Reminded me of the Evan Williams case as similar age of victim. Clearly worse than Evan Williams (broken eye socket and nose and cheekbone fractured in 3 places, and completely unprovoked), although he did admit it. Caught on camera and witnesses, so not like he could deny it. Only got a one year jail term which was suspended for two years (joke number one, as surely merited custodial) £1,500 in compensation (another joke, I got just short of £5k for far less serious injuries in a civil case that was due to negligence, not pre-meditated) and only 50 hours community service. Anyhow, if that is any sort of benchmark, Mr Williams should not receive a custodial. |
