The most entertaining athlete on the planet. You tell 'em Frank. ![]() |

I meet him a few years ago Roger; a clever Business man is Conor, a very funny guy when not talking about U.F.C.
By:
He is just copying Floyd Mayweather though ain't he? Be loud, bold and brash, make enough noise and you will be fast tracked to the big fights, obviously he is a good fighter to get there too. I doubt if he wasn't fighting he would be raking it in Frank, after all he was on the scratcher before this fighting lark took off.
By:
It is clearly just a persona he puts on for the fighting and i have been told by those who have met him he is totally different and a nice lad
By:
Mayweather
Have you watched him fighting lately? He hasn't knocked anyone out in years...He can back up the talk. Big test for him coming up. |
By:
Yep funny Roger, i have seen Floyd fight recently and live and i believe his record is 49 fights and 49 wins
By:
Nobodys doubting Floyd's ability but he hadn't knocked anyone out in 4 years....
By:
Mayweather is the greatest defensive fighter iv ever seen, not my fav person outside the ring,...We will find how good Mcgregor is on the 12of Dec when he meets Aldo, a different animal to anyone Conor has meet before.
By:
What has that got to do with anything, he doesn't have to knock out an opponent and have not heard him claiming much recently he would do.
I said McGregor was copying Mayweather out of the ring with being loud, bold and brash so why you seem to be comparing them by what they've achieved (in which case Floyd wins hands down) in the ring i do not understand? I don't watch or really care for UFC much but i would imagine most fights end by KO due to the nature of it |
By:
Frank how can you say Floyd is not your fav person out of the ring yet you seem to think Conor is the greatest thing ever while they basically act the same unless you're talking about why happened in Floyd's personal life?
By:
Never said Conor was the greatest think ever P.F,.. Also unlike Mayweather Conor was never sent to jail for beating up his partner.
By:
They don't really act the same, PF. Mayweather (though a great boxer) is a woman beating thug outside the ring, Connor is bleamish free, by comparison.
Conor is a far superior talker, promoter and a much more entertaining personality. The only reason Mayweather makes more is because he benefits from hundreds of years of boxing tradition and fan base. By contrast Conor is doing more than anyone (Ronda aside, possibly) to build a fledgling sport. I'm a fan. |

I wonder will Aldo be allowed to go at him this time.........probably not in Dublin.
By:
It's not in Dublin, unfortunately.
By:
Right, maybe it's Aldo's turn then.
By:
Perhaps, but if we are to be cynical, then there is only one winner, and it ain't Aldo.
Also, interestingly, the market gave Chad Mendes a better chance of beating Conor than it did Aldo. Down to style of fighting, I believe. |
By:
I did mention about Floyd's personal life and it was obvious what I meant.
As for Conor being a better promoter, when he sells there numbers Floyd has then I may believe you. As for a superior talker, well if constantly telling an unbeaten fighter that he is a **** and you are going to kick him in his f@nny well if you find that humorous you are either a 14 year old virgin or have an IQ of 14, I know it's all to sell the fight but most of the stuff Conor and his moronic fans (as shown in Dublin last time) come out with is cringeworthy. I would have thought the likes of George St Pierre and BJ Penn etc....... have had a lot to do with building this sport? Rhonda Roussay? That the motormouth who was going to beat everybody including the best pound for pound boxer on the planet that ended up asleep last week against some Australian who incidentally used to be a boxer?? |
By:
How can he achieve similar numbers in a fledgling support? It's an unfair comparison.
By:
* sport
By:
as regards him being a superior talker, you may not appreciate the content, but he can string a phrase together and is verbally adroit.
By:
Plenty have helped build the sport but at the moment he is key. Nobody gets numbers like him, and he is bringing the sport to new lucrative parts of the world.
By:
Verbally adroit
![]() Also has a f@nny and I am going to kick him in it, aye he is different class, I would cringe if I heard that on the schoolyard from a child ffs |
By:
*Aldo*
By:
And as for my IQ, darling, last time I checked it was 168.
By:
He comes out with some cracking lines. Yes, a lot of it is base and peurile, but some of it is clever and he can turn a phrase.
By:
For example he is very entertaining on US chat shows where content is very sanitised. He is in huge demand.
By:
You seem quite flustered this morning, 3-4 replies to my every one post.
I was referring to the build up to fights, these promotional tours etc.... where he is zero entertaining bar to the boorish morons like those that attended the one in Dublin in the IFSC (I think it was there). I also mentioned it is clearly just a persona for the fighting as those who have met him have told me he is totally different away from that. He does however come across as an immature tool within and around the sport as does Floyd Mayweather. Got things to do so I'll debate your 3-4 replies later when I get the chance. |

I think you will find my replies are staccato and take no longer to compile than your more lengthy entreaties.
By:
There isn't really a debate to be had, if you don't like his style or content, then that's your perrogative.
By:
If it's a personna, so what? It's a highly successful one and huge numbers of people find it entertaining.
It's just business, baby. |
