Tonight's meeting at Warwick is where we will try to get a trade, the horse we are interested in was on an upward progressive curve last year winning three times, twice for today's jockey (the only twice ridden by him)and she ended the season with a decent second in a Group 3 race. The cobwebs were blown away at Newmarket last tine and I think that the lightly raced Mirror Lake will give a good account of herself this evening. The going has changed to good/soft which is in her favour, winning jockey on board, distance should not be a problem. She may not win tonight but I'm sure that Pat Dobbs will have her in a challenging position near the business end of the race. Timepiece is the obvious choice in the race and her strength in the market may force Mirror Lake's price out even more bit so far backed at 6.6 looking for a lay of price in running of 3.95 for an all green scree to 1.3 pts or lay off at 4.4 for a 1 pt profit.
Mirror Lake traded down to 3.95, happy days, I think I have said before that I use Gruss for my trading so never really know what price I have layed off at until you check your account, with gruss you see the amount of black (profit) that you have at a particular stage of the race and just 'click' when you are happy and the bot does the rest.
No I wouldn't I'm afraid, I don't mind trading on short ones but not that short. In the Guineas that the pacemaker for Frankel was left in race despite being given an outside draw making it difficult to get to the front so listening to Sir Henry it was his decision to go for it from the off and make his own pace, it will be different today with Frankel being kept back for half the distance at least. Wooten Bassett on the other hand was allowed to run in France even though his prep had been hampered and he also had the worst possible draw, he will be much fitter today, I think he will lead from the start and trade so I've taken 28 to lay off at 16.5 for a 1.3 pt profit.
On this occasion it was a case of spotting the false price and hope that the market corrected itself, he was way overpriced at the 27/28 mark, good job the price dropped mind you and I was traded out at 17 and 16.5 happy days and just as well as he was never in the race really.
Another plus was the excellent run by Zoffany which augurs very well for our trade on Bewitched on Saturday, who beat Zoffany easily giving him 6 lbs into the bargain.
