i went on their website for a look as theres one near me and it would be handy.they are very short on nearly every price on every event?their football prices are laughable..are they tied to stan.j.ames?both websites are remarkably similar.

Report kavvie August 19, 2011 2:48 PM BST
they were standout 5/2 on one yesterday( oddschecker) so i went up and it was 2s,and the lady said it was never 5/2 all morn..they seem to be very disorganised if thats the case..

Report neill d August 20, 2011 4:19 PM BST
Mulhollands are one I thought, there is one in Limerick at Punches Cross anyway
Report ya' havin' that one dave August 21, 2011 10:39 AM BST
no such thing as a betpack shop its betpack.com
Report neill d August 21, 2011 11:05 AM BST
Think the people who own them own Mulhollands, so Mulhollands are the equivalent of their shops, Betpack.com is advertised in Mulhollands anyway.

track bookies hacketts bamburys all involved in betpack.com but these shops still set their own prices
Report neill d August 21, 2011 12:18 PM BST
Oh right, didn't know that, still find Mulholland to be very short though.

Betpack concist of bamburys, mullhollands, tullys, hacketts, toolins and a couple more.

They get their prices from s.james -these are the prices you will see on-line or on odds checker under s.james.

Go in the shops tho, and it is a different story - the prices(horses anyway)are,in many cases, jaw-droppingly shorter than the original prices.

On inquiring why they are not exactly the same as s .james prices(as used to be the case), the answer astonishingly, is that they now have two sets of prices, one for on-line customers and the other(the butchered price variety) for the poor mugs who are stupid enough to use their shops!

What a lovely way to treat your customers.

Report Pull Hard August 21, 2011 2:53 PM BST
To have it closed down within a couple of days via an e-mail from SJ!

seems like a great idea.a lot of medium sized bookmakers under the one set of prices etc..but as stated above the tully prices and mulholland prices are of wide variance..

The Betpack idea was formed a few years ago but since then they have made a bad job of a good idea. It is a proven model, it needs some investment. Unfortunately too many of them are thinking in silos and failing to see the bigger picture. Their best hope is for them to work out a shareholding in a larger group and individually cede their control to a CEO. This looks unlikely so I guess they will go around in circles for the foreseeable future and look back with regret in several years times as they lament a missed opportunity.
