Just think both are overpriced applehunter !

Fair enough.
Couldn't trust either myself. Pats have cost me a couple of grand in winnings this season already. |
|
By:
i'll be looking to bet both with the draw Apple, we'll see when the suspensions news today comes out it may throw up another bet. Anything grab your eye?

Double for me, Rovers to win, Sligo/Bohs draw.

i think people are basing bohs form on the rovers result alone....i think bohs were very much up for this game ....they put massive effort into this game ..
they never looked like scoring imo.. the goal was a scrappy one ..the only real treat is brennans free kicks ...sligo were outplayed by us last night ...but they still had more shots on target than bohs ...sligo have the better players play better and faster football than bohs ..are not reliant on any one player to get them goals .. they have more players capable of scoring than bohs have ...finally they have home advantage .....sligo win for me this weekend.... |

You're being hard on Bohs i feel WR, they were a cleared corner away from beating you last week. They may not be able to attack well but they can defend and their attacking options will be helped by te return of Fagan if he does return. And if Bohs save their best for you will then you seem to have been saving your best for us. No idea who we are saving our best for yet

By:
they were happy with the draw rocket ...in the match against us after 20 mins they got a corner brennan waited for the rovers lads to go behind the rovers goal and retrive the ball for them ...no urgency and that was after only 20 mins had been played..showed me how they had set out their stall...no ye are a better team...thats not saying bohs wont have their chances of course they will...overall ye are much the more likely to get goals ,and goals get points ...btw ....can we play you every week , can we play you every week ...

Fair enough Bohs played defensively but you never looked like breaking them down for 80 minutes. A draw was probably a fair result but it was not like you beat them into the goals for 90 minutes.
We don't look like scoring goals WR we played a crazy 4 front players yesterday we only scored 1 goal against you lads. I don't think there is as big of difference between the tops teams as people seem to think, that's why i think Pats are big away to Derry and likewise Bohs to us. WR Sligo Rovers always look forward to playing Shamrock Rovers espicially if the game is played in the Aviva ![]() |
|
By:
even then ye needed the HELP of penaltys to beat us.....

|
By:
I think the most important words in your last post WR are "Beat us"
![]() |

Whatever about the prices on offer I would go for-
1. Sligo to beat Bohs. Tight maybe 1-0 2. Bray to beat Galway. Galway defending v Derry last week was awful. 3-1 3. Derry to beat St.Pats.Derry scoring and playing well 2-0 4. Dundalk to beat Drogheda . Drogheda are truly awful.Derby games often take on a life of their own but 2-1 Dundalk. 5. Rovers to beat UCD. Having only taken 1 point from their last 2 games a win badly needed and I think this is ideal game 3-0 First Division 1.Waterford/Shels. Draw 2-2 2.Cork to beat Salthill Devon 3-0 3.Athlone/Mervue. Anyones guess 4.Monaghan to beat Wexford Youths. 3-0 5.Finn Harps/Longford . Draw |

What makes you think this present Bohs team can get anything up in Sligo? I notice you didn`t bother explaining yourself on my "petty" thread applehunter. I don`t mind anybody having a substantiated pop but at least have the decency to back up your opinion instead of disappearing again. It sucks that Cork were relegated/wound up. Admittedly, we`ve been lucky to escape the same fate, but don`t take that out on us! The pre-season efforts to get a team on the pitch were nothing short of miraculous. Normality goes out the window in Bohs Rovers games. We defend our corner. I don`t see what`s petty about any of that. This present Bohs team is unbeaten in the league bar one game they didn`t deserve to lose. Nothing spectacular, but for me it`s Sligo who have more question marks surrounding them so far this season. 7 goals in 7 games is a poor return for a team with far more attacking quality than us. As Rf alluded to, Fagan is due back and he had already formed a good understanding with Flood before he got injured. Fenlon will play for a point again as is his prerogative. The onus is on Sligo to break us down. Half time draw at evs looks likely imo. |

I see the hula hoops are 11/10 -1 inm PPs. Good bet.
Several squad members will be itching to capitalize on McCabes absence. Derry are clearly improving and Pats look short of confidence. I`d have to be with the home team at evs. I couldn`t back Bray at that price. Dundalk are a better bet but are so hot and cold you don`t know which one will turn up in Drogheda. Both left alone. Shels look good value to get back to winning ways. VC at 7/4 is the wrong price imo. |
|
By:
Agree about Shels Giant, i think hold off about Shams as well as you said yourself last week they always drift. We are an attacking team as Giant says but we have a real issue breaking teams down and so far this season we have missed some amazing chances.
|
|
By:
Good win for Shels who played with 10 men for nearly an hour last night.
Hopefully Derry will double my money tonight. |
|
By:
derry 5/6 you think is a good bet ?

I`d rather the 1.99 on here. I hope so!

Sligo back to form here!
Bray 2 up already. |

Nobody stopping Rovers I`m afraid. Sligo are soft. Derry struggling at home. Bray can`t possibly keep it up neither can we. ![]() |

Exactly Giant we did not deserve anything from the game, well maybe a draw would have been fair but either Bohs twigged what how to play against us or we are pants. Thats it though was kinda impressed with Bohs in a lot of ways, well organised and hungry and have some decent players to boot thats life hopefully a few on Monday for the LC.

i think its going to be one of those seasons at tallaght ....most teams are now coming hoping for a draw.. 9 men behind the ball ..bray now ucd tonight ..its very hard to break down ..to their credit rovers did it with aplomb tonight ..could easily have been 3 or 4 up before half time ..we wasted chance after chance ..finally got our act together when rice was brought on ..he dominated midfield and gave us that extra bite ..finn again had another cracker ..cant see him staying in ireland after his 2 year contract is up ...we again showed that sparkle and fighting spirit that was evident against sligo last monday ..we went 2 up and kept looking for a third ..always a good sign imo..we got caught on the break with a really smashing goal from ucd...but within seconds we ha regained a 2 goal advantage ..lots of good football on offer as well from us ..as the season progresses i can see us striding clear ...

As much as it pains me workrider gotta agree, told a mate this week that pp 4/5 for Rovers to win the league was the investment of the year.Rovers imo still aren't a great side but the squad they have is gonna be way too much for the other teams over the course of the season.
Fair play to the Bohs with all the turmoil thats been going on and a greatly weakened team(on paper GS!) Fenlon again has been producing amazing results. Tallaght announced today workrider for the Setanta cup final.Maybe a bit unfair but gonna be a good day.For a club as big as our its been a longtime getting back to the good times but great to be back and it should be a great advert for Irish football. |

wasnt rice great when he came on workrider

tbh pukha1 ithink that was always going to be the plan once no northern team qualfied.. good news for us no doubt ..but theres not a better stadium to hold it in tbf...i would not be dismissing ye punkha1...foster is getting the best out of a small enough squad ...the way we are playing is encouraging and if dundalk come and play football it should as you say be a great advert for the loi.....
|
|
By:
yeah huddys he changed the game for us.. turned the game on its head....
|
|
By:
Good derby win for you punkha. I don`t think you should be too disappointed about playing in Tallaght. You`ll get a whole stand and they do appear to play better away from home, like us!
I thought last night told us a lot. Sligo should have been out of sight by h/t but when they conceded, they were completely clueless and gutless. Basically, Sligo appear to be the Arsenal of the LOI. And despite our lack of quality, there`s no harder working team at present. Write us off at your peril! |
|
By:
how long can your luck hold out giant ....?
|
|
By:
You got lucky last Friday wr.
That`s our first slice of it this season. |
|
By:
have a look at that video i put up .i hope you get a better insight into the rovers manager than what you've been lead to belive...
|
|
By:
Watched a bit of the loi on telly last night.......ok the standard is pretty poor but you have to give it to the bohs fans the sang all through the game........the were penned into a little stand and gave it socks......it sounded like a cheesey 80's disco.
I think I'm becoming a bohs fan after listening to the soccer lad on midlands radio.....he was asked about rivalry and in a nutshell he said.......Shamrock rovers take the p*ss out of other teams performance, facilities and finances and then said they won nothing for years until last year, rent facilities and a supporters club pays the bills. |
|
By:
how great is that eh...supporters paying the bills ...we owe nobody ..have money in the bank ..yippeeee...
|
|
By:
btw gan ..did he add we had no home ground for over 22yrs and still never folded ..2 years in our new home and we finish 2nd in our first year in tallaght and won it last year...what a club ....the rest of them are lucky we had no home ground for all those years.....championi championi.....
|
|
By:
He did mention that rovers travelled around for years......never heard mention of 22 years.......Why could you not come up with a pitch in all that time?. Tallaght is a big spot over 125000 people probably more now...........We have a GAA club in the next parish.....they won a bit in the 60's and 70's they got a new ground 3 years ago and won the junior hurling championship now some of them feel ready to take on Kilkenny......it's all about the bragging rights........I suppose it's rovers payback time.
