good research Workrider
Dark Angel would hardly be buyable at your price range as his covering fee that year was 27500 Choisir Clodovil and Capt Rio are all good solid stallions 7k budget turns into 8k after commission and vat. take an average of 1500 per month training fees (incl vets and farriers) by next April our steed is now standing at least 18k then the sun starts we name him and register him with HRI by the time we run mid may we are upto 22-23k so i suggest we all put in 2k upfront to cover until Ptown approx by which time we will have an idea where we are . as regards trainers i am very easy but maybe a cheap yearling in O Callaghans would be lost best of luck and keep us posted |

Thanks Calling Card , your maths are fine , have seen many a big priced Stallions stock sell for little or nothing ,all about comfirmation , so as the Yanks say I'll take a rain check on that . A few more seem interested so I'll keep ye posted by pm rather than have certain people cram up the thread with crap.

good stuff stick with those that are interested and not get slagged off by w..kers
a correct colt by a moderate sire is a better option to resell than a crooked one by a more popular one |

As stated above your getting into double money before it hits the track,
Why not consider my suggestion and pinhook . Like some of the guys say treat the initial investement as dead but this way theres minimal further outlay with a good chance of a return. Im not sure about anyone else but i,d get almost as much satisfaction watching its career afterwards with very little risk other than a fatality or similar. |
|
By:
olddesperado, the whole point is having a bit of fun with it, sure the pinhooker thing might work , then again what if its lead out unsold!. Pinhooking is not as easy as it seems , I think you are forgetting the cost as well ,to get one to the sales costs money , so your outlay is increased . Maybe futhur down the line we'd go along that route...

Catch , Most was one of the worst G1 winners ever. Coolmore will hype him to the hilt , but anyone giving good money for his prodigy wants their head examined...

Does not mean that you will not be able to pick up one with two crooked legs being guided around the ring in a horse ambulance for around 6k to 7k?
|
|
By:
Workrider....He also gave 100k for a dandy man. It's only a matter of time before the Qatari boys pull the plug, they are getting saddled bigtime.
