after today losing pick  its time to try and replenish the funds ...no doubt the usual suspects will come aboard and tell me their kind thoughts if this gets beat ..but i'm stronger than that , tomorrows pick is bridgets pet 2.15 ..i like this fellow very much , his attitude is good , has a recent run under its belt , gets a few pounds off the top weights , i was at naas the day he beat one of willies , he came from a mile back and won going away at the finish ....so the trip is in his favour ...hope we can just have a racing thread , rather than allowing the usual clowns take over ..good luck tomorrow...

I will going against you here Wonky. One of the poorest jockeys of a NH horse there is. Can't see a stride and looks like he will fall off at any stage.
Report Bigwillystyle October 24, 2012 6:43 PM BST
Horse is decent  and likes ground though
Report workrider October 24, 2012 6:50 PM BST
he wouldn't be my fav jockey either , but he gets the job done ..a smashing card there tomorrow , sadly i'm otherwise engaged so wont make it , lunch appointment , but for anyone heading that way it could be profitable just watching and taking notes....

Wonker.....i told you my thoughts today before your horse ran not afterwards......as for bridgets pet......goodish horse in a decent race......has a recent run and will go on the ground whatever it is.......the negatives being its  a stable that is not prolific.....the jockey is ordinary at best.......and  its jumping is very haphazard.....it has a chance definitely but to me its quite likely to finish riderless tomorrow......

Danny Mullins wasnt at his greatest on Bridgets Pet the last day and Robbie Power (the worst jockey around) rode Jetson like he wasn't off a yard at Gowran the last day. Both horses should win today barring jockey mishaps.

3.50 Everything Zain, young Cooper might wait until the last second  to pounce to try taking away the "dodging it" option from the horse as it doesn't like being in front too long, very weak here this morning though.

Spot on lapsy but Hennesy in trainer quotes in RP wasn't too bullish

Mossley: Robbie Hennessy, trainer: “He blew up on his first run for us at Gowran and should strip a lot fitter here, but does seem hard to get fit and might need this run too. He’s well in on ratings and if he was in the first four I’d be happy.”

Ye should keep an eye on Newcastle tomoro. Nicky Richards runs one in each division of the maiden hurdle. Russell gone over to ride them. The Morozov horse is a smashing individual. Saw him when went through the sales and watched him when he made a winning debut in Kelso to justify strong support. The one in the other division will win races too.

Was there today and although the crowd was relatively small everyone seemed to be backing winners.
Worrying drift on Our Victoria in the first put me off but she still won seems the drift was orchestrated  and once the 3/1 show hit the offices they pounced.Things levelled off for me as I went off Jetson when I saw him a very small horse also sustained support for Farrells Fancy made me keep my hands in my pocket.
Kilmurry Kid looked a certainty to me when he fell,I backed him and a friend of mine had a decent each way bet on Baby's Hot so devastation when my beast brought his horse down.
I backed the local horse in the last as did most of the race goers just missed the 11/2 and am now so bloody slow was lucky to get the 4/1, you can discount Make It Betters run as he was patently unfit and will improve a stone from that run.
Report Bigwillystyle October 25, 2012 10:16 PM BST

Report Allduckornodinner October 26, 2012 2:09 PM BST
They showed plenty alrite. I wasn't necessarily tipping them for today as it is quite tough to win first time over hurdles but I do think they are both useful and worth following. You would have to be happy if you were the trainer. If Eduard gets a clear run he will be a 140+ horse without a doubt in my mind.
Report lapsy pa October 26, 2012 2:31 PM BST
I read it as you said it that they were races to watch, always liked the idea of following young unexposed ones(like Royal academys thread last year) that have a bit of potential and they certainly do.we,ll see how far they go,Nicky Richards for him seemed fairly delighted with them.A good post and flag up from you yesterday.
Report Allduckornodinner October 27, 2012 9:32 AM BST
Yeah lapsy I find NH racing easier because you can often pick out horses after a run or two that are bankers to win plenty of races. I prefer to follow them and wait as opposed to trying to eye up the day to day stuff. I put up Captain Sunshine as my dark horse to follow here this time last year on the back of his run in the DBS Bumper and is showing a healthy level stakes profit since then and will continue to win races. There are a few nice ex-pointers running this weekend that should be watched though they are probably not quite as good as Fox Run who won for Nicholls during the week.
Report workrider October 27, 2012 10:57 AM BST
DID FOX RUN look a little on the small side or was that my imagination allduck....?
Report Allduckornodinner October 27, 2012 7:21 PM BST
Wouldn't say he's particularly small wr. Have never seen him in the flesh but I would make him at least 16.1h. Not a monster by any means but he's a more racy type than many ex-pointers. Scope is more important to me than size anyway.
Report workrider October 27, 2012 9:11 PM BST
maybe you're right allduck ...thought he looked a little on the small side , if hes won a p2p then i'm sure he has a bit of size about him...
