France 16-1

I think France will beat Ireland, avoid New Zealand and make the semi final and then have an even money chance of making the final. The warm up games have proved that Ireland are vulnerable but worse, tactically have been sussed.

I am going for the trade here and if everything goes to plan  will re-evaluate at the semi final.

Cheers and gl.Wink

Best thing to happen Ireland has been losing the last two games.  Dampens down expectation.

Have no doubt that they will beat France.  How any French coach can continually pick the same donkeys in the side repeatedly is beyond me.  As has been said above Michalak is a flake.  when the going gets tough he will be nowhere to be found.  How they dropped Trinh Duc is beyond me.  They have Spedding at full back which says it all, and that show pony at No 8.  Added to that they have Fofana who has never passed the ball in his entire career.  They are the most ill disciplined side in the tournament with Pape and the No 8 who are penalty machines.

New Zealand are a serious lay.  McCaw slipping, Carter not at the races(Wouldnt mind the last Aus match, he is miles off the pace), Nonu, Smith all getting on in years.  They are always at their weakest in the year of the world cup and it looks that case again.
Report frank60 September 15, 2015 4:47 PM BST
I have to agree with you Willy about N.Z. being a lay, ..2.3 to win the world cup for a team that has never won The Webb Ellis Cup outside there own land is the bet for me. I backed Ireland a good while back at 12.5 h..hope they lose there complex about the big one.
Report Ozymandius September 17, 2015 10:29 AM BST
BWS, not sure what French no. 8 you are refering to as a 'show pony' and 'penalty machine'.  Picamoles is the No. 8, and I can only assume you have not seen him in the warm up games?  He has lost a lot of weight and was fantastic in the two games against England, head and shoulders the best Forward on the park.  Huge talent.

Whist the Boks have an easy pool, they will likely have to beat  all 3 of the top teams in the market to win it. Possible but not for me.

Did anyone hear George on Newstalk today (Thurs)? He said that the four semi-finalists would be 'South Africa, New Zealand, England and Australia'. That's a pity George as no way can these four be the semi-finalists, George said lines like 'if I was a gambling man' (he used to be) he'd back these four to be semi-finalists. He musn't have looked at bookies sites as this quartet is not even listed as a potential semi-final quartet; they cant be.

Strange to hear the otherwise well-informed George coming out with this forecast......

A big problem for Ireland is,they cant afford to have any injuries to key personnel,Sexton,Murray,O'Brien,Heaslip and O'Connell going into the french game.

I was in PP today and they were offering what they call a Daily Power surge between 5.30 and 6oc on the Rugby world cup, todays special 'South Africa, New Zealand, England and ireland all to win there Pool groups  10/3,  Foremites like Oz and Callit would know better then myself if these bets are worth takeing.
Report callitasucit September 17, 2015 10:51 PM BST
That would have represented a bit of value today Frank.

Taking Boyles prices, which would be the best accumulated on them 4, the acca would pay just under 11-4. Taking the best price on each with various bookies, would yield just over 11-4. That obviously isn't possible.

The accumulated betfair odds would be currently a shade over 10-3, but slightly under after commission. So if you fancied the 4, it would be a good bet. Usually a max of a ton on these though??

The majority of the time these specials are not actually a good price, just mug bets dressed up, and under the actual odds.

I am not a rugby punter but as a sports fanatic will be interested in most games.

I think handicap punting in all sports is generally for mug punters as it's rare that you can align the interest of your handicap bet with the complete interests of the teams involved (regardless of how the game evolves). Bookies often take the draw as a bonus on already 100% +O/R'S.

However the forum could do with some sports threads and a bit of life so daily threads on spreads etc might be interesting.

Report dj876 September 18, 2015 12:00 AM BST
You haven't an iota about any aspect of punting Kingrat as evinced by all your posts on here.

You're bookies fodder who plays on novelty markets with extortionate O'R's such as HT/FT and 3 way handicaps.

There isn't any mathematical analysis to your selections as we saw with your laughable selections in the challenge with PA on here.

You're what is described as a non-price sensitive (mug). Generally putting up 6/1 shots that were trading at double figure odds on here.

Despite your hot air and occasional C+P, you're a punting green horn and not one of much potential either.

Dont know the mood in Kerry , kingrat , I was away in Spain for the match and for 9 days after that .  The Dubs played well , so Kerry will realise that , the weather was not conducive to good football , and I think Kerry made several blunders re personnel during the match .  Whether that was down to injuries will only emerge in the course of time .

Still really only 3 good teams in the country , the rest are a good bit behind . There will be no panic in Kerry , remains to be seen whether some of the older hands will pack it in county wise .
Report Kelly October 5, 2015 1:52 AM BST
As you say frank , a win is a win . Ireland were disappointing today , Italy we know are no world beaters , and we struggled to scrape a win , with a green spectacled ref too .  Conor Murray was pretty dire , unless he was under instructions to kick everything or to protect Sexton .

Just wonder what we beat in 2 previous games  , hype machine a go go possibly . We are now the best supported team in the competition I suspect , bums on seats wise , but think we will need more than that to get our hands on the Cup .

imo that was one of the best collective performance from an Irish pack that I have ever seen.It was brutal and savage but they pulverised a heavier French pack, destroyed their line out and reduced the French to panic.I dont know but I think the the sight of the great warrior and leader O'Connell on the deck galvanised them. And what about Madigan?he brings a more exciting off the cuff dynamic than the cerebral Sexton, his passing and darting runs was surperb.

Now, back to business,I think the bet is f**ked but make no mistake the French pride has took a battering and they will be slaughtered back home.I expect them to regroup and will give the All Blacks a game but I doubt it will be good enough but you never know.
