great to see dellawoffle is also a post event football expert..

I would give Rogers a start maybe in place of Kane. There's so many subs these days if he's no good bring Harry on.

Dela, you're talking about Palmer as if he's Xavi or Iniesta, he's not, he's another very decent player who can do something clever when he's afforded room to play, you can also throw in the fact that he's carrying an injury who's struggled all season in a struggling side which is probably foremost in the manager's mind for leaving him behind.
By:
I’m not comparing him to the Spaniards, I’m saying what’s fact there’s no one there with his ability but again it’s not about one player.
Sakka is there carrying an injury, Saliba is playing with one, Rice has had one. I don’t buy the he’s injured but think it’s more an attitude thing with him. What you don’t see is that Palmer doesn’t need the room to play, that’s my point, he can turn someone the same way that Sakka can like they are a London taxi cab. That’s rare. I don’t see what Bellingham adds or what his position even is? We left players who were playing and took others like Stones who haven’t been, or Toney who’s been in a crud league. Burn is there when Slab isn’t! ![]() All those who dogged Arsenal for the way they play would love one of their specials in this tournament I’m sure. |
By:
None of these teams scare me, Spain, France, Brazil.
I’d love to know what Southgate makes of it because it’s a step back for me. Tommy Tucs even said in his post match interview that he has ideas to go down the middle. But get this, he said that he was reticent last night! ![]() My we are in a knock out comp and the manager admits that!! |
By:
I agree with some of the selections, Stones is crazy, Sakha carrying a dodgy achilles of all things, Spence because he's fast runner!!
By:
Argentina are the best team so far, they can pass it through the lines and all look comfortable in possession, France have individuals who can break a game apart, Brazil's midfield is an accident waiting to happen, and it will happen, and Spain have shown that they too struggle against a stubborn lesser side who can defend.
By:
Spence has done himself no harm though, has a total lack of experience and when he galloped with Sakka down the right he looked something fresh.
Sakka was terrible this year for Arsenal. That’s a fair summary on the opposition from what we’ve seen Duffy. O’Rielly is great going forwards but he can’t defend. I’ll probably hit the sack and not wait up for the next match! ![]() |
By:
Duffy, I would put France 1st, then Spain, then Argentina...on what I've seen so far
Perhaps a dead heat for second I just think France have got top players in every department, plus Mbappe on top Spain have got 7/8 top class starters, ditto the Argies We have perhaps 3/4 |
By:
Mbappe is over rated, Walker took care of him everytime.
By:
Luca Digna at left back is part of no great team.
By:
Yep fair enough on that summary, France can blow a game apart in an instant and what separates them, I suppose from the rest.
The Argies managed to handle it four years ago though...who knows ![]() |
By:
Dela, Mbappe overrated?
Respect your opinion but if he was English are you saying you wouldn't pick him? |
By:
Agree, Duffy, plus it's knockout, if it was a 38 match league I would expect France to come out on top...but it's not
By:
Oh course he’d be in the team, over rated yes Reg because of the press it happens all the time.
Last time had our eye on him and took our eye off the man, Greezeman. In the Champions league final Dembelle was useless, they aren’t the force that they’d like us to think that they are. |
By:
Dela, I know what you're saying
I can't think of many English players that France would start, including Kane, instead of what they've already got |
By:
I’d have a fit Sakka over Dembelle any day.
Shaw is a better left back than Digne. Gahaie is as good as Saliba. Rice goes in anyteam. There’s a few, it’s a shame we can’t field our best team and believe that we’re not below them all. |
By:
Ghaaana celebrated a draw as if they'd won the Julie Rimmer.
Prime position to win the group and move on from there. France didn't capitulate following their humiliating draw against Cappo verdi. It's a marathon, if not a snickers this one and you do what it takes to get where you want to be. Two games in, top of the group and already there's a post_mortem ffs |
By:
When the manager admits to being reticent to try or gamble - The writing is in the wall.
By:
It doesn’t match what he told them to do in the last match.

By:
Betfair couch potatoes sending off their Cvs to HR setting out their credentials having watched England secure top spot in the group after 2 games.

Top spot aint secured just yet.

Mbappe is over rated fro ysdc..now we nah you're an aftertiming expert but to say mbappe is overated is borderline sectioning. |
By:
Like saying Lester Piggott was a lucky rider…
By:
Was in Walkers pocket everytime we played them, so that makes him one of the greatest right backs ever by your logic!
![]() |
By:
Well G Neville who looked like Mr Potatoman just now in his black spectacles was just talking about how the debate about not taking Cole Palmer will come up if England don’t start to create!
![]() |
By:
Also added to that Gibbs - White but said less so than Cole, who can create and , “make things happen…”
By:
The first and second games are oil and water, Croatia were happy to have a tear up which suited us, Ghana weren't, you can't insist on them to play open football so we can have more space.
There is absolutely nothing whatsoever England could have done to force a replication of game one. Again, if the technical excellence of Spain can struggle against a low block, so can we. If and when we go out it will be against a team that affords us all the space in the world, so we don't need to worry on that score, if we think an EPL game is what we need, we'll get the chance to prove it. |

If I’d paid for any ticket fir a match that Henderson plays any part in, I’d be asking for a refund!
