how would he have done if he hadn’t inherited all the coolmore breeding ? has he never won a race with a horse that’s not an absolute blue-blood? When’s the last time he managed to get one of those blue-bloods through a season unbeaten ?

after banging on about Albert Einstein he’s now onto this derby favourite comparing to galileo

absolute slaver

And, Pierre. He's improved a lot. He's a different horse since Leopardstown.

Still posters fail to accept that Coolmore are a Breeding Operation.

yep stallion promotion only works if people think oh my god this thing is quicker than Galileo - instead they surely think more bs from aiden O’Brien

Unless you think the ten-bob punters on here can see through it but people in the industry can’t Laugh

In other industries if an entity is dominating or too dominant tha industry watchdog will take action to ensure a fairer level-playing field for other participants. However, horseracing is different. The bookies (also dominant) and its gravy-trainers ie horseracing journos and pundits will be batting for them too.

He gives it large about the best horses taking on each other, like last year about Delacroix vs Ombudsman.

That seems to happen later in the season, early season it’s all fun and games running multiples.

When you’re that dominant you shouldn’t have to run more than one, just bring your Delacroix and let it race.

No smoke, no mirrors.

Well he’s in a fantasy world or was many times over. Let’s see if River ever runs over a fking mile like he says it has the pace to?

By then Albert might get a mile himself ans the Lion in Winter a mile and a half! Laugh

He's got a stable full of well bred horses.
Do you think he's going run just the 1 & leave all the others locked up doing nothing?
By:
Delashay
When: 29 May 26 18:00
He’s different from the likes of Stoute, he’d take the one horse and go race.

Workforce, Derby and Arc.

He’s not in canisters class and that’s a word he loves!

Ok are there not other group races around the world that he could target with these blue bloods?

And actually run them at their own and correct level?

There’s rich races to be won in Germany. No runner in the recent Guineas, don’t think he has one in the upcoming 1000.

Had six entered in the Prix Du Jockey Club but hasn’t ONE entry in the Group 2 PRIX EUGENE ADAM 28th June.

Hhhhmmm

Trainers of that era never had so many well bred animals.
You are going to run just the 1 if that's all you have.
By:
Delashay
When: 29 May 26 18:05
I know that that’s true but you can’t deny he runs too many in races that they can’t actually win on ability alone.
By:
Delashay
When: 29 May 26 18:06
Then he doesn’t target races that they could win or place in. Not a great trainer despite the hype.

Absolutely ridiculous comment from a top trainer. I'd like to see him swap stable with another in Ireland or one in the UK. Ben's won nothing significant (yet) even if he wins at Epsom next month.

I think Galileo was a better stallion than a racehorse. Dancing Brave, Bering, Slip Anchor, El Gran Senor and High Chaparral were superior.

Btw I do not think Con River would be at Epsom even if an unforeseen event conspires it from taking part in the French Derby this sunday eg refuses to load; falls out of the stall; pulls up after 3f; etc. The probable prevailing softish / soft ground would place a premium on a horse's stamina.
By:

If the ground's going to be soft, why did they put 20mm of water on this week?
By:

Obviously you can’t think about anything but name calling?

Maybe I’m a purist and am aware of the history of the sport?

Races like the 2000 Guineas and the Derby came about by The Duke of York saying to Lord Derby bring your horse to Epsom or Newmarket and we’ll see who is or who has the best horse.

When you make the statement that he has then do just that, put your reputation on just the one.

We know though that they run horses over incorrect trips and at levels that they know from homework that they’re not up to.

I’ll let you ask yourself why that is?!

Racing might actually be better and more liked by the public if the above actually happened?

It takes only two prize fighters to make and sell a fight.

Winner takes all.

has any of his horses lived up to the hype - I can’t remember if he was hyping them back in the days of high chaparral and Galileo

Rip van winkle city of Troy star spangled banner - best we’ve seen / we’ve never seen anything like it / we’ve never seen numbers like it etc etc blah blah - even horses that struggled to win a pattern race like Seville were hyped-up as having a touch of class

serpentine even if his derby win was a fluke he then went on to run a decent 4th in France so wasn’t a complete donkey - his form then completely fell off a cliff and there’s been a few of them - I know “they are not machines” but doesn’t seem to happen as much with other trainers

Imagine he packed away the superlatives and then 3 or 4 years down the line he hyped one of his horses some people might take a blind bit of notice

best horses he’s had - high chaparral and Galileo imo

Has he had a horse that’s took on all comers and dominated a generation and older horses like sea the stars did - not that I can think of right now - lots of very good horses but not many exceptional that people are talking about decades later

some do make good stallions tho
