One of the few games that might be in danger of being postponed in this weekend’s Premiership. Blackpool will host Liverpool on Boxing Day but with fears that it might not go ahead if snow returns to Britain. Blackpool does not have facilities that could beat the cold and it will remain to be seen on the day pitch inspection before the green lights is given.

Blackpool sensationally beat Liverpool at Anfield last time they met in the autumn. This is something of a boost of the Seasiders as go into the game on Sunday certainly without the fear of losing but with confidence of a win. The team itself hasn’t done bad compare to the other new promoted teams from the Championship, Blackpool can be found in the mid tables in 10th place with 22 points, leveled with the visitors. The Seasiders are unbeaten in four games and not taken account of the postponed game against Spurs last weekend.

Liverpool knows that another defeat to Blackpool would not be acceptable from their fans nor their board. All eyes will be on Steven Gerrard as the Liverpool Captain is set to return to the team after missing out five games with the Reds. He will boost the midfield and assist striker Fernando Torres in their search for a win at Blackpool. Apart from the good news of Gerrard returning to the starting lineup, there is a chance that Danish International Daniel Agger could get a nod to start but a bench is more likely. Only Jamie Carragher and Jay Spearing will remain on the injury list.

Liverpool Manager Roy Hodgson has been questioned on his team on the hot seat after Rafa Benitez could fired from Inter Milan. Hodgson has vowed to continue and the threat of Benitez to return was mooted with the idea that Liverpool is still paying Benitez for his exits. Back to the game, well the question is still whether it will go ahead, Liverpool to win, not comfortably for sure.

Both teams were in midweek action and hence why this is not a normal weekend game but held on a Monday evening instead. The kickoff time is place at 20:00 BST at Anfield where the home side will be bracing themselves for the cold evening and a tough opponent. In recent years, Aston Villa has tried to challenge Liverpool in the top half of the premiership, they succeed last year going above them but did not make the Champions League.
