That really looks like a good offer.
Can oppose him for free :0 |
By:
did the same last year with Cousin Vinny I recall....
By:
:D what a deal.
By:
He cant win basically, he'll obviously have a big liability on him come Cheltenham even with the special, then he has to give money back if he loses.
Will lose more than the PRs worth but not complaining ;\ |
By:
*if he wins
:^0 |
By:
When * :D
Lads gone NRNB |

The offer is feck all use, unless your planning to back against Dunguib...
How many Irish guys do you know who want to do that. I haven't heard one guy on here yet saying he was planning to take on Dunguib with something. :^0 |
By:
If Loosen My Load ran I'd back him ew.
Am sure plenty will not fancy Dunguib at odds on and will look for a bit of value. :| |
By:
So basically he going to have you chasing so called VALUE¨:^0 instead of backing the one you really fancy and the most obivious GOOD THING....
and people wonder where the label MUG punter came from. :^0 |
By:
What if you don't fancy Dunguib?
Or what if you fancy something else like LML? You can now back with this safety net. Iirc 3/4 odds on shots beaten last year at the festival. |

By:
blessington if you cant see the value in that offer you really have let yourself down
By:
The majority of the money given back when dunguib wins will be punted
on the next race. They just want to get punters(mostly mugs) in the door and hope they do alot more bets during the day. |
By:
It really is a good offer and if people cannot see that, they are the MUGS imo
By:
Only one mug punter on this thread.

By:
Blessington- Mathemathics has never been your strong point :)
Can you not see that it is possible to make a few bob with this offer with no risk at all |
By:
I see on aertel Celtic bookmakers are paying out on duinguib winning the supreme novices!1
By:
If Dunguib wins, and say your horse places at say 25/1, you get the win part refunded and still get paid on the 6.25/1 place.
By:
I think it's very funny, i don't have a strong opinion on this concession personally but the guys on the cheltenham forum are all contradicting themselves.
One guy says they're trying to deter punters from backing dunguib and don't want to lose too much money when he wins, but surely they'll be fooked having paid out on everything. The next guy who is singing from the same hymn sheet as the other poster says they cleaned up on this with the cousin vinny special last year. They're saying they'll lay less on the fav if the fav wins and lay all the other horses for more but if any other horse wins they'll clean up anyway. Was Go Native a bad result for pp as opposed to other bookmakers last year ??? |
By:
Who knows what their reason for doing it this year Rowley, maybe given the odds on fav, they want to generate so (more) interest in the market? Maybe they are out to "get" him, or maybe it is a ploy?
The one thing for sure is that if Dunguib is too rich a price for you, it gives you as close to a free bet as you could hope for in the race. I'll wait til the 5-day or nrnb stage to play in the race. |

its a very clever advertising
they really should lose about 200k on this race alone if dunguib wins but how much of that money will be recycled back into powers for the rest of the festival the**y gits are giving the punters a a mile start in the marathon but there will be 25 more miles to reel the punters in |
By:
Rowley - I wouldn't have thought so. Was 12/14s in the morning.
By:
anyone know how much they'll lay in the shops? If I want to back two at 300 a pop are they likely to lay that?
By:
If you have 5 paddy power shops within easy distance of you as i do and an online account you have potential max refunds of 1.2k.
Based on an sp of even money and a 20runner field with a 1% overound per runner my spreadsheet tells me that for an outlay of 1.2k I would have a mininum return of 1k if dunguib loses and a return of 1.7k if dunguib wins. Effectively makes Dunguib a 7/2 shot |
By:
max refund 300 per customer,
By:
make that 5/2 - doh!
and theres me**ging off blessingtons maths skills |
By:
good move by Celtic, no more bets taken on Dunguib!
By:
If they really wanted to give 'value' refund on the place ..... PP = the mugs bookies. Poor value and according to JD on rte .... If you win they'll close your account :)
By:
Ye if dunguib wins and they pay everyone out, i reckon they'll refuse all bets in the future ?
By:
15/1 special on Solwhit/Quevega double isn't bad either.
By:
Which are the best ones to back with a view to laying of?
Get me out of there and oscar whiskey? Was going to do Menorah and blackstairmountain but not convinced Menorah will be as well backed as the first two and never know who ruby will ride. Its the one liability so would prefer to do as many as possible but reckon sticking with the two is the best policy????/?/?//////?? |
By:
A better offer would be four places.
Now if they do this as well fair play to them.. |
By:
Some serious whinging on this thread

Effectively makes Dunguib a 7/2 shot ok ...so if i round up a crew of lads and back every horse (except Dunguib) in the race to win 1000 assuming it'll be 9/1 Bar..making sure none of them spend more than 300..il be quids in. |
By:
Rule 4....If Dunguib wins by half the course as most expect you win NOTHING.......ie another Cousin Vinny. :(
If you back the whole field and Dunguib loses you probably get about 5/4 for your trouble..... PS...Your way better putting your energy into looking for better bets imo...Cheers |
