in Chicago.
Havent seen much of the other series to be honest. Hopefully I'll have a chance to watch a bit from work today and will hopefully be able to chat more tomorrow before some big game 3s. |
|
By:
Yes Benrik, hawks definitely showed more last night but Canucks more than capable of winning on the road.
Keep it simple tonight. Flyers will level the series tonight. Only bet and means I relatively early night for us uk based. |

As in game 1 the difference between the teams was the brilliant Pavel Datsyuk , man's a hockey genius

Well done guys , couple of good calls yet again
![]() The post match comments on Bruins v Habs could easily be a paste of 2 nights ago , Habs superbly coached , brilliant gameplan , Carey Price , and weren't outmuscled by Bruins , long way to go but Bruins shown up here as a one dimensional unit with no plan B when they can't dominate physically , suspected a difficult series for Boston and it can't be easy needing to play a bullying strategy when you've played over 80 games in the season. Flyers got the job done tonight but for large parts of the game reminded me of the Caps of last season , good series that could easily go to 7. |
|
By:
Nice spread of games tonight. A couple of games that my fall into the system bet Hayden? But tonight the game I am looking forward to is the the Preditors v Duck. A real coin toss for me but one that should be a cracker.
Got a couple of hours to consider whether there is a bet against these. Anyone like any of these matchups? |

Yes mate , love the schedule times tonight as can watch all 3 games with only a small overlap
![]() Fantastic response from Kings last night in the face of adversity , they no sooner get Williams back then lose Stoll to a suspension , shows what you can achieve though with a quality GT and a superb defense , can't help thinking kings will need some contribution from Penner before the series ends though as he's gone 14 games now without earning a single point. Will stick to the theory that's served me well over the last few seasons tonight by playing both Rangers & Hawks on the moneyline , stakes will never be close to the regular season plays though tbh as it's a case of what you see is what you get in the play-offs as opposed to the scheduling betting angles you can frequently find in the regular season. Looks a tough call in Nashville tonight mate in all honesty , predicted Ducks to qualify and still think they will have sufficient purple patches to get the job done eventually , no bet tonight for me though in that one. Good luck guys and remember 8pm start in the UK , you're on a roll Swardean as well by the looks ![]() |

Always swings and roundabouts for me. Not a full timer and good job so dont mind occasional losing as long as I get the winning streaks now and again as well. Its been great since start of March to be honest and annual visits to Chelt and Aintree both produced big returns. Still sitting on big returns for stanley cup and haven't conisdered laying off... just yet, although would be gutted to walk away with nothing from such a strong position.
Agree with the system in New York, although was hoping for for at least 2.0. No bet for me in Chicago, expect Hawks to win but I can bet in the game. Conversely I thought Hawks would have been shorter and there lies the value, just a pity I cant take it. Finally after more thinking, I reckon preds will take tonights game, Ryan a huge loss and that will be the difference. That said we have seen last night that missing players are often compensated for. So, medium bet Rangers ML, and small bet Preds ML. Good luck |

After being away from home and avoiding all play-off results i've been catching up a lot over the weekend. Have watch both the Kings and Sharks games and felt that the Kings were the better side in game 1 despite the OT loss, and backed up my thoughts with a crunching win last night. Taking them back to LA i can only see the Kings progressing from this point, and
think they're a great price to win out, and possibly even the west. I'm also on the Ducks but not hopeful as i've felt NSH have been the better team so far, and taking them back to Nashville at 1-1 might prove too much for the Ducks. Also keen on TB to upset the Pens, G1 was close until those two quick goals for Pens in the 3rd period, but that was a hammering in G2 and looked no fluke. |
|
By:
Good luck CJ, Kings definately looked up for the fight and that series is likely to go to the wire. Wouldnt argue with any of your observations but amazing how teams can turn it around very quickly.

Evening lads.
Not had a chance yet to catch up on the early games - taking Caps to make mincemeat of Rangers tonight but it is a pure and simple guess. Just really going to enjoy the game. On nights all week from tomorrow so hopefully plenty of catching up. I like CJ's reading of the Kings btw ![]() |

rangers rt lay for me.GL
|
|
By:
that seemed a long period that!
|
|
By:
It did! Are the ad breaks longer in the playoffs?
Rangers are hopefully going to tire - great stop on 5 on 3 for Caps. |
|
By:
just knew theyd score then..these fukin officials are looking for any excuse to give the rangers a help here!
|
|
By:
pmsl these officials have had the call alright here!

Looked like a goal to me - what a break

Beginning to get a feeling that Caps are just getting the better of this.....13 left

Hey drew, good to see you around. Are you staying up for all the games tonight. Looks like tight ones all the way. Cant wait to see the amazing atmostphere in Chicago.
Switch over too early for golf so missed the controversial disallowed goal. Sure I will see plenty of replays over next few days |
|
By:
Earlyish to bed tonight Swardean but won't miss anything over next 5 nights.
Golf is a dirty word atm - I just got back from hols yesterday to find McIlroy hit 1.6 IR - I'd backed him at 36. They showed the 'goal' again and its just simply down to the official clock - bit like backing a photo finish ![]() See you tomorrow.... |
|
By:
Well done Rangers
typical play-off tense stuff that , mentioned in the play-off preview last Wednesday about the perils of betting on game 4 in the series and in all honesty I wouldn't touch this game 4 with monopoly money. Here's hoping the Hawks can continue the game 3 theory later , good luck guys ![]() |
|
By:
awful way to lose..that rangers rt lay should have been in..caps just threw that away!
|
|
By:
Great period from the Preds. More than value for the lead so far. Hope they can maintain it.
|
|
By:
Got to admire Canucks , resilience they showed not to go 2 goals behind was brilliant and what potential Stanley Cup winners are made , obviously a mountain to climb now for Hawks but seems impossible to bet on game 4 as it's too difficult.
The Vancouver boys will sleep well tonight ![]() |
|
By:
Great game and as you said did great to hold out on all the penalties (7-2 seemed a little home bias to me). But one they withstood the near 2 min 5 on 3, I thought it would be a close game. Luongo great again. Going to work very tired!

Im sorry I missed the action here yesterday. A couple great calls over the weekend and now on to the next round of game 3s. Really do not know which way to lean in the detroit series heading back to phoenix. Starting to sound like these may be the last games played there before the team relocates. Is this a motivation for the Phoenix players? Seems to me yes, but Detroit has been by far the better team through the first two games. Other than that I would lean towards the other three home teams tonight.
|
|
By:
Having been a couple of times... there really is nothing motivating about moving to Winnipeg
|
|
By:
haha no, i agree. But the players all want to stay in Phoenix and this may be a motivating factor as only a long playoff run could possibly keep them there.
|
|
By:
Evening all. Been looking at tonights match-up and Sabres are looking like my main bet. Should bea great home atmostphere and although out shot by Philly last time those figures skewed by the adverse penalty score. So wun bet on ML for me.
Also tempted by Boston and the system bet on Predators but still not 100% sure I am playing. Whats the bets guys? |
|
By:
Sabres in regulation for me Swardean - the others are just too tough - but since I'm up all night the late game will no doubt be too tempting.
You were right about Preds in the first period last night - just blew Ducks away. Ducks seemed to really lack a physical presence. |

Still contemplating whether to stay up for the Phoenix game as it's the only game 3 bet planned but feeling absolutely knackered at the moment , difficult looking card tbh and definitely no bet on the opening 3 games for me , Flyers still looking vulnerable with this GT situation still not fully resolved and it looks like Boucher will start tonight , fascinating how Bruins will react to 0-2 in the BC cauldron with Chara still apparently missing , got a feeling the fact it's a road game may work in their favour as so often happens with teams who enter game 3 after a home ice score of either 1-1 or 0-2 and a chorus of boo's in most cases so you pay your money take your chance here by either going for the team desperate to win or the team that has looked far superior to date , rather just watch tbh , the game in Tampa just comes down to who plays well on the night I think with the match-up between the pretenders and the team that's been there and done it on so many occasions , you get the feeling that despite all their street wise and experience that this Pens team are there for the taking if Tampa can raise their level a notch , fair points made about the Phoenix position and who can tell in all honesty , it seems Zetterberg is a game time decision and that's enough to hold back until nearer start time for me before backing Coyotes , you have to believe Datsyuk will drop his level a tad genius though he undoubtedly is against a team desperate to keep the series alive.
Without looking back think I suggested Tampa , Sabres and Habs to qualify in the play-off preview so will abstain from a bet and cheer that trio on tonight , waiting until the final roster check before deciding on whether to back Coyotes on the game 3 theory later , if i'm still awake that is ![]() Good luck chaps ![]() |
