Cork v Bray

Bray have shipped 10 goals in their last 3, and will miss Mitchell & Massey at the back for this. Daryl Horgan has been impressing on Leeside this season, and having hit the woodwork last Fri against Derry (when 0-0), he scored first against Wexford in the cup on Monday. He is 7/1 to score first with Powers, who go 5/2 anytime scorer. Yet Ladbrokes had him at 50/1 last Fri, and go 33/1 tomorrow night. At 1/3 odds first 5 goals, assuming he starts he is worth an interest imo.

GL if you play.

Great spot kiddo.

Huge talent. Sees a pass, can dribble, score & has loads of heart.

And still only 19.
Report Dan Chipowski March 29, 2012 11:00 PM BST
Convinced me. Stuck 10e/w on him.

Good luck.

I notice Lads have cut him from 33's into 8's!

Palp email on the way perhaps. Confused

Wexford look a great bet versus bottom club Mervue, I'd have Wexford at odds-on.

Why would you say that? And then to put a laughing smiley after it, what sort of fool are you?
Report wildmanfromborneo April 2, 2012 2:34 PM BST
Surely it is obvious,MJK is a Shamrock Rovers supporter and the Kilcoynes sold out that club.
Report p_r_e_m_i_e_r__f_a_n_t_a_s_y April 2, 2012 2:40 PM BST
So what, it doesn't excuse it
Report wildmanfromborneo April 2, 2012 2:47 PM BST
You can`t stop MJK thinking and it would be hypocritical if he were to lament the passing of a sworn enemy of a host of football supporters.
It is a bit of black humour and ye shouldn`t be over sensitive.
Report p_r_e_m_i_e_r__f_a_n_t_a_s_y April 2, 2012 2:52 PM BST
MJK has shown himself up by laughing about the mans death, nothing to do with being over sensitive. It was not in the least humourous either. The man has family he has left behind and it is not nice to see some sad bitter football fan laughing at their loss.
Report wildmanfromborneo April 2, 2012 3:02 PM BST
Would it be alright if he had no family.
When you say not humorous you mean not humorous to you.
While there is personal sadness in any death if you don`t know them personally it is insincere to be feigning grief.
Report p_r_e_m_i_e_r__f_a_n_t_a_s_y April 2, 2012 3:06 PM BST
I never feigned grief, i had to google the man to see who he was. However it is wrong to laugh about his death and taking joy in it makes the person an odd individual.

You're in your usual arguementative mood so i'll leave the thread as i can't be arsed conversing with you.
Report MJK April 2, 2012 6:50 PM BST
mmm I seem to have struck a bad chord with some people. Wildman I appreciate your efforts to explain the situation but being in the Country we're in it goes above peoples' heads unless it was to do with Man Utd or Liverpool. I wouldn't usually express anything but sympathy when someone from the football world dies but in Kilcoyne's case I make an exception.

We are used to strokes being pulled in Ireland but what Kilcoyne did was wrong in so many ways.Shamrock Rovers rented Glenmalure Park from the Jesuits for a nominal rent,Kilcoyne went to the Jesuits saying he had plans for a new stand and asked them for help they agreed and sold the ground to him for a nominal fee,he applied for planning permission the next day and got it in dubious circumstances.
The most amazing thing about this affair after showing such disloyalty he was later elected president of the F.A.I.

Nobody has asked on here for any Shamrock Rovers fan to be saddened by his death.

However show and bit or decency and decorum and say nothing.
Report wildmanfromborneo April 4, 2012 10:04 AM BST
I am not a Shamrock Rovers fan although i noticed Workrider,Huddys and MJK are and as these are patently decent men i have a soft spot for Rovers.I was also struck by what the Spurs official said after the match in White Hart Lane when he said " we wouldn`t buy any of your players but we would love to have those fans"
Giant Strides understands the situation well as his post of 8.22 shows,he is a rival fan so his praising of Kilcoyne would show the depth of feeling against him.

In the saccharine world of Premier Fantasy no one would hold a grudge and we would all speak nicely of each other,a standard form of any rhetoric is to overstate your case so try asking a Jew what he thinks of Hitler.

Report wildmanfromborneo April 4, 2012 10:54 AM BST
Pa Lapsy i accept your point but both MJK and Huddys are good posters so obviously this is deep also there is a lovely irony in Giant Strides post where he tells Huddys to get over it yet still uses his name in a wounding chant.
There is another huge irony in that Kilcoyne having looted their sole asset went on to lead the F.A.I. and also the fact that now Shamrock Rovers have a brand new stadium and the other clubs seem to be losing theirs.

Report wildmanfromborneo April 4, 2012 12:44 PM BST
It seemed ironic to me but i take your point about the stadium being rented.
I read somewhere that Bohemians were trying to sell their stadium, something i would regret, but will accept your version.
Report Giant Strides April 4, 2012 1:12 PM BST
We may be forced to sell, but that's out of our hands and is unlikely to materialise in the foreseeable future according to my sources.
Back in the real world, the vast majority of our fans accept and realise that maintaining an old stadium in a built up area is financial suicide. We need to demolish the terracing  because it's not safe. But it will cost too much so pointless doing it. It's not like we're going to build another stand there (planning issues abound) and fill it. Rovers are the big draw and then can only fill one stand in their biggest game.
That's exactly what Rovers would have had to deal with too.
This chapter closed a long time ago. Long before our hero passed. KRAM!!! Laugh
Report wildmanfromborneo April 4, 2012 1:24 PM BST
Presumably your fans live in the area so you kind of have to have a stadium in a built up area,i am a traditionalist and so lament the closing down of old landmarks,i realise i can do this in the luxury of not having to provide any of the finance.
At the risk of upsetting others surely Lottery funds can be applied for.
Report Giant Strides April 4, 2012 2:03 PM BST
Don't get me wrong, most of us would much prefer to stay in Dalymount but it's simply not realistic long term.
Wr used to have a go at us about it. Don't think it's not depressing for us too. Sad
Moving to a new base in the north suburbs to tap into the locals like Rovers have done is the only way forward.
Did you know that Cabra, Phibsborough and Drumcondra combined have the most amount of elderly people in the entire country.
Many of our fans that were from the area like my friends, were priced out of it when buying during the boom.
The National Lottery only give money to GAA clubs!
Report GANT007 April 4, 2012 2:14 PM BST
They also give money to hockey and cricket clubs so crowd wise you lads should get a slice.......Surely some GAA club could rent out their training pitch to you lads.
Report Rocketfingers April 4, 2012 2:28 PM BST
Sligo Rovers rent their training pitch to the county GAA team and local club teams, so they can gallop round the place doing their training, they would have nothing like the facilities we have, we also rent it to the hockey club in Sligo.
Report wildmanfromborneo April 4, 2012 2:31 PM BST
I suppose that is realpolitic but i find it sad,all your history and tradition is in that area.I understand the point of the younger fans moving out but surely they should look on Dalymount Park as their history and their connection with the old area.
