give an opinion it might be well off or go down the gutless route and just act like a school kid

He works for a commercial, breeding enterprise. It's his job.

In the 34 years I've watched racing, the flat horse that impressed me the most was not trained by Aidan O'brien. It was Sea the Stars.
Although his rating was never as high as Frankel's, he managed to win the Guineas, Derby, and Arc de Triomphe in his 3 year old year, alongside 3 other group ones.
More versatile in terms of trip, and I've never seen a horse pull as hard as he did in the Derby, and still win.
He just seemed to love the competitive nature of racing and had an exceptional will to win.

Well said. Masterly handled by John Oxx too.

ill name you an underated horse by the public , which imo was better than sea the stars , won a guineas first time out, then destroyed the derby field , won a king george after winning an eclipse in probably the worst going ever for that race , beating indian skimmer and warning who were very top class horses , Nashwan

Both el gran senor and dancing brave would have destroyed Nashwan at any distance up to and including 12t

Racing might actually be better and more liked by the public if the above actually happened?

It takes only two prize fighters to make and sell a fight.

Winner takes all.

So they’ve got Frank Warren a boxing promoter on talking about the Derby, but no mention of trainers only being allowed to enter one runner.

Up the prize money, let the best horse win.

Currently AOB has 10 entered

2 are entered to run tomorrow, they should have been taken out with Montreal at the last decs stage.

We have the same mass entries with Cheltenham.

You’re not going to attract people to racing and encourage them to bet when 3rd strings win not ridden by the stable jockey.

My two very best horses are Dancing Brave and Frankel. The former was terribly unlucky not to win at Epsom. There's only one Frankel and Sir Cecil. A well-suited partnership. He beat a very strong field including Bering (the best in France) and Sharastani (Derby winner) in The Arc.; 3rd best could be Sea The Stars.

I cannot remember an Epsom Derby winner from Coolmore running in The Arc in the same year.

AOB has 5 of the 12 left in the Oaks, including Precise, who I cannot see turning up. I'm assuming she's been left in in case anything goes wrong with Amelia beforehand. Even then Precise is out of a sprinter and may well struggle to get 10f let alone 12F, especially if there is some cut in the ground.

Surely the Coronation Stakes 2 weeks later must be her next target? If AOB runs her in the Oaks and Coronation, it would mean three group 1s in 26 days. And why take on Amelia anyway, who will stay the 12F easily?

'billie' has Precise at 2/1f. I think she'll show. She finished strong in the Irish 1000G. She won the Fillies Mile at Newmarket. And, she's class.

I think Legacy Link is no pushover. I believe she's been touted / compared to Enable; Enable (6/1) beat Rhododendron (8/11) who was very strongly fancied by connections at Epsom.

not sure if hes had many others but high chapparal ran 3rd in the arc the same year he won the derby - he also ‘failed’ in the following years arc after which o’brien said he had a small issue with his shoulder meaning he couldnt run to his best right-handed - to be fair he pretty much won all his other races - great horse - i thought he was a certainty in that second arc

comparing horses from different generations is difficult - im a dancing brave fan like many but a line through trypitch his performances might not be so amazing as while he always comfortably beat tryptich she was never that far away and despite being a top class filly/mare she was well beaten lots of times by other horses eg oh so sharp

el gran senor was an exceptional miler as the horses he beat over a mile or shorter were unbeatble by anyone else - chief singer lear fan rousillon (breeders cup accepted) - rousillon dominating the following years mile division after being a relative also-ran in 1984

I was gobsmacked Coolmore chose (I understand the commercial side) to run City Of Troy post his Derby triumph in America instead of The ARC.

Three of his first four winners of the Derby ran in the Arc.

High Chaparal, Camelot and Ruler Of The World.

Since then their targets have definitely changed.

Mayson.right.Would Lester Piggott have won the Epsom Derby 9 times if he wouldn't have been on the  best horse for  " different" trainers. Would Pep  Guardiola have won  all those trophies if he would have been manager of  Burnley.
the answer is, very  very good exceptional on what they  "CAN DO".

I never said he doesn’t train a lot of winners in fact quite the opposite

He trains the derby winner nearly every year and wins all the Irish classics and sometimes the French classics too - I never questioned any of that
