Looks like Gallagher going to get the top 6.

F*ck that triple bogey from Luke earlier. Sterling effort to get back into it, but running out of holes. Looks like Rorys now.

Nice lift .  Some putt from Shane on the 18th , pity it wasnt for eagle .  Both of them would have loved a play-off if that had happened  . Maybe another time !

Close but not much cigar again this week. Nice final round from Stevie G to bag the place money. Just a shame Luke threw in that 7Cry

Going to play up the 2 ball winnings from Europe, Walker 8-11, Scott 4-5 and Dufner 5-6 all look bankers, and well worthy of support in singles and up.

Hopefully Speith can work his way into top 5 to bag the place part of e.w double. Might have a few quid on Walker at 10.5, and Scott at 14s. Lot of holes in the leaderboard.

With this win - Rory McIlroy

•His sixth European Tour International Schedule victory in his 134th European Tour event.
•Moves to €1,295,825 in The Race to Dubai.
•His first European Tour victory since the 2012 DP World Tour Championship, Dubai.

•Becomes the first player from Northern Ireland to win the BMW PGA Championship.
•Began the final day seven shots behind the 54 hole leader, Thomas Björn. This equals the largest final round comeback in the history of the Championship, set by Simon Khan in 2010.
•Only the second of his six European Tour victories where he has made up a final round deficit to win. Made up three to win the 2011 Hong Kong Open and seven at the 2014 BMW PGA Championship.

•His seven shot final round comeback is the largest since Robert Green made up seven at the 2010 Portugal Masters.
•His first European Tour victory in England and first on European soil.
•Becomes only the second Irishman to win the Championship and first since Harry Bradshaw on at Llandudno in Wales in 1958.

•The 50th Northern Irish win in European Tour history.
•His 66 today marks the first time has broken 70 in the final round of the BMW PGA Championship.
•His 12th victory as a professional.

•The 46th different winner in the Championship’s 60th edition.

36 hole US OPEN Sectional Qualifier at Walton Heath.

Shane Lowry put his BMW PGA disappointment quickly behind him to open with a three under par 69 and put himself in position to grab one of 14 US Open places on offer in this Qualifier.

But with many of the first round scores still to come in it looks as though Pádraig Harrington will be watching the Pinehurst No 2 action on TV after he posted a three over 75 on the same track.

Mount Juliet touring professional Kevin Phelan is also facing a near impossible task after carding a 74 on the Old Course.
Northern Ireland's Michael Hoey withdrew before the start to concentrate his energies on this week's Nordea Masters in Sweden and the forthcoming Irish Open at Fota Island.

Welshman Stuart Manley, playing in the first group of the day, opened with a 66 on the New Course to set the early pace.

Afternoon round is under way.

Looks safe enough after today,1.9 looks massive on Froome for TDF even though Contador has had a better preparation this year, although perhaps it's better to get involved after the first week (crashes) if the price doesn't contract too much.

ALSO for the adventurous on here....add this Colombian to any accums -
Nairo Quintana (Movistar Team) at evens to win the Giro - blame Sean Kelly et al if he falls/fails.

Yes DJ,
A monster of a day today !

Amazing money to be made on this pedalling stuff
- touched 4's approx. a few days ago - even today he was about 5/6 before the third climb - watched him just before he took some gels on board, ditched the bottle
- then just took off up the road like he knows best (was heading south to 2/7 within a km).

Had a 'Top Ranking' Yankee bet too...

Henrik Stenson @ 21.00 (World #1 in waiting)
Adam Scott @ 17.00 (Current #1 for nearly a week)
Nairo Quintana @ 2.10 (Giro Fav)
Bernhard Langer @ 5.50 (Charles Schwab Cup Points leader)

SORRY GUYS, in all the Caroline news and confusion last week forgot about this bet with a different/new bookie (awaiting another account closure email no doubt).

Stenson part LOST...IF he birdied 18 for 5th I was right O !...Scott won...Lets say Quintana WON ffs and Langer was tied 3rd (with 8 golfers involved in the payout)

1 Colin Montgomerie -13
2 Tom Watson -9

T3 Jay Haas -7
T3 Bernhard Langer -7 (@ 5.50)

T5 Joe Durant -6
T5 Mark Brooks -6
T5 David Frost -6
T5 Bart Bryant -6

HOW IS THIS BET SETTLED (e/w yankee - 5 places - remember Langer was T3)

p.s. not a boasting post as only discovered this Quintana bet now.
