the going description by Irish race courses is disgrace, its very misleading to punters, often I find myself having to look up the actual race and see what way the sods are coming up to get a true assessment. The stick system that the flat uses is the way to go. I think Iam going to ring up about this or even write a letter.

yeah tracks do funny things, just like Leopardstown used the outer track when there was no "good" in the ground on the inner track for the Champion Stakes

Watering the ground last year Derby weekend and ruling out Sea The Stars from running and leaving it to Fame and Glory is another classic example.
