This is very worrying for all Punters, and indeed bookies, with the world's best 5 days racing coming up. You back a winner but don't know if they will call the fav a nr with a r4 eating into your dough.

Wait until it happens in an 8 runner race reducing the place terms...all sorts of messy scenarios waiting to happen....and they will.

someone should ask if cameras are to be placed in every stall

if this is to be taken seriously then it has to happen otherwise its speacial treatment for one over the others

red force one stall 7 opens slightly late
from a standing start cost the horse maybe 1l

horse is beaten over 8l
retrospective NR
e/w places down from 3 to 2

disgraceful

but at least that's a stall malfunction
isn't the horse's fault

surely it was a decision influenced by the world pool and how it would be viewed in other countries eg Hong Kong

No one has asked -  if Moore knew that the horse was making like a tripod?

It is all down to how the viewers from World Pool in other countries would view it and it's down to the BHA realizing that ITV would be highlighting the incident from the stall camera and bringing everyone's attention to it that frightened them, without that all punters would have been none the wiser and the horse would have been an also ran.

Opinions remain divided, however, with Benvenuto Cellini’s co-owner, Peter Brant, explaining in the Racing Post: “I think it’s only natural that they ruled him a non-starter, since they let the race go ahead even though the jockey had asked for it not to start. Our plan was for him to run near the front, and he never had the chance to do so.”

Started never did his job.

I think that on reflection the punters who received a refund have been dealt an unfair result, he was the favourite and the most likely winner therefore it would have been only fair that he should have been settled as the winner.

I believe that Moore informed the stewards that he did indeed intend on winning the race.!!

I never saw Moore gesturing or heard the commentator mention that he had done so and asked to wait.

So we have his word that he did.

The money that came for the winner tells a different story.

Foot up or foot down I think he’d of been nursed around on that ground like Calandagan was.

on the stalls camera moore is not gesturing anything
he briefly looks around & the stalls open moments after he does this

so this is utter bs from the co-owner

The more I watch the more I see nothing that stopped the horse from winning if it was good enough - it happily jumped out the stalls !

The ground was described as good-soft but after 5 furlongs it was clearly soft and unsuitable so we demand to be classed as a NR.............where does it end !

How many horses in the history of world pool have been deemed non runners post race under these type of rules?
What other countries even use this type of rule?
I'm asking as people are saying WP affected the decision.
Also how did it affect the WP?

Are jockeys going to start pulling up soon after stalls open if they think some random      infraction or event has occurred, like blindfolds, head hitting stalls, stumbles due to a stone or wind blows a bag over course, horse had a fly in its eye ect ect ect.

One quote to show how terrible standards are and it gets your neck up! Laugh

It was the slowest Derby in over 40 years! Given his flop at Donny he had absolutely no chance.

It was 3.5 secs slower than the Coronation.

Exactly afterthought.
