Decalec the last time Willie won that bumper was with Florida Pearl in ’96. There has been some very expensive failures since then including the biggest certainty of all time Champagne Fever.
I have some very mixed memories of the race. Only winner I recall was Elegant Concorde. Had a fair swipe on Go Native who had worked very well with Harchibald the week beforehand. Looking back there has been some very interesting renewals though it’s notable that Willie hasn’t really had many subsequent stars contest it so I don’t think it’s a race he hugely targets. For what it’s worth, Some Neck is his bumper horse that I’ll be watching out for in the coming days. |

All the best, Lapsy. May the betting gods be with ye (or St Steve)
I shall now resume looking for my head... |

Feck, how are ya G2D,very happy Christmas to you, good feature on "The Penny Dinners" this evening on RTE,we were talking about that a while ago.
Quite sure that is a bit of tongue and cheek the head remark,i know when i lose mine i certainly find it the next morning. Me Mam gave me a tenner this evening to put on a winner for her tomorrow, the feeling with the thread is a strong fancy for Beau Mome in the opener,i'm going on that(a good show is important there as the feckin eejit(with laugh tbf) could be trotted out. Thanks very much, hope you are keeping well. |

Boloocks! I missed it. Surely will get a re-run? I've been cooking for Kildare today (hence the head remark) and am now gonna settle down with a large malt and study the gee-gees for the 982472728 time since Monday. Don't think Vatour will lead tomorrow btw, why would they want to? Gonna be some furious pace anyway from Smad Place and SC.
That fella in the 1st had better lift his legs up this time or Willie will have it flapping. I'm probably gonna be baw deep on A Toi Phil in the 2nd as by all accounts he's a bit of a monster and will forgive him that aberration the other day. Also i wouldn't back one of the favs connections with stolen money from a langer. Not a bother Lapsy regarding health mucker; and i hope i find ye the same. Dangerous game to be giving the ol' girl a tip, the last time i did that the poor phucker died (not the ma) and she still hasn't forgiven me. She also bought me some Duberry boots for chrimbo and i don't want her to take the beauts back..... |

Everything is repeated 5/6 times with Irish telly i'm convinced they are in cahoots with the publicans. Said it to a buddy a few days ago how bad the telly was, gave me a gig stick thing and told me put it into the back of de telly and you can watch films,it worked alright, watched a Tarantino film "The Hateful Eight" with it,twas alright,RTE probably knows the score and can just throw out any old rubbish.
Feckers wanted £47 for a bottle of chivas at Stanstead, ended up with a bottle of glenrothes which isn't bad tack for the price, try before you buy an all even though it was 6.00am. Well deserved for you after doing the dinner. Cracking thread and before i get the will ya ever feck off lapsy,i better get back on track. Best of luck with A Toi Phil, found it hard what to make of him, the Tom Treacy booking is throwing me, i,m leaning towards they really are trying to give him a winner,so bit wary of the race overall. Baws deep on my part will probably be ew on Blazing West at Limerick, see a race there first but no probs with going, fav could be different class but my wan is tough ould thing. Best of Luck. |

Morning all great racing thread, well done Pa , sad to see Limerick off , hopefully tomorrow will be better but with the rain we're having I'd take a shot of odds on about it going ahead . Chepstow gone as well I see but luckily there seems to be still plenty of racing going ahead elsewhere in the UK .My biggist bet is a LAY of Vatour , not impressed by him the last day and in against some battled harded pros who will test his jumping ,in fact if you read his form he has beat some pretty awful rags . Maybe this will come back to haunt me ,but I'm willing to take the chance , some cracking racing in the novice department both here and UK . Not to sure what I'm backing but will be tempted no doubt . Have a cracking day lads and bring home the bacon....

Morning Workrider,Happy Christmas Gutfeeling.
Quick updates on the markets as i see them in a few races. 12.15 Coney Island is solid 12.45 Vigil went sub 4/5 for a while gone odds against again now,not sure with this race. 1.20 Weakness of Footpad is the main point, Campeador backed and Rashaan solid. 3.25 Doesn't seem to be great confidence with Bacardys at roughly 10/11,gone out a bitfrom earlier, maybe in part due to the well noted stat highlighted earlier in the thread. Best of luck all. |

I like Open Eagle in the first at Kempton ,classy flat racer and will have the speed on this easy circuit to topple the fav...

Anticipated money coming for Beau Mome now. 5s, 4s, 7-2 and 3s looks good.
Lets hope he walks the walk today. Coney very solid form alright. But I wouldn't be a huge fan of his tail swishing under the cosh, and if Beau Mome is what they think he is,.......he wins. |

WD Pa.
Mome free as a bird there. Did Townend lose the tack early doors? |
|
By:
How far are atr behind ,they were not even at the 2nd last and the race was over on here , shocking stuff from them ..
|
|
By:
I was on Beau Mome Callit, just went out like a light, scrappy run with not settling and not great jumping early, back foot.
|
|
By:
D/R they had 3 to jump and the race was OVER on here , whats going on ffs....
|
|
By:
Yeah, the loose horse seemed to get him very lit up.
|
|
By:
jumped very poorly/novicey, very unsettled early. But then you had Townened looking between his legs like he was on a machine late on. Went out like a light.

Disappointing that Limerick is off, as thought Outlander was one of the bets of the day down there.
For those that can get, the 15-8 on Sizing John without Douvan is an absolute corking bet. 5-4 would be big. Ttebbob has been very impressive in his two chase runs, but they have been two solos. This will be a vastly different test. Sizing John was a better hurdler, and given how much this stables improve for a fence, and how he screams chaser, there is nor reason to believe TTebbob will improve more for the change of discipline. The outright market has decided that SJ wont beat Douvan, so have made TTebbob second fav.(he in all probability wont, and Douvan is a good bet at 8-13) But that doesn't mean SJ should be behind Tttebob in that market, or the without market. I feel Ttebbob will probably try turn this into a stamina test, and go too fast. SJ and Douvan to float past him on the turn for home. 15-8 is a ridiculous price. |

Thought West Wizard was worth chancing off an exploitable mark in the hcp chase at Kemp.
Likewise King of Brega in the hcp chase at Leop. Backed Campeodor at 5s and Jers Girl at 9-2 in Juvenile. Tea For Two looked really exciting on chase debut, and I think he will take a hell of a lot of beating. He oozed class that day, and came up out of Lizzie Kellys hands at every fence. I though the race Native River won at Chelt kind of fell into his hands, and though the test of stamina today will suit, I just feel he lacks the class and potential of Tea For Two. Backed Vautour at 4s, and stake saver on DC at 5-2. |

Have layed N/River..

Tea for Two not settled at all. She be better off letting him rip, and use his jumping.

what a ride from the girl..
|

By:
WD Lizzy. Fair beast. Went 4 mile, pulled like f**k, nearly slipped up on paddock bend......class animal.

By:
Paul Townend didn't feel well after his earlier rides so is not riding Douvan-Patrick Mullins takes the ride. Think Robbie will tear off in front and really try and put the pressure on the other 2.

I hope he does tear off McKenna. There will be a big hole waiting for him if he does.

Layed Douvan ,think he'll find it tough against a mudlark like Ttebob and the classy John
