That's silly, if you think the horse is a steering job i'd imagine the horse is shorter than 11/10 on your tissue, in that case 11/10 'is value' as you have it shorter. It doesn't matter if there is another horse in another race that you also fancy that is a bigger price, if that horse is also above your tissue you back both
Well done on the winner MD |

An 11/10 shot is value if you consider it a 1/2 shot etc as we all know.
I would say the Brighton horse is very moderate and a very winnable race was left behind. Not one to follow unless you enjoy cliffs. Henry Candy is very good with sprinters. That one today is no star but can be placed to win again this autumn and Ishigurus seem to enjoy the wet sod. |

Agreed PF,
I am sure you did scoff at the 1/1 Sugar Ray at the weekend simply because you fancied another dog in an earlier race at 5/2 etc. If 2 horses are overpriced in comparison to your tissue on the same day, you hardly leave one behind because you really really fancy the other. |

lads im sure if it was that easy to pick winners we all would be at it?.the facts are that magic md was on here a few years ago and his tipping(free)made a lot of us a lot of money. me and md had several arguements and discussions here but i can say i came out 2nd in most of them!!we even had a competition between us on a certain event a few years ago..he beat me hands down and his knowledge of all things sporting is very impressive..his buddy snap is now posting tip in the last while and had been very very good.the attitude of some people on here is unreal.ok the 2nd one won at 7/2 with a hands and heels ride from dane o neill and surely will be fav next time out under a 7lb penalty, thats how impressive she looked.the first race at brighton(steering job)is more complicated.its sp evs suggested a 50%chance of winning.the 2nd and 3rd favs were supported to beat it.he beat these out of sight but sadly for us an unconsidered and unbacked rag came up the rail and beat us.if they ran the race again im sure the fav would win.so please people if were getting nuggets of info from snap dont shoot the messenger!!

I was only replying to this comment no value in backing 11/10 shots when your nap for the day is 7/2! i don't think i have ever replied before to a post made by Snap so i hope your post is not aimed at me.

not you at all.its fine to talk about percieved value etc.people arnt slow to slag people who give a loser etc.you know what im on about..
|
|
By:
I am not slagging anyone off about backing a loser. I am trying to discuss the concept of value and what price steering job makes a horse.
The winner is not entered up anywhere over the next week so unlikely to run under a penalty. I would have thought he would get no more than 5lb for today anyway so running under a penalty would be daft. It is only the likes of Sir Mark and a few others that have 20lb in hand that usually turn them out quickly in England. Candy is very good at eeking out improvement from what may look a moderate sprinter, but this is likely to be gradual and will continue through into next year. |

For what its worth, MD's NB for today's action is Kay Gee Bee, 11/8, 6.00 Wolverhampton

You have a slightly different agenda from me and I suspect PF as well kavvie. I am not in the least bit worried about getting nuggets of information and I like to question races and discuss aspects of it.
I have never heard of a price on a horse to beat the 2nd and 3rd fav before in my life. I don't see how it is sadly for us either as snap crackle had suggested that there was no value in the price which looks like a no bet recommendation to me. If you are following his tips then surely you are not backing one that he has suggested is not value, irrespective of the steering job comments. The bets advised today were 1 bet and 1 winner. |

There will be no rule 4 ngu, all 4 non runners were 20/1 or bigger.

This is not a bad little race.
The current price looks horrible at 6/4 - 7/4 looked skinny enough anyway. Best of luck with it. |

Could well be a horse in the guise of Nationalism (same sire/owner/trainer etc) that has been very carefully handled and will improve a lot this autumn. Nationalism also danced in on his handicap debut.
I am prepared to punt Cactus e/w at 10s provided there is no rain that softens the ground further. He did it very well at Sandown (although the race has not worked out that well) and was given a poor ride at Warwick (where strangely for a fair track. horses can run odd races). If he follows home the handicap snip, I will not be incurring losses. There are a couple of other lightly raced types that could improve over the next 3-4 weeks as well and it is not a soft race. |
