I think the time of the season has come come where Rory McIlroy is the man to back....large!! I was always of the opinion that there was too much pressure being put on him to get it right for the masters. From the moment he missed the cut in Abu Dhabi, the vultures were out. 'Will he get used to the new clubs for the masters....will he find his form for the masters....will he still be no. 1 for the masters....will he play more tournaments to get it right for the masters??' The masters is over, he is not still number 1, time to move on. And where better to set his season back on track, than where he got his debut pga win? A venue where he also finished runner up last year. He wasnt bad at Augusta, just this years problem of consistency caught him out on Saturday. Nowhere near that pressure this weekend, i expect we will see a different Rory McIlroy. Took the tens e.w at Ladbrokes yesterday, but 9s e.w still looks a cracking bet.
Will have a couple of smaller than normal investments on a few others, basically because i really think Rory deserves the bulk of the stake money this wk. Going with, Garrigus, Pod and Blixt for those wagers, having thought long and hard about including Phil, whose course form is very solid. Might still add him.

Golf thread very quiet this week, going for two e/w shots with powers because their paying 6 places,1st one is D.A Points 33/1,coming into this in good form finishing 2nd last week, and was beaten in a playoff last year in this tournament, also going for Kyle Stanley played well last week,1st good showing for the year after changing to new clubs, so at 66/1 worth a bets aswell. good luck with the bets.

Chancing my arm with two longshots for an initial small money interest, long hitter Jason Kokrak and a previuos runner up in Ben Curtis, at 240/340 respectively, also did them for a place.Gl with yours.

Phil win at 21's
Pod top 5 18's.

Played early Monday - av some value anyway!

DA Points 50 - Season has really turned around in the last month, won the Shell Hueston Open and was a v good 2nd last week when he played very well in New Orleans! And was 2nd round here last year when just losing out in a playoff after a final round 71 cost him

Lucas Glover 55 - bounced back to form last week when 4th, played some crackin stuff for 3 rounds and has a good record here with a win, a 2nd and a 4th here in the last 7 years

Russell Henley 125/1 ew - a player i really like and think he will win again sooner rather than later, finished 6th in the RBC Heritage when last seen. Is his first time playing in this but is ranked 9th on Tour in Total driving (Accuracy and distance combined) so his game should suit here. Has a v good strokes gained putting figure too which should help on the quick greens

Rory Sabbatini 240 - Showed his first signs of life for a long time 2 weeks ago when 9th in the Heritage. Likes it around here with a fair record in the last 7 years of -mc-3-mc-mc-67-3-52

Jonathan Byrd 180 - similar to above ^ has had a horrid start to the season in all honesty but course form is v good and could outplay his price

Just hearing that Padraig is trying a belly putter this weekCry. Don't know the thoughts behind this as there is a good chance they are to be banned in a few years. He really is an enigma.
Report Arklearkle May 2, 2013 2:01 PM BST
Looks like he needs a belly driver also - in the rough on four of the first five holes. Two over after 4 and in trouble on the par 5 fifth.
Report Dan Chipowski May 2, 2013 2:39 PM BST
Now 4 over after 6 and dead last. Nice one Pod. Laugh
Report Dan Chipowski May 2, 2013 2:40 PM BST
Make that 5 over thru 7. Another lovely 6 at the Par 5. Sad
Report BJG May 2, 2013 2:50 PM BST
He really is unrealCrazy

Dunno why he constantly has to keep changing stuff

He's some boy our Padraig.Laugh. Bellyputter my arse, having said that it seems to be his driving today is the cause. But theres nearly always something going wrong with Pod every week it seems. On abrighter note, grand start by big Phil.
Report p_r_e_m_i_e_r__f_a_n_t_a_s_y May 2, 2013 5:11 PM BST
typical Phil, going along lovely, gets to 8 and makes a tit of it and comes away with bogey PlainLaughPlain

Poor start from Rory today. Putting been v poor. Should have been few shots better yesterday.
Report Deplasterer May 3, 2013 1:39 PM BST
Poor greens aren't helping matters though callit. Bit of a lottery really.
Report callitasucit May 3, 2013 1:57 PM BST
Yeah, they are shocking. God knows what they be like come Sunday.
Report BJG May 3, 2013 8:48 PM BST
U know the greens are bad when they start chipping instead of putting!

I'd be disappointed if Phil don't finish the job off from here tbh
Report rubyisgodinthesaddle May 4, 2013 1:23 PM BST
Come on PHILExcitedLove
Report callitasucit May 4, 2013 2:10 PM BST
I be very disappointed if i don't collect. Rory is surely the biggest danger to Phil. Phil has converted 19 out of 34 36hole leads or share of. Suggests his current price is still quite decent. Was hoping Garrigus could maybe tie Phil lead last night, but his confidence on the greens now looks shot to pieces. Watney and Ww would look my biggest dangers, but Ww is finding it increasingly hard to win, and Watney can just f*ck off!!
Report rubyisgodinthesaddle May 4, 2013 10:03 PM BST
Phil just had a shocker of a 2nd there at 15. Loses a ball, then look. Takes another ball out changes to his 3 wood and hits the exact same shot. What a player!!
Report callitasucit May 5, 2013 12:34 AM BST
Thought Phil had it wrapped up on the 15th tee, not so!!

Report callitasucit May 5, 2013 8:24 PM BST
Yeah, from the second shot on 15, it was a fu*kin nightmare!!Hopefully Hawkins can pull off the miracle to make up for it!
Report rubyisgodinthesaddle May 5, 2013 8:56 PM BST
I learned my lesson from Phil after that.

An absoulute shocking effort over the weekend +2 I think he was
Report huddys May 6, 2013 10:42 AM BST
