I thought Don was the likely winner when he fell. Way race panned out, he certainly would have.

Went form 1.5 length down to half up on CC and by far the stronger stayer.

Will take some whacking in the GC.

Vautour win the Ryanair by half the track.

Not sure how I lost money on that race!!

Can ye not take the personal insults down to the "Happy Christmas thread"

Poor day for most i'd imagine though the WPM db in the last two limited the damage for me.
Delighted for Patrick Mullins on Douvan and he handled the pressure well with the only blimp at the last. Very impressive though with the ground today not sure he deserves to be so short for the festival.
King George was a cracker, think if Ruby had his time back he'd have held him up,he certainly would have delayed kicking for home. Doubts to me getting up the hill in March. Cue Card only for the last fence blunder would have won by a length, Don Cossack could well have won,did think he had the momentum at the time.
Enjoyed the days bracing.

I disagree pa, I backed don, I don't think he,d of got up but im not sure Kempton is his track was all over the place in the race(don't know if that was down to the jockey?)douvan is imho the best horse that the owner has..i just love him,i was gutted for JERS GIRL not only for my pocket but for the yard (small)such a nice guy @Aintree the other week and a red to boot!
I,d appreciate anyone who lives in limerick whats the chances of it being on?.

When: 26 Dec 15 17:11
Hello Tony, not disagreeing with you,in fairness to Don he was starting a fightback,we will never know, agree Kempton didn't suit either.
Very hard lines for Jers Girls backers, much the best horse, sloppy at the last was the difference, she is a lovely horse all the same.
Rained heavyish for about 12 hours earlier in Cork(60 miles),course site said twas a dry day up there haha, can't see it being on myself Tony.

MCKENNA

Still misting down here Tony,no let up all day so doubt if they will get the go ahead. If they do run it, ground will have be worse than usual heavy(although "usual heavy" ground in Limerick is something else!). Racing manager has tweeted that there is a dry overnight forecast but the course is unraceable  so not sure how it will improve by the morning.

I know you don't know what a winner looks like, but I do Gotchee, and I can assure you I made money today!

For those that can get, the 15-8 on Sizing John without Douvan is an absolute corking bet. 5-4 would be big.

Tea For Two looked really exciting on chase debut, and I think he will take a hell of a lot of beating. He oozed class that day, and came up out of Lizzie Kellys hands at every fence.

I though the race Native River won at Chelt kind of fell into his hands, and though the test of stamina today will suit, I just feel he lacks the class and potential of Tea For Two.

Those, along with Beau Mome were my main bets.

I had a good go at Vautour ante post, and saved on DC today at 5-2. One looked a winner everywhere bar the line, and the other would have won.

Jers Girl was done at 1.09.

Small bets on the 2 hcp chases done no damage.

Bacardys is big now at 2.5

And the days profit was iced in the bumper(along with a little gem from the Snapper in the 4.40 Wolves...but don't mention that on, its a secretWink)

Well done to all who contributed, and had an opinion. Unlucky today Chelts, thems the breaks. Cracking thread Pa. Maybe lob one up for tomorrow.

Better racing at Leop, I'm off out there myself. If anyone fancies a pint, I may have my arm twisted to sample one!

Have backed Gilgamboa e.w ante post. Will have a good go at Vaniteux and SS at Kemp.

Would you kop on to yourself callit.

Anyone who backs in every race can't win.

Yourself and snap are well matched?

Typical aftertiming stuff but that has to be expected with your postsLaugh

Ta Lapsy.

One of these days we will have a racing fred that is just about errr racing..

Never thought Kempers would suit DC but still thought he would win 2 out. Rupert went too soon (or pulled there) on Vatour for me. Still a great run for a virtual novice mind.

thanks MCKENNA, I really like one of elliots that was down to run today, but looks like limerick will be a washout this year,
hi pa, yes he was stating to try to get back I just think he had taken too much out of himself by then the way he was in the race jockey had to get after him just to hold position at times..but I would put it down to the track..
jers girl, as you say pa last done her

Amazes me how people come to a conclusion that horses don't stay after one run ffs, pet hate of mine,
The ironic thing is Cue Card and Don Cossack have ran like blatant non stayers more than once in their respective careers to date,
You cannot go on one performance or even two to determine wether a horse stays or not,
Whilst I can understand why ruby took it up so far out in hindsight I think he may regret going for home far too early, Vautour was dead on his feet on the run it because ruby asked him to race much too early, if Cue Card was ridden in the same manner and Vautour waited with for a bit longer then Vautour wins easy and is a short priced fav for the GC, I really hope they don't go the Ryanair on the back of that, that's the easy option imo, Gold Cups are what racing is about, they need to run him over 3 miles again, hold onto him if he doesn't win then by all means run him in the Ryanair. Ruby knew passing the post he was chinned ye could see it in his body language, great race mind even though it cost me, and another valiant effort in defeat my al ferof, let's hope the Lexus is as exciting but I doubt it!

If you knew anything about racing cheltenhambore you would know that Ricci doesn't buy staying chasers. Apart from Djackadam I doubt Ricci has had  a horse that has won a decent 3 mile chase?
Stick to the knitting cheltenhambore because Vatour wouldn't stay three mile two and a half furlongs in the back of a horsebox.
You display a shocking level of ignorance.
