Murphy, yes.
Yesterday was a little more complex as no rail and several riders were riding as wide as they could anyway, seeking better going. You often see them short of room in those circumstances, not as extreme as yesterday. Nit too dissimilar to when the Mullins lot had their very public fracas. |

when ewe watch the hd on..both hands were on the horses neck..the left arm wasnt tugging to make it go left..it went 2-3yds left in a matter of yards..how the fck is that improper riding ffs.

6:26:38 on RTV his left shoulder comes out, isn't in that position to correct his horse from hanging
|

You would be hard pressed to "prove" that though.
Nevertheless,disqualification was entirely justified |

improper riding is a lower threshold uti

not the point. doesnt matter if jokey rides race of the year. proper or improper, whip in wrong hand or up its bum its irrelevant
if you cause another to lose all chance its a dq |

it couldnt have been second as it caused another to run out so dq was the only option not sure about that - as often happens with gross interference, the other affected horse was too far back to "say it would have won". The Irish rule: By careless or improper riding or by accident in any part of a Race the Horse shall, on an objection under Rule 262 (iv) which under Rule 264 includes a Stewards Enquiry, be placed behind the Horse or Horses with which it has interfered if the Raceday Stewards are satisfied that the interference improved its placing in relation to the Horse or Horses with which it interfered. If they are not so satisfied they shall overrule the objection and order that the placings shall remain unaltered. The stewards under this rule just needed to be "satisfied", in this case, that the fast finishing second would have won but for the interference, which doesn't seem unreasonable at all. |

I was relieved not to do my money as I am always wary when there is a wholesale gable on the winner over there.
The Byrnes are rancid to the core. |
|
By:
another bit from irish rules
The Rider being overtaken on the inside is entitled to hold their line to the inside of the next obstacle, doll or section of rail but they must not move their Horse across in an attempt to interfere with the overtaking Horse. Interference caused in this manner will be deemed a breach of this Rule and may be considered intentional interference |

Small world and all of that. It makes one wonder if there's no level of wrongdoing deemed bad enough to get ostracised. I appreciate that everyone inside the game knows there are jiggers and non jiggers, but you'd have thought leaping off instead of winning would have crossed a line. The incident I started this thread about. Juicing them up, perhaps.

I think after the Wexford "mishap"
that if the Stewards had the minerals to see it through that the damage done to the reputation of the sport would have been so seismic that they stayed back from the brink and the fudge was manufactured. |
