Majority Cycling i would think.

If we could spend some of the money going into Quinn on one we would rake them in also.

The Scots in 2012 London

Cycling (2) Chris Hoy, Gold, Gold
Rowing  (2) Heather Stanning, Gold, Katherine Grainger, Gold
Canoeing (2)Timothy Baillie, Gold,  David Florence, Silver
Tennis   (2) Andy Murray, Gold, Silver,
    Swimming (1) Michael Jamieson, Silver,
    Gymnastics (1) Daniel Purvis, Bronze,
    Equestrian (1) Scott Brash, Gold,

I have to admit I'm quite interested in this, shows what can be done. Gymnastics and Cycling (track) would be the only ones where we couldn't realistically compete.

Still, I'd rather be independentHappyHappy

Yes, 1) because of the boxing structure in place with what 300 plus clubs around the country and a strong interest in amateur boxing. It's a shame there can only be one entrant per weight as otherwise the team would be bigger, and 2) our relationship with the horse although they seem to have had various issues amongst themselves these last few years, riders not wanting to compete with each other etc - the details now escape me but most of you will know of the arguments. You'd expect many of those horses to be Irish bred as well.

Anything else would need serious money thrown at it to compete at this level, not something that's on the agenda I suppose every 12 weeks with the Troika. At the very least we probably need a more professional track and field set up here linked to clubs and schools but frankly is there any real interest? I don't think so. Because of that, I'm happy to cheer on our nearest neighbours, no different to supporting Man U or Liverpool, and find some of the over the top commentating part of the entertainment.

The Olympics are what they are. Where else do we see the world coming together?

Fair play to Paddy Barnes, leaving everything in the ring here.

A fine example of pure heart.

Think he won alright, but no real need for the showboating at the end. He was caught with 2 or 3 clean shots.
