the scummy ads even play on that fact. make a joke out of those people that say it's impossible to win. it's a akin to alleging all of the lottery hawks are 'conspiracy theorists'.
it's almost like the nudge unit of the government is enlisted in the manipulation. despicable behaviour, but not unexpected. |

luckily I got 4 numbers in June just before it changed and collected £140 now its £50. for a 1 in 1,091 chance

I've just had a look at hotpicks, so you get 6.5k for 4 numbers, where it used to 13k, so you're now basically paying 50 pence for the first draw and 50 pence for the second draw to win half of what used to be on offer, knowing full well there is a cat in hells chance you could ever possibly win both draws. Halving your stake to win half the amount.
The only time it's ever worth playing the lottery or Euro millions is a) when the jackpot is maxed out and can no longer roll over, meaning trickle down prizes b) when the Euromillions is won and is back down to it's base rate (15 mil?), sales must drop off a cliff meaning a much greater chance of winning the 1 million pound raffle, still incredibly unlikely but a much better chance in theory nonetheless. c) when they have specials, such as 10 millionaire raffles, of course sales will increase, but not 10 fold. I vaguely remember the lottery had something like 50 raffle prizes of small amounts, like 20k or something, that is much more enticing than these nonsense new structured prizes on their games, but for some reason they done away with them. I haven't logged in for nearly a year but if these are the changes, wont be logging in any time soon. Kind Regards. |

Also it's a schoolboy error to send emails saying 'you've won a Small prize' as someone mentioned earlier, surely just say prize instead to entice to log on, poor marketing strategy.

It's really depressing how many people get seduced by this nonsense. It will never happen, but wouldn't you love to see the percentage of players that get some kind of handout or housing concession from the tax revenue pot. Including sp. At least 50%

Just had a look back to the last times I got 3 numbers in a 'must be won' draw (The only time I play it) with no jackpot winner and a rolldown to the other prizes.
March 4th 3 numbers I got £129. March 25th 3 numbers I got £99. As said would have been £24 last night. Also, no rolldown increase for 4 or 5 numbers now. Last night was £1000 for 5 numbers. March 4th and 25th was £11,000 and £15,000 for 5. Rip off. Sorry for the aftertiming  |

That's a 1 in 300 million chance of a jackpot paid out over 30 years. Even the most optimistic older players might be put off by that last part.
Hmm. Also, NL are very coy about the rules of this Powerball thingy. Cynics might wonder if they are planning to do away with anonymity for winners. NL also sends emails reminding players to play or (worse imo) play again. |

The takeout is 47% , so only 53% to give back in prizes , whatever juggling they do they will always struggle , people dont play to win small amounts but they need to have small prizes to keep people thinking they can win .
